BUCKY BELL robbed EUGENE (who I like) when EUGENE COULD play.

Who did you like: EUGENE vs PAUL TURNER (20 yrs ago)???

IMO EB needed, at a minimum, the 7 from DM and EB was very, very good.

Eugene Browning came thru town about a year ago and couldn't beat the houseman(a local shortstop). That's not to say he couldn't play some in the past.

He played pretty well some years back, but hardly in Kieths league. Not really that close.

I saw him two years ago and he is a shadow of what he used to be.

Keith has a bigger name he was, and is very flamboyent, and awesome to watch and has alot of west-cost bias. But as an all-around champion David plays all games champ speed 3-c, 1-p, snooker, banks, 8-ball all champion speed not just big and little table 9-ball.

Not knocking keith's game at all. Keith is a champion among champions, but my personal opion I think david is a better player in every game.

I agree the only game that I would give Keith a chance at playing David would be 1-pocket,Keith plays that game as good as anyone.

David,

25 years ago Keith had the best of it, I dont know if Keith is still playing or how much, they are 2 great champions and it would be great to see them in the box somewhere some time, but I aint holding my breath...

Fatboy

P.S. I'm gona call you David until you say who you are, however to save some face, David you should just say who you are, nobody would be upset, in a few months of "Rosterman" they might be less forgiving. Just my $0.03.

How am I showing Keith any disrespect? Just because I'm challenging the idea that he's not the king of the bar table? I have seen both players play and I think David is the better player. Some others think Keith is. Big flipping deal. You have your opinions and I have mine. It is simple as that. I'm not going discuss Efren vs. David kicking anymore. Unlike you, I have had the opportunity to seem them both play live and on T.V., so it's easy for me to make these assumptions. Again, I don't think I'll discuss the "kicking" argument anymore. BTW, the nuthugging comment is lame and juvenile. Good work! Oh yeah, you got the 8!

Alright I apologize for that comment. You did call me an idiot, however. About Keith, it's because you were indirectly calling him a liar. Thats what I meant.

Um, they were locked in a race. I guess I am out of my mind then. May I ask how much time you have spent around either player?

I ask that because I have spent time with both of them. I went cross country with Dave one year.

I guess you know about the part where Efren credits his kicking prowess to his 3 cushion experience? Well guess what, David Matlock has a ton of 3 cushion experience as well. Imagine that.

And any top 3 cushion player probably spots both of them in the kicking game.

So yes, David Matlock knows as much or more than Efren about kicking. I wouldn't be so quick to bet your house against David in that game if I were you.

No offense JB, I got carried away. Has David ever offered to gamble with Efren at 3-C? Because I'm pretty sure Efren would take him up on that offer. They should set something up!!

A fellow down here in my area that at one time was a pretty sporty player said Matlock could kick safe about as good as anyone he had ever seen. Said it was Very impressive.

I would just like to, again, insert my 2 cents. :)

I have met David Matlock several times. The David Matlock I know is a very unassuming, gentle, and humble man.

I know Keith McCready and can state with 100-percent confidence that threads like this, which put one player down over another, isn't something that would be his "cup of tea," for lack of a better word. For any ignoramus to say that Keith's only game is bar table pool reveals how lacking this thread is with the facts. Since I know Keith McCready's game, I could provide an explanation of why he excels in many pocket billiard games other than bar table pool with a big cue ball, to include snooker and banks and three-cushion billiards, but for what? So that someone can reply and say I am wrong? LOL! No, thank you.

Keith McCready respects David's game, as I am sure David Matlock respects Keith's game.

That said, it is a shame that threads like this are created and end up being a pissing match between posters, when the players who are being spoken about would never engage in this kind of back-and-forth colloquy whatsoever. Just a little food for thought.

Browning stayed in my PRoom for a few months many years ago. Depending on which gas was in his tank...he could play some! Probably the best pool I have seen in a long matchup was shot by him. He gave our star the 8 and won.

He was on the moon.

I go with Eugene. I was with Cliff in Charlotte when Eugene shot him full of holes. Left Cliff on the air barrel, if you will.

One thing for sure, I would betcha that Roosterman's brother would be appalled at some of the colloquy in this thread. :embarrassed2:

Dave Matlock, has too much class to do any thing like this. It is not Dave Matlock.

Thanks Bill. The wording of the post I included made me think it might be him but based on what others have said, looks like I am dead wrong.

Nice post JAM. Keith's previous post was great too. I talked to Chuck Ralston about this & he was going to contact David himself. I can only say that Chuck has not responded on here due to access to a computer. I won't pretend to speak for David but I can think that he hasn't posted here because it would serve no purpose. I think it is obvious to many that David - Keith are friends & have no battle between them. Hopefully, one day, they will both me in the Hall of Fame & if a building was ever created & players listed alphabetically - they would be side by side.

I have been told who Roosterman is & it makes sense because I actually met Roosterman at a poker table in Vegas a few years back. Let us just say that the attitude fits. His brother is a great player and great gambler. His brother has made many a trip to STL and each time has been nothing but a respectful gambler.

Oh, and I believe that Matlock knows 56 diamond systems. When it comes to kicking - On a big table, David can hold his own against anyone - on a bar table, no one can step up to him.

Everybody already knows who he is. (NOT Matlock I assure you).

Every man is an enigma only unto himself.

I think I know who Hemi thinks he is, since he referred to JJ. A poster with a similar name posted on onepoket.org about JJ's game. He has some very strong opinions about his brother's game. But I didn't get the connection here since he is talking about Matlock. I could be all wrong, but that's my guess.
