Who makes the best plane jane cues

Can someone post some TAD pics? Why is TAD dominating?

I would say Bebot Bautista, Ed Prewitt, Brian Mordt, and BHQ should be on this list somewhere. Let me +1 Robert Fisher.

Here are some plain jane TADs. I have a few TADs. They are absolutely one of the best hitting cues out there, hands down. (I took the pictures from the TAD cue gallery)

Tad's are good cues. Plain birdseye Tad's typically sell for $1200 and hold their value really well. They are very desirable player's cues. Each shaft is worth $250 - $300.

Tad has a nice taper on the shaft and uses premium shaft wood from his old supply. They slowly cut their shafts during the summer months. Consequently they play well and a high percentage stay straight.

The balance, feel, and hit of a Tad is very neutral. Firm, but not too firm. Lively, but not too lively. Everything is "just right" and they tend to be pretty consistent from cue to cue.

Tad's cues are great. Tad's tips.... not so much.

The cues are decent but that wolf blanket is SWEET!

Chad McClennan = Maple player = SS joint
Jacoby = Maple player = SS joint

Im sure there is a lot of cuemakers that can produce a great hitting pj considering the type of hit you like. But these two stand out by the specs and type of hit i prefer using their standard specs.

If I didn't build cues and needed one and only had about 500$ for a plain Jane I would go with Bryan Mordt.

I'm bias bc I have never bought. Plane Jane in my life. Basic requirement for a cue I will pay cash for is 4 point 4 veneers

Kerry Zeiler, Zylr Cues, if you can find one. Kerry died this past year, RIP, and no doubt they will become extremely scarce. Old Tads, made by Tad himself, are great cues. I haven't played the newer ones, made by his son, but I expect they play good too.

These are are few pictures of my Zylr. A great P.J. cue. R.I.P. Kerry
