they all played a similar style, I simply followed suit

Dave Yeager was another player that came out of the Buddy Hall stable. He rarely turned the cue ball loose with a short, jacked up "punch" stroke. He had the cue ball on a string and spun it with little effort.

We used to joke about charging him less for time since the cue ball had less mileage on it.

Best,
Mike

Yes, Dave played the style that Omaha John, Weldon Rogers and David Matlock used.

They, of course, didn't call it 'The Touch of Inside," although that was the best description. Omaha John used to call it "Floating the Cue Ball" (which is the signature of TOI) and would even do it with the Big Cue Ball.

Dave Yeager was also a master of the Big Cue Ball and Matlock was maybe the best in the world at that time....they all played a similar style, I simply followed suit and developed a model that could be taught to anyone. 'the GAME is the teacher'

You're right, I was never mentioned with the likes of Earl Strickland, Johnny Archer, Mike Sigel, and Efren Reyes.

Nope, I said that I had never heard of you. Pretty sure everyone else in the World has heard of you. If not, you would make sure that you told them.

Sorry, I didn't catch that Newspaper Article. What was it?

Hi, I'm CJ Wiley. Perhaps if you've never heard of me and you have several hours, I could tell you who I am.

Just a little public service that I do for people that have never heard of me.

Hey, where ya going. Come on back. It will only take 4 or 5 hours.

And then they went and invented the Internet. It still takes hours and hours of reading, but at least, a person has the option of scrolling past.

You are definitely delusional. At no time did anyone take my picture on the road. <-How can that be ?..You have posted thousands from your 'private collection', right here on this forum !

Face it, you were not a big gambler, and you were not discussed by road players. I'm one of the few gamblers that's won over a million dollars in high dollar matches, and you were NEVER mentioned as a potential opponent........NOT ONCE!!! <--Now who's being delusional ?..I know of three people here in Phoenix alone, who told you when you were here, that you could get played with !

We knew 100% of the action players in the United States, and you were not included. Down in Ft. Worth you're remembered as a "good playing short stop".....that's all.<--Dang, there it is again! :o

I "real-eyes" it may be awkward for you, but I wish you would spend a few posts, refuting some
of my well wisher's, instead of always picking on poor me ! :sorry:.....BTW, you mention him a lot. If you can locate him, you may find that Jr. (Weldon Rogers) will give you a much more accurate line on my game, (and my gamble) than you seem to be getting from your 'golf foursome' ! :groucho:

PS..And so would almost every "Roadie" you've ever mentioned !..(You seem to have a terminal case,
of "generation-gapitus")
:p

How could 'Blue Hog Ridr' not have noticed your favorite author's quote before ???...YOU average posting it about 7 or 8 times per thread ! (est 5,000 views) ..The only claim I think you may have made more often, is calling me a 'non-playing shortstop'!..If you don't mind, I'll take Alfie, Jersey Red, or Beanies version, over your fellow 'APA League team', C-player's remarks !...You should be ashamed of yourself, for 'dodging' me in Phoenix !..Forget "the Game"..."I Would Have Been Your Teacher" :groucho:

PS..I see you missed a coupla' posts again..(50 & 51) :p

Aloha,

I'm interested in hearing your "dodging" tale. Do tell.

I love story time.

I traveled with Weldon for many years and he never mentioned your name.

We took no prisoners and played anyone and everyone

He's dreaming if he thinks I would "dodge" him or anyone else when I was on the road. We took no prisoners and played anyone and everyone that would gamble in those days.

Tell that to Scott Frost, Fast Lenny, and Bernie ! (ask them)..Your mouth has once again, overloaded your bragging ass !...You would not even drive cross town, to look me up to play one pocket... You were in your prime, and I was WAY over the hill !... Nice try though.

PS..Sorry, but I'm talking about a man's game, not coin flipping 9 ball. (although I might have won there too !).. :groucho:
PPS..Weldon WILL remember me, if you jog his mind a little !.. I was in my haitus, when you guy's were still green kid's ! (not my fault :o)..He always needed weight, from me, and got it ! (but not one-handed, very strong game, up in the air)

So what's the big deal with not knowing of a few road players here and there.

Apparently, Dick didn't have to be a big gambler in order for him to be accepted into the One Pocket Hall of Fame.

I hope that is not what is really at the heart of your problems, is it CJ.

That someone received an award that you didn't. Sounds like a little jealousy to me.

At least that is what is coming off the words that you have been typing.

Every Sport has had and will continue to have the all time Greatest.

I wasn't aware that any of them had to be Gamblers in order for them to be recognized as such.

I know that pool players are many times recognized as being the best because of having the greatest amount of heart, re money thrown down.

That doesn't necessarily make them the best either. Just the best at gambling at the sport.

There are many great pool players that earned their way and gambling a little is secondary to what they achieved.

