Pool Wars by Jay Helfert

I want to thank everyone who has already ordered Pool Wars for their patience. I am expecting delivery of the Limited Edition first run shortly after the 20th. It will probably take me several days to mail out all the copies. There are well over 300 orders at present. Once again the first 500 will be signed and numbered.

You will still be able to get a signed copy after that. It just won't be numbered, like 131/500. If you have already ordered, expect your book some time around the end of the month. All advance orders will be going out First Class mail.

There may be a few shocking stories in here Marissa. It's kinda 'PG' and borders on 'R' sometimes for language. I wouldn't let a child (under 14) read it.

Im gonna read it to my 2 year old daughter for her bedtime story. I'll just read it in a calming tone and paraphrase the language.

I feel sorry for your daughter, having you for a father. ;)

How my daughter turned out okay, I have no idea. I once had her for the weekend and took her to a poolroom. She was about eight years old. I got into a game with a guy named Ted, who did cue repairs (that much I remember). Ted played pretty good Eight Ball and we played for $10 a game. It went on until the wee hours of the morning with little Heather curled up in a chair asleep under my jacket. I finally busted Ted for about $100 after many hours of play. It was maybe 4 or 5 AM. I carried my little Heather out to the car, and bought her breakfast at Denny's. Why she still loves me I don't know, but we are super tight to this day.

Just got an update from Bookmasters, who is printing Pool Wars. The text has been completed and they are running the covers now. That takes one day and the binding takes a day. The limited edition of 500 should be shipped by Friday. That will take 4-5 days to get here from Ohio. Then I can begin sending out books.

Thanks for your patience. My goal is to get everyone who has made an advance order their book by the end of the month. It should be close. No over and under bets please.

I know many of you ordered way back during the last week in February, so it will be 4-5 weeks for delivery of your book. I apologize to you for that and will try to make it up to you some way. At that time, I thought I would have books in hand between March 15th and 20th. It has taken nearly an extra week for this printing process to take place. It was due to two minor corrections we made to the proofs. That threw us back several days.

Thanks again. I hope you enjoy it.

Don't sweat it Jay!

I"m just happy to be receiveing it and I know you must feel like an expectant father waiting for the birth. Congratulations.

I know I'll like it. I've read enough of your writing to know I'll like the style and the content can't miss us pool players.

Move over McGoorty!

Jay take the time you need-we'll wait. It kind of reminds me of waiting for my custom cue to get done. It was mostly ready mid winter-but late spring early summer was better for spraying several coats of clearcoat. I can wait.

Thanks for all your effort on this project Jay.

PS: what better bonding with your child than to take her to work with you?

Can you post a top 50 list of who will be getting the books first?

Looking forward to receiving mine.

Thanks again

Kevin

Not going to do that Kevin, but I will say that the first 50 orders came in via Paypal on Feb. 20-22. If you paid by Paypal then, you are on top of the list.

I'm looking forward to the book, Jay. A man who can both play pool and write - never thought I would see the day.
