You know whats worse than losing $10,000 playing pool???

Waterdog was dead broke and hooked on drugs. He could barely play pool anymore and just sat on the street outside a bank begging for money. One day, a guy walks out of the bank and stuffs a fat envelope into his inside jacket pocket. But he missed! The envelope feel through his jacket and landed on the sidewalk about ten feet away from the Dog. The guy was in a hurry and never noticed what had happened.

Like a cat, the Dog grabbed the envelope and ran into an alley to see what was in it. Over five grand! And he didn't have two dollars on him. So if you're wondering, did he do the right thing? Of course! He booked a room at a hotel, called room service, got drugged up and went to the poolroom. He threw a nice party there for the next few days, until he ran out of ammo. Waterdog told me this story with glee one day, and maybe two years later he was dead. I don't think he made it to 50.

Luxury, thats a sad story. I bet your father was a hard working man and did a honest days work. And going to a bible study too. F/n bikers, but ya know, the Hand of the Almighty can futz you up. Just like Jay's story, it leaves me wondering about the eventual fate of the bikers.

Really....... that's the best you could come with?

Dont underestimate the costs of hookers and blow!

4 Oz. Coke - $3.5k

1 Medium Quality Hooker - $1k/day

Good food - $500/day

Booze - $400

Champaign - $750

Condoms - $50

Suite in Casino - $850/night

Balance after 2 days of partying - $600 and that's when you realize Vegas sucks.

i didnt go to the pool room, i drove from vegas to la, and stayed home the past 4 days(my back hurt to much to play), thinking the whole time the loot was in my cue case. When i saw it wasnt in the cue case-i fugured it was in my duffel bag. I travel alot and awalys have the same gun, glasses, contacts, spot for hte loot, cue, etc. I remember the strap was real tight on the cash so it was a full 100 $100 bills.

Nobody was here, i didnt go anywhere. I lost it loading the car before the drive the other night leaving Vegas on T-Day late at nite. Man i'm sick, i havent made $$$ in 30 months as of Dec 1, so this the worst time, if I was making $$$ I really wouldnt care-but i'm not and it stings like hell. Man i have awalys been a scatter brain but i'm getting worse.

I hope everyone has a better than me.
This is terrible, it would be bad enough if someone won it from you, but at least you would have had a chance to win something or at least break even. I've lost money before and it wasn't a very large amount, but to lose 10K is heartbreaking. Maybe it will turn up somewhere in your stuff and all will be well again.........

Just throwing my suggestion, check under the driver seat of your car. Sometimes, it falls on either side of your seat and slides underneath...just an idea...

checked the car-still missing. its about impossible for it to be missing. i will go into detail later, thanks everyone.

sorry

sorry to hear about this mishap....the way I look at losses now, whether it be cash or something valuable, (and it has happened to me too)...is I put it into this perspective........

Over the last few years, my house has lost over $150,000 in value; and I've lost in the stock market and other investments too......Life just isn't always fair because if I knew I was gonna lose it anyway, I coulda at least had some fun with it, and pisssed it away myself......so whatever cash I lose, I just chalk it up to being part of the other losses.....hope this helps.....

Do you really keep that kind of calendar? Just a suggestion - if you want to make some money, get a job. No ones over qualified to flip burgers. Just my humble opinion...

Eric,

I've got a feeling it's going to show up.....thoughts and prayers amigo.....check every single pocket you can think of and look everywhere...I mean, even places you would never put the money....keep the faith, I bet you find it within 48 hours.....

Wow eric, that hurts. You may want to have a pre-easter,easter egg hunt & invite alllll the kids, after the hunt you can have a tsa member give them all a full body scan & pat down just in case theres 1 street smart kid in the goupe,Just kidding of course but i do hope it turns up. If i loose 10k i hope its tied to the wife at the time.

I hope the Karma from the good deed you did for me now comes back to you and you find your money.

For $10,000.00 and piece of mind go get hypnotized and find out what happened... I lost some prescription pain pills over a year ago and just found them last week. I was sure they had disappeared at my daughter's b-day party, but apparently this old Dad just hid them too well.

Thanks for caring. He was a ups truck driver his entire career working overtime putting the three of us kids through private school with my mom staying home with us making a few bucks making crafts that she would sell. As sad as it was at the time they are still together and loving their retirement in Arizona in a nice home.

That sure is one miserable feeling. I still remember losing $300 that fell out of my track pants pocket. Relatively this was alot of money for me 8 years ago, and still stings. I just told my buddy about it two days ago.

You may want to place an ad in the newspaper around the area your bank is in. Maybe a somewhat good samaritan is waiting for a "sign" to do the right thing, other than letting just turning it in. They might do like Jay's friend did and party. Might be worth the $10 bucks.

First, hope your coke is good stuff, that's a lot for 4oz! Second, I would save money on that list by not using condoms, that 50 bucks could be put to better use! (hehe, obviously just joking!)

To Fatboy, your loss stinks, but if you are anything like me, you will find it in a couple days. I get so freakin paranoid when I have lots of cash on me that I hide it in the craziest places, then go to bed and forget where I hid the money! Of course, I like to drink, so that doesn't help. :)

Just a little story while we are talking about lost money... I was on a street corner (hold on, wait for the rest before you say anything) holding a political sign for a friend of mine that was running for office and was chit chatting with the other people near me. I struck up a conversation with a guy about the lottery and how I was luckier than most people for whatever reason. He doubted me, I went across the street to a convenience store and bought two scratch off tickets and won 100 bucks. He still said it was a fluke. About two hours later, after a few cars had pulled into parking spots near where we were at, I happen to look down into the gutter and see a flash of light. I ask the guy to hold my sign for me, went and grabbed it, and it was a gold money clip with 750 bucks in it... no ID. The guy I was holding signs with no longer doubted I was luckier than average. :) :) :) :)

Much smaller scale

On Friday of the Labor day w/end. I deposited an unemployment check at the ATM in front of the bank. As I made the selection to withdraw $300, someone came up behind me diverting my attention. It was a pretty woman.

I heard the ATM ringing, returned my attention to the ATM. I retrieved my bank card and receipt, and left, smiling at the young lady. She returned the smile and apologized for startling me during my transaction. I assured her that it was OK.

I went to the car, drove home and continued the day. The next day I went to pay our caregiver for the day-and only had $40-the same $40 that I had before I went to get money from the ATM.

Yep-I walked off leaving the $300 in the ATM dispenser.

Duh.

PS:inquiry at the bank was fruitless-apparently the ATM cameras are not on continuously. Nor could the bank access any footage of my transaction that might have shown the person behind me. They did agree, however that it was stupid on my part to walk away from the ATM without my withdrawl.

I can't argue with that. As they say-there's no cure for stupid-I just hope I'm not contagious.

FB-sorry to hear of your loss. I can only imagine how bummed you are. My little deal bummed me. $300 is a distant relative of $10,000.

Edit: FB-that's good news that you found the $10K. But very bad news on the Arbitration results.
