Selling---Tascarella cue--

Yes, the original seller has disappeared for now. He will reappear with another nice cue for sale under a new name.

Like Kevin says, he will learn from his mistakes on this one and not make them next time.

Buyer's beware!!!

The original seller is the same person that gave himself the i trader. That guy should be banned and his ip address should be stopped from logging in.
The seller refunded the money because he knew he was caught. He has now stopped responding to anyone including Cedric.
This was a scam plain and simple.
Hopefully he can't get back onto AZ except from a library or internet chat room.
In which case he will still be a new seller.

The idea that if you don't have at least 4, Itrades and not for just small items. It is a good idea that it goes to someone like Marcus or another escrow service. I only deal with people who have been around a long time with good "I trades" or they would have to ship to me first if they did not meet my requirements.
I always talk with the person i am dealing with on the phone and get a little back round about the cue and the seller. All good things to do to protect yourself.
Unfortunately we will see this again and again. We all need to look out for each other. Happy holidays to all.

That's the Point ..and what makes this Place Special .... the people take care for each other ... well at least in most cases

Yes, I was one of the guys that posted. I did it, not knowing all the facts,
and I did jump the gun. I apologize Kevin. From now on I'll shut my mouth.
Do I want to hop on that cue? HELLS YES! Can I? Hells no. Bottom line is
that I dont think this is a scam. If it was, why in the world would he return
a payment? I mean, thats what your trying to get in the first place, right?
It does look like he used someone elses pictures. Problem is that we dont
know for sure either way, and thats whats holding Cedric back. 2 grrrr is
whats holding me back.:o
either way, and he is not communicating any more.

Your apology is totally accepted. My wondering was a little tongue in cheek. AZ is a forum and it is about posting your opinion, lord knows, I have plenty of them and I feel free to express them at the drop of a hat.

The seller refunded my money because I paid him

FUNDED BY A CREDIT CARD

and PayPal held his funds in suspense until he underwent further scrutiny by them.

Why does PayPal do this ? To protect themselves (and me in the process) from scammers.

Why did the seller not go through the further process ? Because he was a scammer.

I saw the one post and the sham iTrader and I figured it was a scam, but I know I'm not at risk when I pay by a credit card through PayPal. I'm more confident of this fact than most, because I run money through PayPal as a buyer and a seller for a living so I'm pretty familiar with their processes. So on the small chance that is was a real deal and the understanding that I had zero risk in this transaction, I paid him.

It did amuse me that people defended their right to be scammed first and I was way willing to bow out and give others that right, but I'm glad it didn't come to that.

As far as the posts about this guy being banned (by IP address), that really doesn't work, I'm behind a router and it emulates thousands of IP addresses as a by-product, and anybody that needs to and has enough sense to run an internet scam can log on through proxy servers. This guy probably is A. Painter, and he is probably back already.

Thanks

Kevin

That, that community thing and the protections it affords is one of the great things about AZ.

Another is the ability to have met so many great people of like interests.

Another is the great info. Want to know what damn glue George used between the years 1966 and 1968? Post the question on AZ and there will be someone here that knows.

Thanks

Kevin

Ain't that the truth...a great bunch of folks, overall. That does not mean someone can't still be taken advantage of...exercise due diligence in all transactions. A new poster, a nice cue, a great price...use escrow with someone like Marcus.

Kevin, did you get a name with the "seller"? Perhaps making that known would help with an ID if a similar situation were to arise again.

Now THAT is F---ing original...LOL.

As for A. Painter, Aaron is a real guy. I did a lot of stuff with him over the years with no issues. I don't WTF happened with AZB and him.

Oh, I see now. He cant withdraw the funds immediately.
Thanks for the lesson. I learned a few things with this
thread too. :embarrassed2:

Some people are good guys until an opportunity presents itself to screw someone. That when you find out who the real good guys are.

Like the guy from here (I forget who it was) who shipped me a 2000$+ cue when I didn't order it. I guess he mixed up a package. Don't know how he got my address. Don't think I did business with him. I have a multi thousand dollar cue in my hands. Free of charge. No signature required. How often does that happen. Never. I contacted the guy and said I got a cue from you I wasn't supposed to get. He was very very greatful and I returned to sender

It's them type of situations that IMO shows true character.

Good of you to post about what a great guy you are.

Hang on, the Starbucks gal give me change for a $20 yesterday when I gave her a 10 spot and I tightened her up.

Thanks

They don't always hold the funds. His was a brand new account (set up for this scam probably) and PayPal requires higher verification from an account holder before they allow him to accept credit card payments,

Thanks

Well I agree with the poster I think Joe about meeting great ppl on azb. There are alot of great ppl. But I often turn away business from ppl I don't know or ppl I don't feel conduct themselves properly. It's a scarey place sometimes

Kev. Glad u didn't get screwed. U always have bizz with me pal.

I didn't know that. I don't think I know who A. Painter is/was, I assumed he (from what I've read, but you know how that is here in AZ land) that he was a flat-out scam, like, was it? loniwheels ?

I don't know. I don't really worry about the scams much as a buyer, if someone I don't know is selling something I want (like in this case) my first PM to them is "will you accept PayPal?" and if there answer is no, I'm

on to the next.

Thanks

Kevin

Yeah I don't know how I could've got screwed here.

A fool and his money are soon parted ;)

Why haven't the rest of you red bombed this guy yet ?

Also the username that gave this idiot positive I-trader needs
red bombed as well.

Moe, if you catch this thread, perhaps you could shed some light
on who/where this started.

We do look after each other here.
