What is Dippy Dave's Speed

I think the same JCIN. Thought I read him price himself out, not too long ago.

MAybe he'll get the itch to play later and there will be coupons.

He would beat most B players playing 1-hole.

Just my humble opinion based on watching him for a few hours.

He deserves a LOT more respect (playing wise) than what a lot of people give him.

dippy is no where near a bplayer, iam a b player and he has 10 8 any time he wants it,i will go to him on his table,he is the worst 1pocket player that ever gamble!

hung with him for a few days about 10 years ago in youngstown....what a character but a good guy

This is a no knock thread. I've been reading about Dippy Daves' high dollar betting contests and getting some crazy spots.

I'm just curious what speed he plays. I'm sure his speed is not any secret as most have seen him play big names for big dollars. But just trying to put those crazy spots in perspective would help if we knew how he played.

You can use an APA handicap system to "rate" him because most know that system, or just use the following system:

A+ Pro or former pro
A Master level
A- Close to master / top league player
Isn't a top league player a 5or6 who can beat the 9's:grin-square:

Dippy is good player for the cash

I'm 66 years old and haven't hit a single ball in over a year and probably need a ball from the dipster but I would have to play him even if he gives me a couple of weeks to hit balls and I assure you he wouldn't high roll or outbet me because I've been beat so very many times that one more big loss wouldn't scare me, and for all those champions giving up the 19-4, my ph. number here in Louisiana is 504-451-9603. Please don't be bashful.......

Humphrey,
YOu had your chance the other night with Dippy in the chat. While I don't think you have to like it (you just don't play like you used to and you don't stay in action like Dippy-do), it would be nice to see old "money-bags" post some up with the Viffer. You know you and I are all right but if you don't play for at least a few months before you get into action with Dave, I don't want to watch the match. :embarrassed2:

Viff: Humphrey (Geral Huber) has more money than Poker Players. Hell, he's probably got as much dough as Michael Jordan... OK, well that's a bit of a stretch but you can win something from him.

OK, I've done my part for both parties. Send me my jelly when it's over.

Best Regards,
JoeyA

Swing it Jerry Baby! Old suckers never die, they just keep getting pumped up . Congratulations on your new BR! I have one word of advice for you. Have someone sew your pockets shut! :D

B player can me a lot of different things depending on where you are. A "B Player" in some parts of the country is an A player in New York. Also, A "B player" in New York is an A player in other parts of the country.

From what I've seen, its hard to say. His 9ball game, at least what I've got to see, is terrible. Low C speed at best, though I have seen him just pocketing balls when they didn't matter and not many were around and it was far better than C speed... so, that is hard to tell.

One pocket wise, Dippy should beat most B players even. He moves very well and will out think a B player. His cueball is good when he doesn't do something crazy and he banks very well. He just doesnt run balls.

Getting crazy one pocket weight from a top tier one pocket player can make any B player look foolish. Gabe, Alex, Frost, Silver, etc can all come with a huge shot and run balls or just lock you up so bad you wanna cry. I tried it, its tougher than I thought.

Sweet, according to your APA scale I am a B+ player as a 7 with a high win %! Too bad I know I am really only a C player on most scales :(. Still...a C is a passing grade at least.

LOL... that is exactly what I was thinking when I read the scale. Although I try to give myself the benefit of the doubt and say I am at least C+. But I guess between C and C+ it really doesn't matter much.

G

Been watching Viffer more on a poker table than a pool table. He'll play a sloppy hand and drop $50,000-$100,000 just to get things stirring. I don't think anyone at the poker table is really in their comfort zone playing him for a big pot. What that means on a pool table is that I'd rate him a "G", likely to be "Good enough" when the bet gets right!
