Mosconi Cup Unpicked Players Bail Out

If Mr. Wilson truly expects people to sacrifice so much extra time after already being cut, for a chance at making the team next year, then good luck to him in finding three more suckers*ahem* players next year.

he probably didn't recognize me, I didn't have my alligator jacket

Those are some high powered teachers, Lyn, you were very lucky to have that kind of exposure. I've had the good fortune to be around a couple of those guys too, and it's been critical in my overall development (not just in pool).

I actually met Watchez in St. Louis when we were there playing some high dollar pool....he probably didn't recognize me, I didn't have my alligator jacket and boots on.

CJ,

That's what it says in his signature line. Who am I to doubt ;) .

My teachers were Crane, Hubbart, Sigel, Howey, Casanzio, Grau and a few others. I've taught no one who will admit it  .

All I know is without Earl on the team, I watch it without cringing the entire time....

Last night I went to Big Stix in Breese, IL to support and watch the US Mosconi Ciup team. During the night I had the opportunity to speak to both captain Mark Wilson and retired Navy SEAL Lt. Commander Amir Pishdad, who is acting as a vice-captain. During our conversation I asked Mark some pointed questions. Another AZ member was sitting next to me who also heard what Mark had to say.

Bottom line: everything I have posted in this thread is accurate. No conjecture. Those that have their panties in a bunch defending their buddies can go pound sand.

Here's a quarter, a patriotic one.

Way to go Lou. You are great!!!!! Everything you say will be considered verified and credible from here on out. In fact, you don't even need to post because we will automatically know your thoughts and opinions are correct. You only need to post thumbs up or thumbs down and we will know how to proceed with our threads and our lives.

I am sure Mark loved having some internet douche bag ask him "pointed questions" at an event.

Mahna mahna
Everyone but Lou
Knows he is a dick

I've known Mark for over 15 years and we've played 9ball and 3C together many times. My wife bought me a copy of his book for Christmas last year and he included a very touching personal note to her.

Last night he came up to me to say hello and when I brought up the topic of the Mosconi Cup 8 he was very forthcoming.

Thanks for sharing, Lou. :)

I have never understood why some members on this forum like to pounce others in a thread. It is cyber-bullying at its finest. I konw you're a thick-skinned RSB alumni, so you're not affected by it. It is hard to read a thread when this happens. I'm not sure why some seem to take great pleasure in flaming and posting mean-spirited remarks. It's almost like there's a gang of bullies in this thread!

I participated in an interview of a high-profile celebrity recently, and he said though he does contribute to Twitter and other social media outlets, he wasn't affected by the nasty remarks. It was their belief that the Internet is for haters. I didn't understand it then when he said it, but now I do. :sorry:

I'm sure that was the last "topic" he was expecting to talk about

Did it surprise him when you brought up the topic of the Mosconi Cup?

I'm sure that was the last "topic" he was expecting to talk about, must have caught him completely off guard. ;)

I thought the same thing. I view this forum like it's our sports page for billiards. Open up the newspaper and we get all the talk, stats, game reviews, opinions, etc regarding various sports. Nothing for billiards unless you come here. This is a valid discussion, and to discuss it is a privilege. We don't have an espn outside the lines investigative journalist in our sport like they had for all inside happenings in the big pro sports. So if lou talks to Mark Wilson and reports it back here, how is that bad?

I find all opinions for and against interesting. I love this sport and all that goes along with it.
GO USA! 11-7 victory this year.

One last post on this.

We've hit 15,000 views on this and I think all sides have had expressed their views multiple times in every variation possible. With the Mosconi Cup just a few days away why don't we all set aside our differences and get behind the team.

time for a round

That sounds like a good plan Lie.

Damn autocorrect.

autocorrect was telling me something. Now that's a smartphone.

It's not what he says, it's how he says it.

37 pages?
Wow. It only takes a sentence or two.
By asking players to go around as a group and "compete" for a limited number of spots, you are not only asking them to "perform" you are making them suck up and kiss ass. (Yes i said it). Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional.
Sorry, but who in their right mind wants to continue to kiss ass after they weren't picked?
It's not rocket science.

It's not what he says, it's how he says it.
It is what he says! I have been cordial with him and others with different opinions.

In his latest post I am told to "pound sand". Some can have an adult debate and conversation. Some can't!

He is friends with Mark Wilson and oblivious to anything else. But, Forgets these 3 have been defended in a respectful way.

While camp MW and particularly Lou have gone public and dragged them through the mud.

The 3 and their friends have not started threads trashing mark or maligning mark.

That is the big difference!

I recognized you. But your disguise wasn't because you were missing your shoes. It was the other end and the top of your head that had something missing.

I was waiting for you to offer me the 7 or ask me to teach you something.

It’s the internet, JAM. And you’re right, after all these years it doesn’t affect me, RSB was way tougher. It’s actually funny, I was on the phone earlier this week with MG and he alluded to the same thing: keep up the good work, your skin is thick enough to take it.

In this case, you can almost draw a social media wiring diagram on who feels their ox is getting gored. At it’s core it’s just a couple of guys who are friends with some of the players who flaked out on the MC, don’t like that being pointed out, and can’t stand being shown they don’t know nearly as much as they would like everyone to think. In CJ’s case it’s more that MW is putting his heart and soul into coaching the US Mosconi Cup team, while during CJ’s tenure he couldn’t even be bothered to wear team colors. By attacking me in this thread he gets to attack MW by proxy and try and tear down all his good work.

All through this thread it’s been the same thing: you don’t know, all conjecture, why doesn’t someone pick up the phone and call MW. So now look what happens when someone does speak to MW and gets to the truth. Those that had their panties in bunch before -- and had relied on the “you don’t know” defense -- now have their Victoria Secrets so wedged up their behinds that they can barely breathe, lol.

I can manage no-valued-added posters like MahnaMahna and Champ alias Timothy Rose easily enough by putting them on Ignore, so it’s all good. But thank you for speaking up, JAM.
