A friend of mine is wanting to buy a BK2 and is not sure whether to get a wrap on it or not. I have one with a wrap and my main player has a leather wrap. So other than a house cue from time to time, I don't use wrapless cues.
Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to hear peoples opinions about wrapped -vs- wrapless cues. Better gripping, better appearance, mosisture affecting linen, etc.

Thanks! :D

I voted for wrapless thats what I like . If I had to choose a wrap it would be a leather wrap . Good luck to your friend what ever he chooses .

Have a nice day

I like wrapless-less upkeep-just wipe down at the end of playing, and maybe once a month a little shot of pledge

Get a bk2 sport edition it doesn't slip and ya know where to grip it everytime ya break. you won't be disappointed

I like a tacky wrap on a break cue. Something I can get a grip on and some of the new break cues on the market have rubber type wraps. I'm thinking about trying one to see if it will help my break.

I prefer wrapless. However on some cues I have no choice due to the build.
Anything but linen at that point.

Definitely wrapless. I have always played with wrapless cues. There is no question that I can grip a wrapless cue better. The friction between the finish on the BK2 (or really any wraples cue) seems significatly better than any wrap I have tried. On a playing cue this might not be as big of a deal, but on a breaker, it is invaluable. This is because the last thing you want to do on a break shot is have to grip the cue overly tight. Goodbye snap and power and accuracy if you do. I find the wrapless offers me the ability to grip the cue more loosely and still swing it very fast without fear of losing the cue!

IMHO, of course.

Wrapless -- you can install a rubber wrap yourself if you need to

Definitely wrapless. IMHO, one can always later add a rubber wrap (tube) if extra "grip" is needed on a break cue:

I lean slightly towards a wrapless cue even though I'm playing with a wrapped cue at this time. Definitely a wrapless for a break cue w/o a doubt.

My preference is towards a wrapless cue. My only problem is in the dead middle of summer my hands tend to get a little sweaty which makes it slippery. Nothing a towel can't fix.

Bob! Is he looking for a BK2 break cue? If he is, tell him to get the new sport wrap.. it's badass!

all the wrapped people are silent!

I like wrapped because my hands sweat.

Then wrapless may be better for you long term, less wear and tear.

Wrapless for me.

I like the wrapped cues a little better. No real reason, I just like the way they feel a little better.

You can try a rubber wrap at SBE

Are you going to SBE this year? If so, you might want to stop by the Longoni cues booth. Last year, they had a "test your break" challenge on a barbox with Tyler Edey wielding a speed gun. Most of the selection of Longoni break cues (which they are obviously encouraging you use for the challenge) had rubber wraps on 'em.

Hope this is helpful,

Thanks Everyone
