Unfreakingbelievable. Can't pool have a single event that doesn't have some crap happen? What is wrong with people.

I hope Chip gets his stuff back. Would love to hear later it was a simple misunderstanding and all is good.
 
Happened to Danny Smith too

Bout three years ago there was a lot of action there and Danny Smith got his cue stolen.

I was there and it was late at night with just a few gamblers, locals, and staff in the place. I believe he had just got done playing Mike Banks.

Sounds like there could be a cue thief hanging out around there.

its a good joint too. your probably right someone there is a thief and is just working it. Might not even be a pool player-most likely not, just someone that knows enough to be dangerous-so to speak. I hope they bust the guy or like it was said a misunderstanding and it works out.
 
This is just sad. Was fortunate enough to meet and briefly talk to Chip out in Tunica recently and watch him play several matches. I hope he gets his cue back and it was a mistake. If not, I hope whomever took it gets what is coming to them.

Best poolroom in Midwest. I don't hold it against the place at all. They run a tight ship and DT don't put up with any bull shit.
 
At a couple of the larger tourneys that I have been at, something like this always happens. This usually always includes Ladies purses as well.

I imagine that players could be responsible but I have always thought that any large event with free admission will bring out the opportunists.

These people have balls the size of 5 pin bowling balls and work quick. In a situation with large crowds and people or team mates concentrating on a game, it doesn't take much to snatch and run. The last one was at the Westerns in Edmonton. I saw more than one person that just didn't seem to fit in with the pool crowd. They don't seem to be interested in pool, their eyes dart back and forth scanning the area. You know, that type of action.

I seriously hate lazy scum holes that steal from others that had to get their property the honest way.

If this was the Wild West, you could just take em out and find a tall tree and be done with it.

Sometimes the old days were good days.

And I hope that Chip gets his cues back. Its a long shot tho.

Everyone likes to laugh at me for it but never lost a cue
 
I don't think it's right to steal anything (at one time I did). But to me stealing a pro pool players cue is like stealing a mechanic, plumber, or any skilled tradesman's tools. It's how they make their living. I hope he gets his cues back undamaged and the thief gets knocked around a little. By a little mean f-up one of his hands so he will think twice before doing it again. Johnnyt

Stealing a mans tools is low. I also used to take my first hi- dollar cue to the bathroom. McDermott d-15 with two extra notched diamonds $65 plus the $275 initial cost was big money for me back then! LOL. Somebody needs to figure out some type of LOJACK for cues. Watched Chip on the stream. Hell my dog has a chip imbedded, but it will only show up at a vets office or the dog pound, and even all of them don't scan every dog. Hi dollar hunting dogs cost as much as a Hercek!!

Quick suggestion. You might want to contact some of the local pawn shops around the area.

Not saying it couldn't be a player that stole it, but probably just someone on drugs that needed money.

Found a few stolen cues immediately after theft at local pawn shops.

Me too Chris, unless there's a good friend there I can trust with them for a few minutes. I'd rather be laughed at than take a chance on loosing my cues/case or both.

Good luck to Chip getting his cues back, I know I'd feel real shitty right now if it had happened to me.
 
It's crappy that people do this kind of thing. It might be an idea to pop one of these in your cue case - http://www.thetileapp.com/ . it may improve the chances of locating your cues (providing they get stolen with the case!), and catching the thief.

That's a great idea. Maybe even sew it inside the liner of your case. Not a bad investment for $19!

Do the same exact thing!! Hell I learned that from Delbert Wong (owner of Family Billiards in SF) and he OWNED the joint!! When he went for a piss his cue was right next to him.
