Marty Herman - Get on Board Now Live!

Doing something for pool

At least he's trying to do something positive for this dying game we all love.
People are to quick to judge, shoot out negative comments and ridicule others who are investing there own time and money to do something positive for pool. You may not like his personality, his ways or him as a person and thats fine. You may not agree with his vision his ideas or what he is trying to accomplish. At least give the man a little credit for trying to do something positive for the game. weather he succeeds of fails at least he is making some effort to do something positive for pool.

There may be a reason why Marty Herman and Earl Strickland are, indeed, good friends, and I'll just leave it at that. One thing for sure, both are extremely passionate about pool. :angel2:

Do you call someone who sends messages out like this good for pool?

"****head i never said that dumbass try listening your a sucker listening to cleary he said i said it doesn't mean i said it anyways your out cya go on azb talk more shit thats where u shine go for it cause you'll be nowhere near our mission.buisnes from our team don't expect it if they do buy from u they'll be canned."

Tuned in yesterday out of pure curiosity ( I have no idea who he is).

Saw a personless pool table and was catching the glimpse of the top of a ball cap (i think) on occasion.

Anyhow...the talking point for that moment was TAR is hosed.
And bad for pool. Gambling and what not. Plus no business plan. Fawked TAR is.

Lenny he was higher on, but I missed his explanation as to why.
(sorry Lenny).

Thats what I caught in the 5 minutes of wondering wtf am I listening too???

Who is this cat?

HE told me I was worthless and that I should go back to my own country or wherever I came from. He also said he was going to talk to Archer and Varner about me and that Earl Hates my guts. I spoke with Earl right after and he said "Tell that guy to jump in the lake, hes not all there" This is after he has said that AZB is poison a cancer and that people on here just talk trash. Also after saying that hie is going to be nothing but professional. Its amazing.

Mark all i can say to you is dont let this guy get under your skin.I really never knew this guy until he called me out on a chat to play some 5k sets of straight pool and i agreed and when he was on the next tournament chat he told me to come to Boston to play and i asked him to post up with a reputable person and he sent me private messages telling me he was gonna put a bullet in my head and kill me and I still have a copy of his email.
.Marty doesnt have a single friend no matter what he says and is even barred from many poolrooms and tours because of his alligator mouth toward people and players. If you were to play him any game I would stake you for any amount of money.Honestly I have been told he never could play at all and if you happened to watch that 5 minutes or the whole 3 hour video you certainly got a complete picture of this guy.

Marty Herman

I am sorry to disagree with you. If Marty could actually do some good for the industry that would be one thing - but I have been on the other end of his crazy crap.

He is a detriment to the game. He has some talents but he is just on tilt too often. He actually threatened a las Vegas casino we had an event at, and also threatened to file complaints with the gaming commission. We were not doing anything improper - just Marty causing problems that I do not need to deal with.

I will ot have anything to do with him and suggest others do the same.

To suggest he is 'trying to do something for the game' only means we might be in worse shape than I thought we were.

Marty has some good ideas, but so does a lot of people. But he is not capable of doing anything positive for the game.

Mark:

I have to agree wholeheartedly with you. Although not on the "business end" of his dealings as you have, I've been on the "personal end" of his attacks, as many others here on AZB and live streams have. I'm still trying to figure out just how I'm a cancer cell. Do cancer cells look like little Sean Leinens under the microscope? :p

Seriously though, I'm of the type that I always try to give people second (and third) chances.

I took it upon myself to bolster my resolve, and watch one of Marty's "presentations" that were recorded:

http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/20644758

(I picked this one, because it was the very first one in his "series" that actually shows a thumbnail picture of a pool table, and not an upside down picture of his face, or the floor, or a huge thumb, or other image indicative to me that the video itself was wasted bandwidth -- where he was trying to figure out how to use the camera.)

This thing is 3 hours long. I watch where he's shooting and missing, and trying to convince the viewer that where that cueball ran to, he actually meant (i.e. he calls the cue ball position only after it has arrived there, or very close to it).

I bear through this, and try-try-try to absorb something from it. Much of what he says are drills we all know.

Somewhere in the video, he stops playing, and starts bullpit-pulpit pontificating about the cueing sports, where things (and who) are going wrong, how the pros here in the U.S. "have a weak information center" because of lack of what he terms are key things other players from around the world have (some of them I actually agree with him on -- e.g. 3-cushion knowledge). I soldier on, and weather the storm.

At about 2:18:30 [2 hours, 18 minutes, 30 seconds], things *REALLY* start to get interesting, because it's at this point where Marty starts in on lambasting AZBilliards, TAR, CSI, etc. -- with personal attacks on the people involved with these entities, *by name*. (Yes, he names Mike H., Jerry F., Justin C., yourself, et al.) He also loses it on occasion, shouting at the camera. I think he catches himself at points, realizes he's starting to appear like he's flipped his lid, and quite visibly engages some sort of internal "behavior governor" for his subsequent spiel (just conjecture on my part -- my trying to figure out what's going on).

I watch this thing all the way through. Some on here may call me a bonehead for wasting my time, but I took it as a challenge upon myself to watch one of these all the way through, to say I did it.

Heck, we've all been through "guest speaker" talks at trade shows, and the guest speaker turned out to be a bomb, right? I took this as no different.

Looking back, I probably wasted 3 hours of my life. But at the same time, I can say, "I did it! I did it!" in making it all the way through. And at the same time again, I felt like I was standing over the grate of a sewer in Manhattan, and back-pressure of built-up gas blew the contents of the sewer all over me. Man, I needed to take a shower after watching that...

The guy is a complete and utter arsehole and there is nothing to debate. Everytime I see him in a chat he's a mister know it all and berates everybody that defies him!!! I wouldn't care if he wasn't around tomorrow. Sorry to be so harsh but he's not a nice person and I have no tolerance for douchebags like him :kma:

Ummmm ... OK??? Dude, do you live in the real world??

I have absolutely no idea who this guy is, but, if he is a nutty as everyone is saying, and you have this threat in writing, he may well be capable of hurting someone.

In today's world, not notifying the police may cost someone harm. IMO better safe than sorry. Let the police decide the best way to handle this.

I'm amazed that no one else figured it out...

...I guess it's just my highly trained referee skills (you know, behavioral analysis interviewing and that kind of stuff) that allowed me to see it.

That's KT in disguise with his voice masked (by all that high dollar equipment)...
