It's not the table, it's the childish act that SVB had to endure for 3 solid days ( well except when earl was running out like water, of course there wasn't an act then  )

Shane got blind-sided and sharked BIG TIME! A good ref would have put a stop to all that nonsense that went on the first day. It sickened me to see what Earl got away with.

It was a figure of speech when I said the table won, although I also made that comment while doing commentary. It just seemed appropriate seeing how both players were struggling with the conditions. Oscar won that match using his head and playing better safeties. There were few (maybe two or three) run-outs in over 160 games of pool on that super tight box. Alex and Shane are at another level (the highest in pool today), but they will both miss balls and play more safes. That you can count on. They will also run some racks, but it will be a feat and require precision play from start to finish. Bottom line -This will be a real test!

wow, I never noticed this, but both of these matches had the exact ending score:smile: there was almost a 4-1 ratio on break and runs compared against shane/mika table vs john/oscar table. Almost twice as many balls dropped on the break.

links to both of these matches for complete stats...

just click on the poster to go to that match. Once you're there, look at the very bottom left, you will see tabs that say Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 and Total.. click those to go to those pages.

Schmidt is really good, so is Shannon. I always like it when they get a good player in the booth who is also articulate and has some character, plus maybe someone who can offer some insight that you haven't necessarily heard before. Grady and Billy are great, of course, as is Jay, but it's also nice to get some fresh perspective once in a while.

And if anyone gets hungry I here Schmidt makes a great sandwich.

I love those stats. Two things blow me away.

1. Only 11 break runs in the Oscar/Morra match.

2. Shane only breaking dry 6 times out of 100.

Definitely have to get stats on the upcoming match. Maybe try and get a couple people to do like a day of stats for a free PPV and some merch. Come up with a simple template or something and get the info up during the stream. It adds a great deal to the match.

I'll hit you this week about that thing we talked about for the ppv.

I guess you missed Shane beating Alex in two races to 20 at the Cue Club in Vegas. At the end of both races, I think the score was 40 to 20 in favor of Shane:grin:[/QUI

I guess you missed Alex coming back from being down 22 games. its not race to 40, its 100. GRIN

Desparate to see this live ...

OK Justin, I'd really like to have a seat at the studio for this event. I understand you're working on this but what do I need to do? You want me to commentate? You need help with the cameras? You need someone to clean the toilets? Just let me know.

Oh hell, just tell me know who I need to sleep with. :p

You have one reserved then. You may not want it when you hear the price though.

We are going to sell twelve seats. Price is $50 per seat per day. Three day package is $150. The good news is that includes free beer, soft drinks, dinner and snacks. We'll probably do New York style pizza one night, Memphis BBQ one night and whatever else I can dream up for the third night. You will also have access to the players of course for pictures or autographs and I'll throw in some TAR swag as well.

Seating will be a couple of sofa's on raised platforms and tall pub chairs with tables as well as some Diamond players chairs. It will be a different kind of atmosphere from our past events where it was to cram as many as possible into folding chairs.

I will be putting the three day packages up in our store later today. That way if someone wants to fly in and guarantee they have a spot all three days they can. If after a week or so there are open spots I will put up the seats by the day.

I think its going to be a great match with a really cool atmosphere.

That's not a bad price at all! It would be interesting to see how much these seats might get in an auction type thing?

Man I would love to be able to see this in person. When you announced the match I looked into plane tickets. I can fade the $150 for the seat, just can't fade the $500 for a plane ticket and 3 days of hotel prices. Would probably cost me $1000 for the 3 day weekend.

Guess I will have to reserve myself to the ppv experience. Should be a great match.

<---- Needs to move to Vegas now that there is a TAR Studio

Studio seating for TAR 21 just went up in the store. Right now we have twelve seats available. I will leave the three day packages up for a week or so in order that anyone who wants to travel can be sure they get a seat for all three days. After that I will break up any remaining seats on a day by day basis.

Seating includes free soft drinks, beer, snacks and dinner. There are only twelve available and it will be a unique chance to see two of the best in the world go head to head in VIP type atmosphere.

Link to purchase tickets: http://www.theactionreport.net/product.sc?productId=131&categoryId=39

If you havent seen the pictures of the TAR Studio you can watch this video to get an idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3OFZVIimfc

The layout will be somewhat rearranged from how it is in that video. I am bringing in pub chairs, tables and putting the sofa's on risers to allow a better view. There will be flat screen TV's showing the outgoing stream as well so you can catch all the angles the people at home will get as well.

It will be a good time.

Depending on where you are coming from and what level hotel you want to stay it it can be reasonable to downright crazy. A dime is a pretty good guess though.

Just for anyone thinking about it here's a rough budget:

Flight: $400

Hotel Friday-Sunday: The deals here vary wildly. If you look around online or have casino player deals it can be cheap. If not figure $100 a night for a decent room. So we'll just say $300 for hotel.

Studio seat: $150 Which will include food and drink for the whole match.

Add in $50 a day for misc. stuff: $150

And.....we are right at that $1000 mark. So it aint cheap. But then again any event you go to is going to cost similar to that plus or minus a few dollars. But with this one you wont be in a folding chair four risers high wishing the dude next you would have showered in the last week. :D

Or go buy a new 50" flat screen, hook up the laptop, buy the PPV for $35 and be a few hundred ahead. Or save $965 and just buy the PPV. It will be entertaining as hell anyway you choose to see it.
