Cue Design Websites

Is there any place out there where you can go and design your own cue?

I am talking about a website where you have access to tons of various inlays, points, diagrams, aesthetics, etc, etc. And can make a cue just exactly like you want.

As an example, I am sure almost all the various automakers have a "Build Your Own" feature on their websites. That's similar to what I am talking about.

Great idea, you could literally design your dream!

Cue Design Websites

Just happened to run across this website. It's sort of what I was looking for but it seems very user unfriendly.

I wonder why it looks so McDermott-y. Don't they have their own custom cues (but without this tool available)?

Tournament fees are out of control

i don't know sh-t about him except he is a touring pro that likely doesn't make enough to even break even with his full expenses. if that is true then he isn't a pro...
Hunter gives lessons, which can help. An instructor I know makes over $100k/year on lessons, but I don't know if Hunter is that active. Lessons can bring in over $100/hour and clinics (8-20 students) can bring in a lot more per hour.

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

You're right, but even this market is shrinking, as people would rather buy something from their own backyard than across the ocean. I still know a few people who like to spend big on American hand made cues, and know the market well. Even then, lots tend to go REALLY big, with south west, black boar, TAD, Scruggs and others, before they go for many of the other great makers. What I see predominately, are what I would call 'factory custom' cues rising in price (like Zen, Exceed etc), where people choose from a variety of parts ready to be pieced together in a large warehouse, and a fabricated wait time of 2 years or more to simulate the rarity/specialness and drive the value up.

If there were a reasonably priced online "build a cue" from a quality company with an actual high level of customization (especially for a reasonable price), I would totally be into it.

Turning Stone

There was some question about the Turning Stone events continuing, but it looks like things are OK through the June season finale. Date TBA.

Top 10 in this one:

Jayson Shaw 834
Moritz Neuhausen 818
Jesus Atencio 797
Danny Hewitt 772
Jeremy Sossei 764
Lukas Fracasso-Verner 761
Donny Mills 752
Erik Hjorleifson 751
Hunter Lombardo 740
Christoph Neumayer 739
Yeah, pretty decent field. I'm driving up there tomorrow.

The best thing about Turning Stone is the hotel itself. It's the best hotel to which my pool travels take me.

I don't remember these tournaments

The one match I saw on YouTube was Strickland and Mike massey. It was horrible to watch it just looked like chaos.
This was the semi-finals. Mike Massey was already way passed his prime and concentrating on trick shots with exhibitions. But Mike Massey was such a good player, and his third place finish in this tournament was super exciting for everyone.

The finals was Roger Griffis versus Earl Strickland. Roger was interviewed, and he said that he loved this format because nobody could duck and hide. I would say that that means that his safety game wasn’t as good as his shotmaking. I watched Roger run about 100+ ball in straight ball all the while saying that he had no clue what he was doing. He had no clue what he was doing. But his shot making skills were so good.
