I am guessing that if Dennis' (probably former now) backer was upset about the arrangements between them then he/she is probably really hot now that the business is put on the street.
Kinda makes me leery of becoming a backer to someone when I feel that our dealings can be made public knowledge.
Tap Tap !!

Dennis has been up and down th pike many many times and I expect he knows what is best in this situation. This is only my guess.
There are many out there these days who are only "fair weather backers". They want to be involved in low investment deals and risk very little. They like being involved with good players, but, when the talk turns serious or for serious nvestment, they fll far to the rear of the crowd.
I can see both sides of this and I don't fault Dennis at all. When uo go to an event with a small entry and win around $1000-$1200 and have to split it, well, let's face it, $5-600 ain't much money these days.
My point, there are two perspectives to everything.
I agree that ...I just still think that it's a bit of a stretch to say that you are looking for a backer to back you against anyone in the world. So am I....

But this guy wanted (half?) of all his winnings from Joss tourneys and other regional events, where he could easily pay his way? Maybe not before, but now that he's going well? So the guy owns him forever? That's not right ... one of the perhaps best 20 players in the world shouldn't have to be anybody's serf.
Why am I not surprised?
A top cuemaker. Who make a great cue For Dennis to play with and was to give it back to Dan. But he Sold it.
this is just another reason why i respect bartram. there is no b.s. with him. he makes a game, backs himself and plays. and when that game is done..he is looking for another one. pool needs more players like bartram.
POOL SUCKS :frown::frown::frown:
He must have learned that move from the Great Jose Parcia.
As far as backing Dennis goes. All I hear everyday on this forum is how unbeatable Dennis is and how nobody will play him because he is the greatest gambler. He is the best small pocket player, the best money player around and according to some just plain untouchable.
For such a sure thing he should have no problem getting a backer. Well I hope he does because Daz is ready to play and would be dissappointed if the match didn't go off. Daz knows it is going to be real tough but that is exactly how he likes it.