Last year, Scooter was recognized as the best gambler with the most heart. But, as good as he may be, he isn't quite the World Beater is he.

In real time on AZ, you don't read Dick typing about himself and how great he was on a daily basis, do you. He may toss out a little info here and there but that is about all he does. He hasn't pounded people with it.

So, maybe that is the real difference between you and Dick.

Seems to be that last year CJ, you turned down a 10 K appearance fee to show up and gamble with the best at what ever Tourney where Scooter gambles.

Yeah, I know that you had reasons, or excuses. But who wouldn't show and snap off an easy 10 if they weren't actually flapping off.

One thing for sure, we never dodged anyone, and that included Efren Reyes

Scott Frost wasn't around Phoenix in those days, and I've only seen him one time since at Kolby's Billiards (he has never mentioned your name to me). I don't know "Fast Lenny" or Bernie, so I can't ask them.

One thing for sure, we never dodged anyone, and that included Efren Reyes, Rodney Morris, Danny D. Mike Sigel, Tony Fargo, Ronnie Allen, Johnny Archer, Dennis Hatch, Rafael Martinez, Fransisco Bustemante, Rudalpho Luat, Parica, Mark Tadd, Reid Pierce, "Country Calvin", etc. etc. etc.

I still to this day have never heard of you, except for your presence on these forums. You may have been a "good playing short stop" or maybe a hair better.

It is hopeless trying to communicate with you CJ, so I will ask these questions of anyone who buys into your agenda ! ..Why did you start changing your replies to "WE" did this or "WE" did that ?..You formerly always used the "I" word, in all your ego driven assertions !

You also conveniently change the time frame, to suit your agenda..Can't you figure out, that when I referred to your last trip to Phx., I mentioned "I" was around 70 at the time !..What does that have to do, with when you were on the road with Omaha John, or Weldon ! (80 minus 70 still leaves 10, doesn't it ?)

Do you never talk to 'anyone' when you go into a pool room ?..You say you, (or 'we') went into Kolby's about 10 yrs. ago, and NO ONE told you I was the best action in town at the time ?..That would be an obvious falsehood !.. That means you are calling all the people who I 'know' told you, plus me, "liar's"..All this to make you appear faultless, and invincible !

Why do you feel it necessary, (in almost every post) to list a dozen or so, of the most prominent player's, that you played, or would have played ?..Do you even know the meaning of the word 'redundant' ?..How about 'egotistical' ?
Even your most avid fan's must cringe, when they see the pictures (that nobody took) and the endless boring claims you make, over and over and over, in every thread ! Wouldn't it be simpler to say, "I got down, and played with the best" ?..You use up a whole page, before you ever really say anything of ANY substance !

Sorry for dragging this out, but it feels good to get it off my chest !..I know all I will get from you, is another "shortstop" crack, and thats OK !..As long as I can happily join the growing list, of people who you call your "hater's" !..Nobody 'hates' you CJ...They just hate that you are boring them to death, with your moralities, and your insipid doubletalk !

You have 'bored. me for the last time CJ... Adios, and carry on !

Dick... AKA, the best 'shortstop' you ever dodged ! :p

He's in the HOF.

CJ is a Legend in his own mind, and AZ is somewhat of a captive audience.

Sure starting to sound like a certain amount of jealousy happening here.

Childish for the most part. Obviously living in the past. Give the guy his due CJ and a pat on the back instead of trying to run down his achievements.

It's not making you look any better than you believe that you are. Its making you come off as a jealous old has been yourself.

"We" applies to Strong Arm John, and I, of course you didn't know this, just like the rest of your BS. Danny D. was the best player in Phoenix and that's who we were there playing.....of course you didn't know that either.

No one has every mentioned your name to me in all my years on the road.

Yes, I'm calling all the people you know (and you) that supposedly said that to me "liars".....because they are. I will certainly say it to their face as well.....without a doubt!

No one has every mentioned your name to me in all my years on the road.....not even one, and that's a fact!

Sorry CJ..Wrong time frame AGAIN !..Danny Dileberto was only in Phoenix for a few years, around '87 to '90 or so !..He left Phx. about 3 yrs. BEFORE I retired, after my 20 yr. hiatus..(of course you didn't know that either.:embarrassed2:)

Please tell me, what could that possibly have to do..with you coming to town around 2005 ?..Let me check my math again ! Yep, sure enough, you're only off 15 years this time !:o ....Give it up CJ..You just keep making yourself look worse every time you post !

I think I see why you may never have heard of me ?..(1) You can't read, worth a s**t....(2) You never speak to anyone....(3) It is quite possible you are deaf....(4) Also, your math is very weak !

I wasn't even playing pool in 2005, that's how I know you are a liar for sure.

Go haunt a house, and quit trying to make yourself look like you are alive.
