Rest in peace, Grady.

Another Star will shine bright in the sky tonight.
Death is but another adventure for us. I bet anything that Grady is already laughing and playing his heart out.

Have fun Grady Mathews.
Life's Work Well Done.

I feel very fortunate that when i'm older i'll be able to be one of the "old" guys who talks about having met Grady and hit some balls with him. He has not left a footprint, but instead a crater of influence in the pool world with his memory. Although I mourn his passing, I know the struggles he was facing and have dealt with it first hand. His pain is stopped, but he is far from gone. I can think of few in this industry who are immortalized more than Grady shall be. His teachings, stories and contributions ensure his continued influence on future generations of players. I envy his legacy.

Story teller

Grady was a great story teller i loved how he would be sitin infront of about twenty people tellin a story. And evryone of them would be on the edge of there seat he would have there attention from the start of the story tell the end. Rest in peace Grady & thank you so much for making one pocket what it is today. I love one pocket as much as you sir almost .......... God Speed

Good by my old friend

I didn't know the professor well, but I knew a Grady before that. We traveled, laughed and chopped up scores together. We slept in crummy motels and pooled our last money together many times to escape some dumpy pool room in some cheesy little town. But, we would get the money

Then you trancended your position as a hustler to one of a respectful "professor"" of the sport. Losing you brought back so many memories, I'm sure, for all of us. Man, you cut a serious path through the billiard world. Will you be missed by many? Get outta here.
You always managed to keep it nice. Your pal. Alfie

God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
As the days come and go and the world moves on,
I know you're still here, you'll never be gone.
On the night the Angel came and
took your hand,
We cried as you left for an unknown land.
But Heaven rejoiced as you came into
sight,
For your soul was a diamond, shining so bright!

Rest in peace, Grady.

RIP Mr. Mathews!

Lost a legend in our game today. As much as I enjoyed watching him play, I must admit I enjoyed his commentary that much more. The knowledge he shared with all of us was purely for the love of the game!

Grady you will be forever missed.

God rest your soul and bless your family.

I never met you or really even got a chance to see you play. That said, RIP Professor and Godspeed. You will always be a legend of the game!

Respectfully,
Koop

Rest in Peace. Grady. Prayers thoughts and condolences out to your family and the many many many many number of people who knew loved and respected you

RIP Grady.

Thanks for your influences in the form of instructional videos, thought provoking commentary and the written word.

Thanks for being a big part of the fabric of the pool world we know.

My condolences to Grady's family.
