Justice for Mike Surber

Im betting this murderer has lost the Ponytail for sure!! Any sightings of a guy w a ponytail should be given second consideration in my opinion.

Could anyone do a drawing of this guy with and without the PT? I believe that would be helpful in bringing this criminal to justice!!

People saw this guy the week before and the week after-Get a sketch from them with and w/o the PT. This is just basic sense. As it is, I am sensing this investigation is a COMPLETE BOONDOGGLE!

I spoke with Flowers earlier today. He said the lead they had from Sherman, TX turned out to not be the guy. Not even close, really. He said there was another "sighting" that they're following up. However they're delighted to pursue any lead, and they have meetings about this case daily.

I haven't heard anything from AMW. I mentioned to the Lieutenant that they probably tend to shy away from quick coverage of a case, simply because if the suspect is arrested, they've wasted all that production expense. Whereas if the case has ground to a halt after several months, they might be more inclined to spend the money for research and production. Flowers agreed that could be a factor.

Doc

What about putting the video on youtube? What happened with that?

latest news article in local paper 1/23

Here is a link to today's article in the local newspaper. Curiously, they are just now identifying "Jericho" as a suspect, rather than person of interest. Seems to me if they had been more aggressive sooner, they could have caught the guy. After all, he was seen in Jackson several days AFTER the murder. It says the detective pleaded with the public NATIONWIDE to help identify or locate the suspect. I wonder what means he is using to distribute this info and picture "nationwide". I don't mean to be critical of this detective, I'm sure he is doing all he can with what he has to work with and doing his best to solve this case. It is not his fault, and such a shame, that law enforcement agencies in this area direct such a huge percentage of their resources and manpower to "narcotics task forces" that go around chasing pot smokers and staking out stores waiting for people to buy meth supplies instead of concentrating on crimes that actually have a VICTIM......

Anyway, just wanted to bump this again. I know Mike would have loved to be at the DCC right now. If anything, at least we know that Detective Flowers is still actively working this case, and it's not being put on the back burner.......Hopefully this a**hole will be apprehended soon.......

Doc, we all appreciate your diligence in helping get pertinent information out to the public, and in time it will pay off.

I am going to disagree with the fact that AMW will lose a substantial amount of time and money on production. First of all, can we really put a price on the death of a loved one, or friend?
Secondly, AMW could start by airing the story on their "15 minutes of shame" segment. The price would be minimal, but the effect would enormous.

I for one think that getting the Mike Surber story on AMW, can only help expedite the justice that is deserved.

people on the tar chat today sayin that they have got the guy !!!

does anyone know if they caught him and do you have a link to info ?

We have no word that there's been any further progress on the case. There is an updated story on tonight's news concerning the interest that "America's Most Wanted" is showing about this case. http://www.wlox.com/Global/story.asp?S=11884620 You can click on the Video Gallery story to see the clip. Art Tripp is GulfportDoc.

If they pick up this story, and do a feature, I'm certain that they'd get this guy.

I still would like to see the poolroom video on youtube. I think that could be just as helpful as AMW.

I would have to guess that the authorities believe that America's Most Wanted would be a better conduit than youtube and are deferring to AMW until they hear otherwise. If they are thinking that, I'm in agreement.

After it views (I've got my fingers crossed like the rest of you) on AMW, then we can post it on youtube for additional coverage.

I know just enough about Twitter to wonder if it has any place in law enforcement.

Law enforcement officials who cling to the old ways of investigation are doomed to mediocrity. It's good to see Lt. Flowers recognizing the benefit of utilizing television and possibly the Internet to further his investigation.

I'm also wondering if we should start writing AMW AGAIN to express our interest. I don't know if Mike or Jerry would object to "us" being referred to as AZ Billiards?????????????????????????

It is possible that if AZ Billiards gets mentioned by America's Most Wanted, it could create a whole new group of AZB members. More importantly, it could help to stimulate the public's interest in finding this person of interest.

People are on Youtube 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Americas Most Wanted is a great idea but how many times does it air and for how long. Any and all publicity is a plus and with the amount of people on the internet these days, Youtube is a great idea.

I agree! You don't have to wait around either to get something on youtube. It can happen right away and maybe it should have months ago. Meanwhile this creep is sinking deeper into the woodwork. I'm all for using every means possible to find this guy.
