john schmidt said:many people are going to watch this match.
i dont expect the money to come from one person.
there is hundreds who want to see me lose and think dannys got the best of it.
hell danny might give 1000 himself he wants to play so bad.
anyway i know 5000 is a little steep but if im going to play him and let alot of people watch then i want 5000.
im not asking for 20,000 .
the reason poolplayers never get anything anyway is because most of them are to stupid and broke to demand enough to make things worth their while.
if 5000 cant be raised then the match is not worth having anyway.
again if danny would have just said good shootin john at end of last match i would have played already.
since he wanted to be a pain well ill be one too.
but again 5000 i will play or i will donate 5000 of my own to charity .ill put that in writing by the way
John,
Actually I like your thoughts about being paid to show up. The show up payout amount may need to be negotiated but I would like to offer another suggestion in hopes of getting what both you and Danny deserve.
A match between you and Danny would go over big and I like the idea of show up money but only for the loser. If it is to be a winner take all match then the loser should be the one who is compensated for showing up. The winner gets all of the cash. The loser should have his expenses covered and some walking money to boot but that's just my opinion.
Spending 3-5 days playing a match like this is worth a considerable amount of money and the preparation for a match like this is worth even more. $5,000 seems like a fair amount to be paid to the loser but I'm just not sure that the traffic will bear it and if it needs to be negotiated, it should be.
It is sometimes difficult but even I try not to live in the past and hashing over what was said in the past or done in the past is not the way to extract the best of what the world has to offer.
It is my sincerest hope that you and Danny can respect each other enough as professionals to play one more match because both of you deserve that opportunity.
Sincerely,
Joey Aguzin
