Parica beat Svb for the 2nd time

In the words of Mr. Watchez, "Don't F with The Pinoys."

Many said it was a fluke the frst time Jose beat Svb, now its the 2nd time what do you think?

I heard Jose only missed like one ball. Luck or not Parica brought his highest gear to that match, so what can Shane do? Look's like some of the ol' timers are bringing there old speeds to the US Open this year! Davenport is still undefeated!!!

pinoys

It seems like the philipinos are about the only ones that can stop Shane. Busty knocked him out of the ten ball in Galveston(Mika lucked out to put him in the losers side at hill hill) Parica's beat him the past two years in the open. If Shane can deal with the pinoys in tourneys he would rarely lose. With that said though I believe Shane(along with Johnny A) are about the only americans that pinoys aren't in a big hurry to gamble with.

we all have opinions

But I have been watching Efren, Luat, and Jose play since 1985, and no living person has to beat any of them. Jose still has the same attitude about pool. He believes he is one of the best players in the world, and with his skills, he is. Parica has a chance to win the title. JMO

No BS there. Parica is a top-notch player, no doubt about it. I don't think there is any appreciable difference between SVB/ Parica in a single race to 11. Its a pick-em all day. Now, if you want to go to 100 or play 1p, that is a different song.

yep thats where your diff lies, SVB may have even odds in a short race, but would get his battle ship sunk playing Parica in a race to 100.

#1 its 9 ball.
#2 its a very short race.

At this caliber anyone can beat anyone else in a short race. I really dont think you can say anything about which player is "better" given the circumstances of their meetings.

They need to play a loooooong race to really make a sound judgement.

A pretty strong statement, I have no doubt that Shane can be staked playing Parica in a race to 100. Do you want to put up the money for Parica? I didn't think so.

I agree: Short race 9-ball, coin flip. SVB by odds, but 11 is too short for them to matter.

Short Race 10-ball SVB has the edge. Slightly greater odds because of the break, but still no lock.

1P - Parica, for now.

10-ball long race, SVB all day long.

Mika lucked out to put him in the losers side at hill hill

Actually, if you bothered to watch the match, you'd have realized that Shane also fluked a ball in to run out in game 5 or so. You'd also know that in the past 6-8 months, they've played 4 times, all which have gone hill-hill. Mika has won 2 of these, as has Shane.

Shane is an awesome player, but he is beatable. As others have mentioned, anyone can win in these shorter races. The pinoys seem to be especially good at taking advantage of this.

Awhile back (at this years Predator 10ball maybe?), Shane and Alex were playing late night sets. The two played countless hours over the few days, and Alex was up at least $5k at one point. I'm not sure what the final result was.

Again, Shane's a monster, but he can't always win. I never understood why people are surprised when he loses the odd match. All the greats lose on occasion.

Race to 11 is a good set, if this tournament was race to 21, I guarantee 21 would also become a short race. Before the race to 100 stuff with TAR, I dont remember many people racing to more than 30. Parica is a champion and has been a champion for longer than SVB has had a pulse. SVB is a phenom, hes not anywhere near his peak or prime yet in pool years. Sometimes people have your number as well.

Jose cold whooped him!

I agree except for the last part. I didnt see the match but heard it was like 11-8. If true that isnt a whoopin that is one mistake from being the otherway around.

I think people forget that for awhile there Parica was "THE MAN" in money games. He was a monster and depending on who you talk to for a long time Efren was looking up at him. The man deserves respect and it shouldnt shock or surprise anyone when he wins a race to 11 9 ball against any living human.

As far as the race to 100 thing I would love to see it. Parica approached us about doing something like that with Shane a couple years ago in Olathe. Nothing ever came of it. Maybe I will talk to Jose and see how the old stakehorse situation is looking.
