Just wanted to say "Hello" to everybody, as I'm finally able to get downstairs behind the desk and sit for a few minutes. The problem was that the chair is backed up against the wall and then the desk was placed right in front of it. No way to pull that chair out and put a hard wooden one in, which would have been better for sitting. I'm still in the back brace and have all the flexibility of a telephone pole!
Now the most important thing.....Not everybody who goes thru a tough surgery is treated as well as I have been by my friends here. Hu Lowery has called me regularly with reports on your well wishes. JoeyA the same thing. Jay Helfert called me one morning before he left for the Phillipines and we had one of the best talks I can remember having. These three men are World Champions when it comes to being a true friend! We had many greats talks about life and laughed hard with each call. They are valued beyond compare!
I also have wrestled in my head about how to properly express all the thankfulness and gladness I have in my heart because of all your prayers, well wishes and very kind remarks over the past 2 months that I haven't been able to post here.....And really, I can't find adequate words that really express the depth of my appreciation for all of you. Hu, Joey and Jay were like personal secretarys relaying to me so many of the nice thoughts that my friends were posting. A milion "thank you"'s from a very humbled and sincere heart!
Pool news....So saddened to hear that Edwin Reyes was murdered. And for what? May God comfort his family and friends and may he rest in peace.
More pool news...I finally got the KF Cue that I've had my eye on for so long.
Brandie said she wanted to buy if for my 50th birthday and so I called Tony Crosby and let me tell you, he's a top shelf guy all the way! Luckily, he had one of the two cues that I liked the exact same, so he sent it out.
It's not as beautiful as my wife
but as far as cues go, it's exactly what I always wanted. I've always shot with CueTec's, Players and an old Brunswick. I won a nice cue from Billiards Digest years ago in that "Pick the top 10 best players ever" poll, but had to sell it to help pay the bills.
I can't shoot pool for at least another month or so, which I hope goes fast.
More pool news....I can't believe there is still no scheduled World 9 Ball or World 8 Ball or World 14.1 Championship scheduled for this year! Years from now, several of today's top players will have to enter the history books without World Championship titles that a few of them would have earned. Not fair to have all that talent, skill and dedication and be rewarded by the industy with so little. I hope things turn around quick.
I'm going to try and go back to look at all the posts I missed since April 3.
I may take a while, but I want to get caught up on the goings on of pooldom.
I have missed you all so much. I can't remember a day ever on AZB where I didn't laugh at som of the funny stuff said or the chananigans pulled!
It's awesome to be back with my pool family and dear friends!
Thanks again so much!
Your friend,
Terry
