Searing Box Cue: My Daily Player

icon2 (Jeff),

You are right, this cue will be with me for the duration. BTW, your cues are stellar! That Ginacue is simply unbelievable, a show stopper. If you would like to trade the Ginacue for something special (other than this Searing), pm me and we can see where it leads.

Thanks for the comments!

Will
thank YOU for the nice comments!
was jus' testin' your "will" . . . so to speak . . . no pun intended. :)
i wouldn't sell that one either!

was born in cleveland and early reared in columbus myself!
crimson tide fan now though!

your a lucky guy, that's a great playing cue!

great

Will,

that S is superB ..... fancy but not overdone, tasefull and elegant ... well i could not imagine how it plays because had never a chance to testdrive one of the lengendary S .... may one day in the future.

Yikes

Will

Wow that's a knockout. I really like the bracelet trim rings. The interior inlays in the butt boxes look a little familiar in outline shape, sort of what I always think of as "feather" inlays on your Kelly Box cue. Searing's work looks excellent and the fact that use this as your player speaks volumes considering the choices at your disposal.

Makes me wonder just how many cue makers there are out there currently laboring over a box design for you.

Thanks for sharing

Kevin

I watched it dry in the work shop and just for a second I thought.....'Would Dennis miss it? I mean, he could make another'.

....and then I thought.....'Would Will mind? I mean, he has enough cues'.

:)

Hi Will,

what a perfect cue for your Box Cue Collection.
Looks like a real beauty, and with the hit of a Searing Nick was a big favorite, i think ! :D
What is Dennis playing with ? Tad ?

Regards,
Erich

lost my Words

Hi Will, I sitting here in Pattaya Thailand and lost my Words.I seeing this Cue in TAR ,the BEST Box Cue ever:bow-down::bow-down::bow-down::yeah::yeah:
Hope to see this Cue in your Home when I come over.:D:D
Many Thanks for sharing this Pics my Friend.
Many Greetz from Thailand:eek::thumbup:
Ralf:wink:

Beautiful Searing! After looking at the pics, I'm wondering if you made Dennis shoot with a Nick Varner cue. The local pool hall uses one of Nick's cue models for their house cues. They look identical to the one he's using.

I had heard about this cue and have seen in person one of the "reject" joint caps, but now.......

Simply beautiful. And I love to hear that you play with it. Bet Dennis also loves that.

Thanks for sharing, Will.

Scott

That's just so outstanding, Will. The pic of the butt - the subtle veneer gradient makes it look almost like it's got depth, like it's inset. I know Dennis is over the moon that you're playing with it on a regular basis. He makes no bones that it makes him sick to think of his cues sitting in a closet.
I hope one day to get to see this cue & some of your others.

Will,

I feel like I should repeat what others have already said about the cue and it's beautiness but instead I'd like to shed light on something else, what hopefully others have noticed as well: the cue looks great on your pictures but it looks like any other brilliant and super sweet cue that we see here time by time again. BUT when I see the cue in Nick's hands it just amazes me, on that very picture it all 'comes through', as if I am there standing a few feet away from the cue. And on that very picture it definitely appears to be The Most Beuatiful Cue in the world, the 'cueist' cue.
This is like an illustration of a story-book for cue enthuiast children :)

Okay, I have arrived to a point where I lack all words but I thought I'll give it a try.

Yours,
David

Hi all,

I am posting below (hopefully) several pictures of my Searing box cue. It has been my daily player for the past year and a half, and I wouldn`t trade the hit for the Brooklyn Bridge (So don`t try).

I had great fun working with Dennis during the cue`s design and construction, and needless to say the cue exceeds my highest expectations. I could sell it to someone else every time I go to Shooter`s in Olathe.

I have also added a few extra pictures. Last Fall, we had a gala at our home as part of the ICCS show, and I caught a picture of Nick Varner shooting with my Searing box cue. He was playing Dennis Searing, and I won`t tell you what cue I made Dennis play with. Although Dennis can play at a level with many top pro players, Nick beat him. I blamed it on the cue!

Look in the rest of the pictures and try to pick out some of the onlookers.

Take care,

Will Prout

Wow! That cue is like the holy grail!!! You must be VERY proud!

Awesome cue! A real looker.

Hi thepavlos!

Good to hear from you! I really like your avatar. Children are the very best part of life!;)

The wrap was meant to be the closest thing to the wraps on the old Brunswick Willie Hoppe cues. It came out better than I could have imagined.

I trust you are taking special care of the cue and case that you had at my house! See you in Santa Fe this Fall?

Take care,

Will
That cue is my primary player and the case of course is put away, I'll send you a pic of what John did for me at VF!!!
I'll be seeing you in Santa Fe and the whole family will be with me!

Will,

Thanks for posting pics of your cue, I can now tell everyone on the forum that I have had the pleasure to play with that cue a few times and now they are all jealous. Also, the cue that Dennis is using looks like my old Schon STL-1.

I have owned three Searing cues and played with five total and I would definitely say yours was the best player of the bunch.

Thanks Again
