Magic Rack

Hi Chino,

The 8 ball rack will launch at VF, Benfica has a sample on the way to him to try, as he is one of my distributors.

Will you come to VF? if so lets hook up, you canpick up some 8 ball MBR's

roy

When and where is VF going to be? If I can make it, I would definitely go and we can shoot some again and this time I would have my own cue with me finally lol.

How much longer does it take to rack using the Magic Rack versus a traditional rack?

It takes around the same time maybe less, never really pit stopped myself comparing a traditional rack and a MBR lol

My husband who is terrible at traditional style racking can rack a perfect rack of 9-ball in under 15 seconds.

I try to rack 8-ball and 9-ball under 15 seconds too, but when the table is unbalanced, old and bad cloth or a spot that is dented or uneven because of those stupid spot stickers they put on there, it gets pretty tough and annoying sometimes. Where as the MBR I used didn't have any problems. I played probably 20 or so games with the MBR in Hong Kong and many games the MBR was still on the table during the game, and it never affected my game play at all, but of course, I was going to miss the shot any way lol

i have been using the MBR for quite long and i can rack 9 balls in 5-10 sec while i would take longer on a traditional rack as i would need to rerack everytime i see 'holes'

I just got my magic rack yesterday. Works really good, but its almost like cheating. Breaking from the side, its almost impossible not to make the wing ball.

I like it, especially when using older balls that are often not the same size.

I think it just takes getting used to it but it seems VERY EFFECTIVE FOR providing a VERY TIGHT rack.

Joey, my poolhall has nothing but old balls, none are the same size. When I tried the MagicRack, I could not get a tight rack as there were several gaps due to the size differences of the old balls, and the inability to tighten the balls up against each other because they sit in the holes in the template. The breaks reflected this....sluggos galore, and we had to revert back to the triangle. What am I doing wrong? What is the secret you've discovered to getting a tight rack with old balls with the MagicRack? Thanks....

Each time I rack even with the MagicRack, I give a good look over the rack to make sure that the balls are all tight. If one or more are loose (and occasionally there will be a loose rack for various reasons) I provide a little TLC and tighten them up by moving them gently in toward one another and that usually even tightens up even the old balls.

I do that with my Delta 13...

I do that with my Delta 13, on the rare occasions it's necessary, and it never interferes with the game. It doesn't wear out either and it's good for every game to boot.

Glad I saw the Mezz 10 ball tourny use this, before seeing it I was a bit confused as to what this piece of film was going to do.

Going to try the home made template for 9-ball Mr. Jewett posted tonight with my son.

I have seen that template and still think that nothing beats the MBR, period.

CSI will have the Magic Rack available oatour National event in Vegas.
We have a limited number of sets available. (A set is 8 - 9 - 10 templates in one bag).

These are actually imprinted with our logos which makes it easier to see when on the tale. The newer models are clear material - which is a little thinner than the original white models.

The price is $25 per set. They will be available from Bad Boys Billiard Productions - at the tournament director area.

We have tried these at the US Bar Table and were really happy.

They will be allowed at our national event, and if your opponent wants to use one, he must let you use it also.

Delta 13 is the official rack of the US Open 10-Ball. It will the only rack used in the professional event. Also the Grand Master division - which will be really tough this year - is also using Delta 13.

The Delta 13 and Magic Rack are both very good products. They fulfill different needs and we are happy to be affiliated with both.

They will be available for people to see and make up their own mind.

I really like the option of using either the Magic Rack or the Delta 13 rack and a rule allowing for either player to use the Magic Rack makes sense to me.

Good luck with all of the events and don't be shy about trying to make a sale on the Magic Rack set. It's a very good product and I also like the idea of the new material being slightly thinner, yet still functional.

What's great about the Magic Rack is you get a consistent rack no matter if the break area is tapped, worn, or pock marked.

It's cheap, easy to use, and solves the racking complaints and problems at tournaments. The only negative is the players need to get in the habit of picking it back up after breaking.

This is exciting news! I thought this deserved it's own thread, so I started one and had a couple of questions for you (or any BCPAL rep) if you get a chance to address them:

And for those who were wondering about 8b... I've been using it for plenty of 8b (the 10b rack, I got an older generation that doesn't include the 8b version). Works great and I'd say I can clear it from the table after the break at least 8 times out of 10. You can just demolish the break and nothing is left in the racking area except the 8. Sometimes another ball from the 5th row. The trick to it is to remember that even if a ball appears to be over the rack, it may not be. The part of the ball that actually can touch the table/rack is the size of a pencil eraser. If that tiny area isn't on the rack, it can be moved from underneath the ball without disturbing it.

Definitely second the idea that you won't want this for 14.1. You gotta be able to clear it from the table asap. Having a ref use one of those ball markers to temporarily lift an impeding ball should be OK in the rare cases you can't in 8/9/10b.

Magic Ball Rack is the actual name of the rack

"Magic Ball Rack" is the actual name of the rack. The "Magic Rack" is the trademarked for a hanging rack for paint, plants, etc.

And, "Magic Rack" is also the name for that material teenage girls use to "enhance" a certain part of their bodies, just prior to going out on a big date:

Does anyone know if the set sold by Seybert's has the newer clear material? This one appears to be the Black version: http://www.seyberts.com/products/Magic_Ball_Rack_Pro_8-101918-298.html

This one by Pool Dawg appears to be white but I can't be sure:

Is one better than the other?
