Selling---Tascarella cue--

If this turn out to be scam...what the best way to handle this? I mean how do you get back at the person that's trying to scam you. File a consumer fraud police report? I would think that if you sent payment to the person that you would have their address details and name for sure.

I'm in the process of trying to file a consumer fraud police report in the state of IL. I have all the email trail, paypal records, receipt and tracking of packages that was sent. I was also thinking small claims court but it's only about 2K plus. I also have all the old details (trying to get the new details) to help with this. Also would a group effort help when filing the police report eg. Kevin and Cedric both files one against the scam.

Escrow?

Maybe there needs to be a rule that if your Itrader is not current or at least a 4 with 100% feedback, escrow is mandatory. It just seems to me that this is the smart way of going about things with new posters. This would cut down on 99.99% of the scamming and protects both buyer and seller.

It is just too bad that just a few jackwagons screws it up for everyone. I for one, try to be as honest and upfront with whatever I offer for sale and often times describe it as worse than it actualy is just so the potential buyer will be happy with the item. I also strive to work out any differences with the buyer/seller if things are not right. I do this because it is the right thing to do and my status is worth more to me than $$. I am happy to see this situation take care of itself and the only one that went home unhappy was the potential scammer. It could have been far worse.

What also seems funny is the guy gave this Jsmittycues I TRADER for sellng something but there is no prior post where he was selling anything !!! I'd bet this was a total scam..Do just as the other guy said contact the member that gave the guy gave the I trader to Jsmittycues...Get his info and turn him in as well....Just glad it worked out and no one didnt lost money Check the I TRADER ; Oh yea must have been really fast shipping as stated in the Itrader ,,,the guy bought the item the same day the Jsmiyycues joined and it shipped and was recieved all within the same day !!!! <<ED

I have several transactions with Tommy (Hangemhigh) and Walker that were never listed but most were!I could tell by the wrap that someone other than Pete changed the wrap and nobody that I know of does the Linen Wrap like him! Kevin is SMART and came out on top, I'm glad this worked out for everyone and now we are enlightened to our playground isn't safe either,but we have MARCUS to help with these kind of people! Ron

You guys have not figured it out? It's one guy not two. Jsmittycues used a second email address and produced a second user name and then using the second user name he gave himself the positive itrader feedback :eek:

WHAAAAAAAT ?

A guy joined the forum and tried to sell his refinished Tascarella. He and I PMed, he told me I could have the cue, sent me his PayPal eMail address and I PayPayed him the $1850.

Danktrees posted in the thread claiming the cue was a deal and the seller said he was first. A few people jumped in the thread rendering their opinions as to why Danktrees deserved this cue which was a great deal.

I wondered why if Danktress was first and deserved the cue why did the seller tell me I was first (when I so generously told him to sell it to Danktress because I saw Danktrees post after the seller and I had agreed on a deal) and give me his PayPal address and sell me the cue, but seeing people were jumping in and stating what they figured was right and Danktrees suggested that he still (even though the seller had told me I was first and I had paid for the cue) wanted the cue and I didn't want it to turn into a big deal with everyone chiming in with an opinion on what was fair so I (again so generously and graciously) asked the seller to refund my money through Paypal so he could sell the cue to Danktrees.

The seller did refund my money.

Now Danktrees doesn't want this fine Tascarella cue that was such a great deal yesterday.

so I did what was "fair"....I asked the seller to refund my dough......and he did....

so why are those guys that wanted to make sure Danktrees got this great deal not hopping on it?

what changed was that people found out he was using someone else's pics and cropped off the watermark. on top of that he has stopped communicating with me, although he gave u a refund he never said anything to you afterwards, and he stopped posting to give us an explanation. so at this point no one can even say for sure that he has the cue which is also a reason why im no longer interested in it.

How bad can you want to buy a cue from a NEW member with one post and one that already has an iTrader??

And to BOOT, the cue is priced way to cheap!!!

Have you guys ever heard the saying "If is seems too good to be true, It usually is" ??

I saw his post minutes after he posted it up and passed immediately.

Oh for sure he doesn't have the cue. He refunded me because my payment was funded by a credit card and PayPal requires anyone that accepts credit card payments to submit to additional scrutiny (so PayPal can be assured they can find you when a charge back happens as would have happened in this case) and he didn't want to go through the scrutiny. He was hoping for a PayPal payment funded by a cash account. My notice from PayPal stated it was pending his approval, which was them holding the funds in suspense while they waited for him to do additional verification.

Oh well, back to the drawing board for him, I'm sure he's already registering his new handle and next time he won't make the iTrader mistake.

Yes, I was one of the guys that posted. I did it, not knowing all the facts,
and I did jump the gun. I apologize Kevin. From now on I'll shut my mouth.
Do I want to hop on that cue? HELLS YES! Can I? Hells no. Bottom line is
that I dont think this is a scam. If it was, why in the world would he return
a payment? I mean, thats what your trying to get in the first place, right?
It does look like he used someone elses pictures. Problem is that we dont
know for sure either way, and thats whats holding Cedric back. 2 grrrr is
whats holding me back.:o
either way, and he is not communicating any more.
