If my memory serves me Stevie Moore has won the ultra tough, super hard, talent packed Smokey Mountain Shootout about 3 or 4 times. And he leads the list for most wins, and for those that don't know it's always been held on bar boxes.

Everyone has posted so many good responses, but I couldn't name just five.
I do know that everyone should have Walden on their lists.
Corey Deuel and Larry Nevel could beat ANYONE on a given day.
McCready is not exactly in his prime, but was once the guy to beat (and could probably still kick some ass).
Matlock, well, yeah you know.
Even Glenn Atwell could be on that list.
I did see a couple guys post some interesting ones. Dan Louie is a great player. (I saw him Friday night. Nicest guy)
Shane is now the King of the Hill, obviously.

I agree that the format makes a difference. Everyone knows the bar table as a scufflers and road warrior's game. Although Corey, Archer, Nevel, Gabe, and others are great on the short track, and can beat anybody on a given day, these are not the kinds of players that I grew up watching in all night slug-fests to see who could dominate the bar table (although Archer in his early days did fit that bill). People like Pickle, Scotty T., Keith M., Larry Price, Matlock; even Walden, Hennessee, Bowman, and Tommy Stephenson are the types of faces that I remember in the more seedy environments of the past where bar table dominance was contested. THis is a tough question.
I thought about this for a while, and it's impossible to pick 6. I started out with about 20 names on my list and after I would think a while, I would go and remove one.

This probably won't betoo poular, but I'm not sure Matlock is going to be there anymore or that he even wants to be. I think the IPT ordeal really deflated David as he really put a lot of effort into that and it brokehis heart. It pains me to say it as I was oneof the biggest Matlock fans on the planet.
There is another up and comer from the KC area too named James Barracks Jr. This guy isonly 19 and breaks like Tarzan.
