I just got back from the open and this was the first chance that I had to look at the forums. I want to thank all of you for all of the nice posts and for pulling for me in this event.

I was hoping for a good showing this year but after seeing my draw I figured my odds were slim at best. After getting by Alex I thought I might have a chance of getting there. I think I could have done more if my endurance was a little better but I can't complain. It was a hell of a tournament experience for me.

Congratulations to Shane! I really expected him to win this year but it doesn't matter how good you play, sometimes things just don't go your way in tournaments and I know he had to overcome a lot of abstacles to get through the field. He did a great job and he deserved it.

Thanks again. You guys are great!

Louis

Congratulations on a great Open performance. You played great, handled everything with poise and grace, and are a definite threat in any future tournament you enter. If I were on the selection committee for the Mosconi Cup, I think I would look really favorably at your inclusion (along with Shane). I think you two would add immeasurable class and dignity to the crew, which has not always been there with all our Mosconi Cup representatives. Believe me, you won a lot of fans this week.

Man, you played great this week. I really thought you were gonna make it to the end the way you were playing. You should be very proud of yourself.

BTW- That jump shot was sick!

AZB posters have now won two consecutive US Open 9-ball titles.

2006 John Schmidt
2007 SouthDakotaKid (Van Boening)
2008 Louis Ulrich???????

Hey, you never know. Great shooting, Louis. Practice hard, and maybe we'll keep this AZB dynasty going.

Louis congradulations you played great before running out of steam. Work on that stamina and you very well could be in the finals with Shane next year

Louis,

I was there during your match with Alex. You showed great poise, and were a pleasure to watch play.

Keep it up.

Louie looks like a different player this year. More poised and composed for starters. He has finally figured out how to harness all that natural talent he has had for years. I fully expect him to contend in any tournament he plays in now.

Good shooting Louie!

Fantastic

That's all I can say about it. You done us all proud Louis. Sorry I couldn't be there this year.
Purdman

Great showing

You had a great showing and I was pulling for you. I hope to see you at the viking ten ball event at Mr cues this friday.I might even get the opportunity to play you.

Louis, if you got by that Japanese fella, I was ready to empty my wallet and bet on you to take the title.

Your sister-in-law did a wonderful job of keeping us informed. Where do we send the beer we all owe her for this?

Louis,
You shot great the whole week. Thanks for the wonderful effort you put forth in all of your matches. Good luck to you in all you do.

I just watched your match with Alex. BCN has it archived and anyone who subscribed for the full week can view it. Great shooting - I would like to see accustats on it, but my guess is over .950. Danny D. and Jimmy were constantly complimenting your game too.

Chris

Impressive list of players....

Louis, I believe your time will come to capture a major title within the next year. You've had a pretty good one on finishes in 2007. I really thought that you were going to win your bracket, specially after you pounded Ernesto Dominguez and Tony Robles; and it seems it was a close one with Mikari.

You are definitely a force to reckon with. Keep up that excellent play; and I am certain we will see and hear more of you for the remainder and the upcoming year. Congratulations on your performance at the 2007 U.S. Open:

Louis Ulrich defeated Joey Arbuckle 11 - 5
Louis Ulrich defeated Jeremy Jones 11 - 5
Louis Ulrich defeated Alex Pagulayan 11 - 7
Louis Ulrich defeated Ernesto Dominguez 11 - 0
Louis Ulrich defeated Tony Robles 11 - 1
Louis Ulrich lost to Tomoki Mikari 11 - 9
Louis Ulrich defeated James Walden 11 - 5
Louis Ulrich defeated Dennis Orcollo
Louis Ulrich lost to Ronnie Alcano 11 - 3

Congrats Louis! It's awesome to have one of our owns get out there and beat some world champions. This year has been good to you. :p

Very impressive playing! I hope to hear much more from you in the future. I'll bet that Jay's comments are right on the money and that you'll be a force to be watched for.

Way to go world beater!. It was great fun pulling for you online!..so, you gonna drop a few words of wisdom on the masses here as to how you stayed so focused and seemingly relaxed during your matches with all those champions?
