My Health, not pool related. I might disappear, but i'm not running and hiding

Mr Wilson, Jerry please move in a day or two please I just want ppl to know what happened in the last 48 hours. So I'd really appericate this in the main forum for a couple days. if thats ok? if not i understand.

I said lots today about the players and Barry, and might be in the hospital unable to answere any questions. I just dont want anyone to think im ducking anything, I hope Barry calls me, I didnt intend to belittle him or insult him in any way, or any of the players. I just looked at everything before I said what I did.

My back has been on the outs for the past 4 months, then 2 weeks ago something popped one morning when I woke up. And Gin!!! no back pain, i havent taken even a asprin in over 2 weeks. This is better than $$$.


Then last Saturday I had to drive to OC, I didnt want to, had to. 45 minutes each way, half way there I felt like I got shot in the belly button. I have had a umbilical hernia on top of another hernia resulting from my 5 back operations. Got up sunday felt ok, went and played pool didnt feel like action but played good, real good infact. Then all of a sudden I felt like I got shot again. the pain hasnt went away. I been in bed (as usual) because of this not my back for the past 24 hours and probably a few days. i hope sooner, i need a operation ASAP this hurts bad..


I have to go in the next couple days for a operation on the umbillical Hernia before a intestion pops out with it. Then i'm really introuble. so I may disappear.


I only am posting this because of the thread i started today about the US Open. If I disappear, I'm not hiding-i'll be in the hospital.

I'm 44 with a 88 year old body.

Hope you start feeling better Eric. I am trying to get the procedure where they go in and deaden the nerves like a womans saddle
block.
If you have lower back pain it might be an option for you.
Everyone I know who has had surgery on their back, wishes they didn't. Good luck.

You know Eric, i was just sitting here and thinking about how im going thru a knock down drag out custody battle over my son whom i love more then life itself and how its effecting me literally every hour of every day! and asking myself where does this us open bullsh t or pool in general sit in my life? You just helped me figure out that i have said and posted and posted and said enuff on this matter! Perspective ! I know you dont know me from a can of paint but please get thru your medical matters cuz we only get one shot at this and health and family are wat really matters at the end of the day!!! Be well friend!
 
i missed the comments,but i don't know which barry you are talking about.surely you haven't spoken about our mutual friend barry szamboti

i hope your health concerns are fixed,this must rest heavily on your mind.feel free to call me from the hospital,i have spent weeks there and can offer sympathy

LOL. That's funny. Stop ducking. J/k. Takes a lot of courage to tell people you care about things they may not want to hear. I'm sure that you are able to be just as understanding had you been in their position.

And if Barry want's to kick your arse....don't worry, I got your back.....back of the ambulance taking you to the hospital! J/k.

Be careful, don't let them cut out things you need...you'll never get it back man. And try to think of a way not to get anymore operations, even if you have to go through a little pain and be assisted by a cane, or in your case, a butler. During competitions when I had multiple games, sometimes the team took pain killers to alleviate the pain in certain areas. We had ankle sprains, neck stiffness, back....man did we feel it the next day when the pain medicine wore off. 10x worse. Pains and aches is a way the body tells us to stop playing and rest, or we would further injure ourselves. And that's usually what happened.

You don't realize the harm done at the time because it's only an extra 45 minutes of play, but in that time, a tendon can tare, or a cartilage wares down.

So if you're feeling pain now try to wither this storm and reassess when you feel better, if possible. Maybe you can start stretching before playing pool. Anything. Hope you find the answer.
 
been there ,done that, with the umbilical hernia. You'll be up and around in no time. Just no lifting of pool cues weighing more than 21 ounces.
