She sharks - reality series

Won't happen. It specifically violates network rules and will never be cleared by legal. Whatever "wagering" you see on ANY TV Network, other than where its legally sanctioned (Vegsas-ESPN) , is staged.

I will be posting some information and a link to the project page in a few days. Just confirmed Jeanette Lee AND LoreeJon Hasson as final cast members.

Gambling is the best thing about our game. It's the reason our game even has the name "pool". It was the theme of the two movies that created the two booms in pool. People who are drawn to play pool, do so to win money more than any other reason. People keep trying to shove the gambling aspect out of pool but it's the biggest draw we have and it's only digging our own hole. Gambling isn't a bad thing. Embrace it.

I have no problem with gambling. The "Big Dance" is only as popular as it is because of office pools. The NFL exploded right along with with the growth of fantasy football. College football would not be what it is without parlays and Vegas odds. All this is gambling in some form or another and all have allowed popular sports to become even more so because of the gambling aspect.

That being said, do you think a mom, who might let her kid play fantasy football, or fill out brackets, would let her kid gamble on a pool match? Actually, do you think she would even let her kid go into a pool hall? The answer is NO for the vast majority out there. Now ask yourself why that is? Largely because of a "seedy" reputation that is based on the perception that degenerates and grifters frequent pool rooms looking for "scores". Hustling may have provided the stories that entertain lots of non-billiards folks, but it also prevents the game from reaching a larger mass audience.

I would prefer to see billiards grow to include more and more people. It's a dichotomy to which there is no easy solution. As long as billiards has the common reputation that it does, it will forever exist on the fringes of other more popular sports. Even if the booms it experiences are based on hustling (The Hustler/Color of Money) the booms are still much smaller in general than those of other industries. Even Bowling attracts more participants, which isn't nearly as beautiful a game as billiards, however has a much more "wholesome" reputation. Parents have no problem dropping their kids off at the bowling alley for a few hours. The same can not be said for dropping them off at pool rooms.

I would think that the "wagering" angle would be fairly simple to get around. They offer a prize or points to the winner of the match and after a set number of games or challenges the bottom person on the scoreboad is dropped. There is no need to "gamble". If a challenger wins they get $1000 (or whatever)....if the she shark wins they get X number of points to add to their total.

The wagering thing is pretty simple to overcome if they really wanted to do it.

When you say staged I have to disagree. Staged would mean a fake match where the money doesn't transfer hands and it's all just a show. This is a completely false message you are trying to convey. I'll clarify your statement.

It is illegal for people to wager their personal funds. Production can put the money up for you though and you are 100% allowed to win it.

I fully disagree. What prevents the game from reaching a larger mass audience is the fact that it's boring as piss. I like watching pool, you like watching pool, WE like watching pool because we already play it but most humans think it's just boring as piss. Poker is also boring as piss but throw gambling for large money in the mix and people start to pay attention. Almost everyone has been to a casino and knows the feeling and high of winning and the low of losing. They can relate. But gambling in pool and the personalities and barking that goes with it, is about the most entertaining part of our game.

OK. Here is the project page for SHE SHARKS. Shooting begins mid-March in Florida.

Understand that this show is character driven. There will be a LOT of pool, but also a LOT of how the ladies handle things - guys, winning, losing, drinking, shopping, money, traveling, all sprinkled with some personal drama in and out of the halls. We intend to attract people to the ladies first, and the sport of pool second - how it can be a fun night out with friend, or fiercely competitive. How pool. like other sports, can help with your personal growth as a person, possibly make you stronger and independent as well as challenging your inner demons. We have assembled a GREAT FRICK'N cast of some of the best female pool players and they are all very attractive and each one of them bring a special dynamic to the show - not two of these ladies are alike in any way. This will be my last post as whatever we do from this point on is silent running. We really hope to show the best of this sport through these ladies.

tap, tap, tap. And poker came up with the best marketing move of all time. They started to show everyone's "hole cards".... without that, I would NEVER watch poker on TV, EVER.

Will you be steering towards a big tournament like the us open for a season finale....something giant on the horizon to work towards? Or will it just be 8 weeks and thats it?

This reminds me of the South Park episode where James Cameron was searching the ocean floor to find the "lowered bar'. Next will be following professional mud wrestlers I guess.
This show isn't about playing pool at all...just hustling

Wishing you all the best.

If The Hustle Bus passes through New Orleans make a stop at Buffalo Billiards and I will get a pass from my wife to visit with the She Sharks.

Can't wait to see the first video of The Hustle Bus pulling up to the pool room.

This show won't do anything more to promote pool, than the repo shows do for delinquent car owners. Funny how "reality shows" are the least realistic shows on TV now.

Seven Women pro pool players, ten weeks on a bus, Jeanette busts them all. :D:D. Good luck with this show. Johnnyt
