Well, I was not sure of when to post it but with Mitchs okay I decided it would be best. Well most of us know Ashley Furniture was giving away furniture items as part of the raffle taking place at Galveston. Mitch won the dining room set valued at $8,000. He has been given nothing but a run around about it and I would like to help him resolve this. If you have a raffle such as this where lots of monies were collected and someone wins, you give them there prize and that is that.

WOULD LIKE TO LET EVERYONE KNOW ASHLEY FURNITURE DID NOT HAVE ANY WRONG DOING IN THIS AT ALL AND HOPE THEY CONTINUE TO SUPPORT POOL AND TOURNAMENTS.

Weird. I am currently having a little problem with Ashley furniture as well. I own one of their leather recliner/rockers that I bought from Farmer's Furniture here in Georgia and the frame broke while under the 3-year warranty. I took it to the Farmer's Furniture repair center the 3rd week of September. I called them a few days ago and they told me they are still waiting on parts. But the home office of Ashley (Ashleigh?) told me they no longer have the parts for this chair. So they have the option of fulfilling the warranty, which says they replace if they cannot repair, or ripping me off. I think that decision has already been made.

retail furnature biz is down 50-70% in most markets, as a result its safe to say Ashley is busted. And their customer service isnt what it was.

My gut tells me that jerry or mitch arnt going to be very happy for some time.:(

Jerry,

Sounds like it's time to ease up on the Reeces Cups! LOL :D

Hope you get it resolved!

I bought a dining room set from Ashley and actually had 2 of the chairs with a slight damage. They had no issue with replacing the chairs immediately.

I am gonna guess, and strictly a guess, this has to do with the tournament organizers and not Ashley themself.

Has Mitch tried to call Ashley? You dont state who was giving him the runaround.

No disrespect intended towards anyone, but I believe that Ashley Furniture is a lower end retailer and doubt whether they even carry a $8K diding room set.

Sounds fishy to me.

Have him write an email to Ashley Furniture store explaining
when he won the prize, what it was, and what he was told.

Have him CC the Better Business Bureau www.bbb.org
two of the local tv stations two local radio stations and
and Howard Stern www.howardstern.com

Most compainies really don't want to get involved in
the folks on the cc line.

Make sure that he keeps a list of who he talked to and
on what date and what they told him.

Best of luck

Mitch did call Ashley furniture, whoever it was handling the raffle offered to give him a $1000 for the dining room set and he declined, he has gotten the runaround ever since.

Change to rooms to go.. Plus there cheaper..

We bought our mattress set there. Well after 3 years the mattress protector with a 10 year warranty failed us when the little dog pissed on the bed. This was not the first time but the others there was NO issue.. Wash the sheets and protector put them back on the bed. Not a big deal.

But when it went through I was pissed.. Went back to RTG they told me to call the 800 number (and gave it to me) well they send out a service tech he looks at it writes up a report. RTG calls me 4 days later and says there going to replace the protector and the mattress. I had 30 days to go to the store and pick one out. I had a new mattress and box spring delivered Friday.

What percentage do I get if I get the full amount from them?

My Ashley experience

Jim

I got a nice set from them that retailed for over $5k. I only got 6 chairs, the table and a hutch. Had I gotten more on the ensemble, it would have pushed $8k retail.

My experience with them was excellent. Even when they delivered and one of the boards' stain on the table was just a little off - just a hair darker. They noticed it, I didn't. In a few days they replaced the table. Their install guys on both occassions did a very good job. This was less than 2 years ago.

I hope Jerry and Mitch get satisfaction. I wanted you guys to hear a good service story.

Mitch is a nice guy. One of the few good players in AZ i get along with. This is no good. I have a couch and an entertainment center from Ashley. The broke the entertainment center during delivery and replaced a week later. That was end of last year. I would do the email thing with the cc to all the head hunchos.

Sorry Lenny

But this is not the first or last Raffle Rip Off we have heard of. I never buy Raffle tickets or even 50/50 Juke box Raffles. From My experience they are mostly rigged. One place I know has a reputation for the Owner or Owner's wife to win their Raffle every time. Of course they are the ones drawing the number. The same owner uses very creative math when making pay outs from Tournaments. Now he is wondering why he doesn't draw a bigger crowd. In an other venue I am still waiting to get paid for a tournament series I won. I have pretty much written it off even if it burns my butt.

It seems to me Rip off is now a way of doing business in America. The Corporation offer the world in their advertisement and deliver crap. The public keeps buying into the Hype.

On the other side of the coin, I have donated services to Silent Auctions or raffles for non profit organizations. 90% of the time they are purchased but never used. The last one, I contacted the Deli Store owner who was in Charge and he told me they didn't even get the Prime Rib he donated after 2 months. If contacted I will do as promised, But I don't know who won the service.

You could probably get the 7 ball.

I spoke with Mitch a few times about this in the past few weeks. He was given a name/contact from the Galveston Tournament. He was told he won a complete dining set with total value of $8000. I think it was much more than just a table and chairs. It was the big item that they were promoting at the event.

I think after one more call to Ashley I would threaten with reporting to the Better Business Bureau and go that route.

Mitch also got screwed by the Galveston Tournament Directors as well. He was informed that he could play in the Amateur Event along with players like Gene Albrecht so he made arrangements to get to Galveston and play. Once he arrived he was told (along with 7 others) that he would not be allowed in the tournament and had to play at the Pro level.

I hope someone fixes this for him. Mitch is hands down the nicest most sincere kid I have come across in this sport!!

mama always said don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see !!!

but i think it's getting worse than that nowadays .

i have a feeling his dining room set is in the same place as the leather living room set i won in that raffle.
