Spat between Accu-Stats and InsidePoolMag at DCC

Did Pat pull a Rambo knife and then a gun with a silencer. This had not better be true, or Pat will surely go to jail.

If Pat pulled a Knife or Gun then the Police need to be notified, and a formal investigation needs to be performed.

I am going to contact Caesars Horseshoe Casino on this issue.

I have been purchasing the Accu-stats streams for many years and they have been great. The main problem is lack of matches on the TV table. The quality and the competition is top notch, but waiting around looking at an empty table or watching a replay I just payed for and watched the night before is not good.

This year has been the best fan experience I have had for the DCC. I have had 3 streams up at the same time most of the week. I have payed for 5 days of accu-stats.

It is obvious that there is a need for more streaming/video's of the best pool tournament in the world. If accustats wants full property of the main tournament games, then they need to put up additional cameras to cover the rest of the matches. When there are over 1000 matches during the 9 days and we pay $90 to see 30 of them, that is not good coverage.

Thank you Inside pool for your coverage, it has been wonderful and has made this year the best. We need more exposure to pool, and having a monopoly on the media coverage is not going to help.

If you make a accusation on the Internet and it is not true, that is not good.
They need to b be checked out.

All I know is that Alvin at Inside Pool has been furious with Pat Fleming the last two days.

I have been watching Inside Pools free streaming and Alvin has been hot.

What was/is the beef?

btw: I think the Rambo knife and silenced pistol post was a joke/least hope so.

I heard from a very reliable source that there was no gun, Pat threw a set of Bonus Balls at the InsidePool crew. They are on their way to Alvin's head, but have been delayed and should arrive in the next few months. Then he will really have something to b*tch on the stream about.

Both my boss and I tried this and it sounds nothing at all like "ornages". It sounds a little like "tube socks." You should be more careful in the stuff you post.

Damn, it does sound like "Tube Socks" don't it ? Who knew ?

If Accustats wants full property of the tournament coverage, they need to add to the prize fund, maybe even pay the players who were streamed...

It is possible they already do which is why they have an agreement.

Oh? How much are they paying the players? Flat fee or a percentage of the take?

hasn't Accustats been paying players for a long time based on DVD and YouTube purchases etc? I have heard players say in the past that pat would hand them checks at tournaments when he ran in to them. Not saying they are huge stipends but

Accustats viewership was down this year because of the quality of the product as others, and I, have observed after watching replays, parts of replays, and empty tables for hours. No schedule, no option, so watch the free streams. If you present a quality product, like in the past, the viewers will pay to watch it. More pool exposure is better for the sport and anyone in the industry should try to better the sport if possible.

Some of you might not realize that AccuStats pioneered live streaming of pool and absolutely pioneered and refined pool recording. Without the AccuStats library we wouldn't have nearly as much great pool preserved for the past quarter century as we do. The entire 90s would have been nothing but a few cutup ESPN matches.

I was at Pat's Hall of Fame induction. I cried when I was allowed to present him with a cue I had laser engraved with his profile on it. This is a man who was a world class player in his own right who decided to try and bring pool into the mainstream by adding baseball-like stats to it. He gave up his own career as a player to support the players. Initially the recording of the matches was simply for him to be able to go back and score them accurately later. From this he began the journey to having the ability to put on television quality broadcasts.

If you have never seen Pat's setup it is quite elaborate. It's not cheap to move all that gear anywhere.

Somewhere I saw that someone complained that $90 for 30 matches was too much. Is that a serious statement?

Forgetting everything else, if you have access to 30 scheduled live matches all of which are two hours or more in length with professional commentary and a producer managing the broadcast with multiple cameras and a jib-boom operator working one that gives you every angle then I have to ask how in the world this isn't considered the best deal in sports?

I mean you can look around the web and see what PPV prices run for world class events.

Boxing and UFC appear to be about $50 for about a two hour show but as we have all seen with boxing the show could be over in the first round.

No matter what in this unfortunate dispute we should all remember that Pat Fleming deserves a TON of respect and should be granted it. When he does a PPV then it's with the idea of giving up a very high-quality experience for the money. And honestly, $1.50 per match or less is a joke and not worth complaining about. I don't know if the 30 match figure is right but even if it was $5 or $10 a match it would still be like stealing to get those high class matches.

The InsidePool and PoolAction streams are great but they do steal viewers from the PPV pure and simple. All the streamers know that free streams get thousands and ppv streams get hundreds of viewers. Add to that the exotic nature of the 10ft table and of course showing marquee players which is what the Bigfoot Challenge is all about is going to take viewers away from AccuStats.

So give Pat some respect here and the benefit of the doubt please. He is one of the nicest and level-headed men in pool. Whatever prompted him to take action was not something he did lightly I am sure. And I am equally sure that he and JR and Alvin will work it out between them.

Jay Helfert started the taping of pool tournaments and passed it on to Pat. Johnnyt
