Some posters think it's a pain in the butt to keep answering the same questions over and over again and will just tell a newbie to google it or look up
a post on the subject from 2 years ago. But this is a talk forum, not Google
or Wikipedia. It's as close to face to face as most of us will ever get to this level of expertise from top notch players and teachers.
That's what you guys are. Teachers, facing a new class every year, trying to teach the same lessons over and over and answering the same question every year.
I want to talk to Jay or Tate or Jam or Nikon or Fatboy or Terry or maybe even Billy or Keith or a multitude of teaching pros. How cool is that. To ask Jay a question and have him answer you personally.
And ,gee! The questions are all about the same general thing. Billiard Sports. What a surprise.
I personally want to thank all of you guys who have helped me in the past and I hope you never get tired of it and keep it up for the new guys.:clapping:
Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner!
When I told a friend of mine Robin Dodson answered a question for me here, he couldn't believe it. He's one who doesn't want to bother with all this internet crap... He does come lurking a little bit now and then, after hearing my story.
It's so cool that so many movers and shakers in the pool world participate here. And it's cool that most of them don't have a problem answering questions they must have answered a couple thousand times before.
And one other thing... recommending (or more emphatically
"suggesting") the use of the search function is all well and good, but it isn't as discerning as one might like. Sure, if you have a loooong time to dig thru hundreds of posts on a subject you
might find the answer you're looking for. Key word there is
might. But think how discouraging it must be for new visitors here who finally get up the nerve to ask a question, only to be told, rather bluntly, "use the damned search function. It's what it's there for!"
end rant/
Thanks again, to everyone who participates here. This place is pretty awesome.
