Well I have been telling myself a weekly live streaming podcast about pool featuring guests such as pro players, cue makers, industry personalities and the like would be a good idea. So this Thursday I am going to kick it off with Mark Griffin as my guest.

This will be a live streaming show dealing with all things pool related with a focus on professional pool in the United States. We will start off with a short list of topics to get rolling and hopefully react to some interaction with the chat room in order to guide the discussion. If you cant catch the podcast live they will be available for download on our site and available on our YouTube channel.

My first guest is Mark Griffin. For those who are not familiar with Mark he is the CEO of CueSports International ( http://www.playcsipool.com/ ) as well as a partner in Diamond Tables and a partner in The Action Report. We will be discussing the upcoming Shane/Earl match, the 2012 USBTC and its relocation to the Grand Sierra Hotel. Also we plan to discuss things going on here on the forums and topics such as the ABP and all of the chatter at the Open in reference to big moves that Bonus Ball is making.

I was always hesitant to get into something like this podcast because I have always tried to stay in the middle of things pretty much or keep my mouth shut. Well I'm tired of that and I have no doubt some people will not like some of the things I cover but I really believe pool needs more open discussion of the things going on and I'm going to stand up and take the heat if it comes up. I hope we get lots of viewpoints from the chat room and all will be treated with courtesy. Unless someone is just trolling in which case we will call out the Spartons and swing the hammer (Spartons is old school reference BTW).

I hope all of you that have any interest and have the time will join us when you can to share your opinons. If all goes well it should be fun, develop some interesting discussions and maybe start a few arguments. If anyne has ideas for guests (within reason...Efren probably isnt going to make it anytime soon) or ideas for topics please post them up.

Show starts this Thursday at 9PM Eastern/ 6PM Pacific on theactionreport.com . Hope to see you there.

Wow, this could get very interesting. I like that Justin already wonders 'what could go wrong?' LOL!

Sounds like a good idea to me. Good Luck and don't hold any punches!

I've got it down on my "don't miss list" for sure. Mark has been a leader in the industry for quite a few years now, and he is someone who can answer all the tough questions.

I'll be joining the chat with a few of those questions, like..."Mark, how is it you have all these great events, that everyone attends, All that guaranteed, never fail, prize money, a hard working CSI staff of dedicated people,...all that money in the bank....and a beautiful wife."...I want to be like you, when I grow up.

Seriously, (which I was)...looking forward to it..

PS..Justin, you have got to get Joe Rogen on there sometime, he is a riot.

Joe is the man...and one of my big inspirations for getting off my ass and doing this. I think it will be a cool thing to have a dedicated venue to talk live and with instant feedback about the pool world. A lot of it happens in stream chats anyway but this way its focused instead of in the background and we get the input of guests. I'm looking forward to giving it a shot and I hope people find something in it that interests them.

Unless I get too busy with a big corporate merger or one of my 3 girlfriends has to practice up for her massage final exam, I should probably be able to attend.

I couldn't get past the topic list..... The rise of Bonus Ball.... Glad to see people putting money into the industry and that's all I can say about that...

I gotta get out to vegas and get in on this podcast. Cause a whole lot could go wrong. :)

Justin, I think it's a great idea, to go behind the scenes so to speak, and bring out what it takes to support this industry besides the Pro players. There's a lot more to this industry that makes it work, that has to take place before any pool playing is actually done.

Glen

Will it be available for download?

Yes.

To start with the video file will be on our website so you can download it. The podcast will also be uploaded to the TAR YouTube channel so people can watch it there if they want without having to download it.

The plan is that once I figure everything out we are going to get it on the iTunes podcast listings. I am going to give this a solid effort and try to build something useful and entertaining out of it. We'll see what happens.

Thanks Glen. I think you would be a good guest if the schedules ever work out. I am sure people would be interested in seeing you go over the table in the studio and explain what makes a good playing table while pointing it out in real time so they can see exactly what you are talking about.

The TAR podcasts were one of the coolest pool media concepts ever and I believe they were the first to do it. Restarting the podcast program is the best news in a long time. Kudos to Justin.

OH MAN! I see a couple of topics here that I think are going to make few waves. If everyone is going to shoot from the hip this is going to be very interesting and give us some insight.
I think this is a great idea and hope it works out for you guys.

Kudos 4 Justin !!!

Justin, I think U have only just scratched the surface of giving
Pocket Billiards a shot in the arm that it needs.

Not only do U love the game but U are a good fit 4 the technology
end of this beautiful game.

I'm looking forward to being at the studio live again 4 another TAR
matchup.

3 girlfriends?! You must of already done the big merger if you had that money to get all of their "procedures" done. I hope the 4 of you have a very happy post-op life together!!!

PS: These podcasts were awesome when they started. I can't wait to see the new ones. Definitely a great direction to take J.

Check out the feature article about TAR in the November issue of Billiards Digest. An in depth look at what it takes to pull off a big money match, and more interesting stuff like that. I hope you like it cause yours truly wrote it.
