Southeast Cues are still being made in Clarksville TN I believe. I was on their website the other day. I had a sneaky at one time, not a bad hitting little cue.

7 pages in and no love for Dickie Neighbours who makes awesome cues?? Insane because that man makes cues with so much response that the cue feels like an extension of my arm and I can precisely control the speed I want. Naturally weighted cue so no crappy weight bolts = loads more feel.

My top 5?

Dickie Neighbours cue with a different design.
Predator Ikon 7 with the original 314 shaft because I dont like 314/2 as much. I also want this cue as its the best predator can offer, and I want people to see that ANY predator sucks compared to my player (the dickie neighbours one)
Mezz Masse Cue
Diveney Jump Cue
Mezz Power Drive.

The only player I want to use is the one I own so I'd spend the money more economically. I'm not one for buying cues just to look good so I'd buy stuff to fill out the rest of my case :)

There is something to be said about what part of the country you live in ... your opinion is usually biased towards that end. If you live somewhere between NYC and Richmond VA chances are your opinion will lean toward the Maryland phenomenon of Excellent cuemaking that is going on there. Phillipi , BlackBoar, Frey, Joss(*) , Lambros, Scruggs are hard to deny. It is odd that such a small state is home to 20 % of the top 25 custom cuemakers on the planet.
When I moved a thousand miles away I realized that familiarity with cues is incredibly regional in addition to being a matter of opinion. For example in Florida "Searing" is hugely popular and after hitting with two of them I find them only average, they pale in comparison to Scruggs and my playing cue my BlackBoar. If you gave me a Searing i'd sell it and look for a Thomas Wayne cue from Alaska (and by the way I've never been to Alaska).
If i run into one more moron who has been playing less than 5 years and wants to sing the praises of a poolplayer who in his retiring from playing stages of his life and now makes cues i may slit my wrists.

two cents: broaden your horizons when thinking about buying a custom cue and worst case scenario play with it a few months if you don't like it sell it and on to the next one. And, even better hold onto it and maybe the cuemaker dies and you make alot off of holding onto it.

Let me know when you want to dump the "average" playing Searings for something from Alaska. :D

Searings are quite fashionable in lots of areas of the Country. I'm in California and think Dennis makes a great cue.

Thanks

Kevin
