Glen,
I hope you take a minute to read this. This is really an off the wall post for me - sorry to everybody else who reads it.
Most of the participants here are people with jobs, families, businesses, homes and daily responsibilities. Anybody who tries to live a responsible daily life would be appalled by your reaction, but they would not truly understand what causes it.
I look at the good you've done for people, the charitable, helpful person you can be, and I think I know what motivates you. You are one of those rare individuals whose pride and sense of self comes from truly pleasing others in their work. They are people whose self respect and daily gratification comes from being loved and adored by their customers. How we seek or respond to praise has a lot to do with who we are, how we were brought up
When things don't work out - and you are not loved - you say you don't care.
Glen, you will not find true fulfillment or lasting gratification from your customers. You may get praise, and admiration, but it's shallow and goes away quickly. It's cheap and disappears, because you're only as good as your last job, and your customers are only loyal as long as they feel like they benefit from your relationship.
Love is a primal thing that comes from deep within us and it comes from caring - truly caring - for another human being, and getting the same back in return. Love is not something we do for money, or are good at, or is even a skill, or is satisfied by praise. We seek it where we can and find it in some strange places.
What you need to do to clear up the nightmare that has become your life is to start taking care of business every day, make it a goal. Learn how to say "no" to customers when it doesn't make business sense for you. Allow for the "jesus factor" * when you schedule yourself.
Chris
* Jesus, that took longer than I thought! Jesus, I forgot about that! Jesus, I'm sorry I screwed up.
Thank you for all of your imput, I think I'll just give the money back to Milpeach and let the DR collect it from him...since he sold the table to him in the first place, it's up to the DR to collect it:wink:

The peanut gallery ALWAYS has something to say....I love it here:grin: Everything will turn out right though and I won't even charge a fee for chasing after lost money and recovering it:grin:...LOL Even with nothing in writing, I'm not the one to screw someone over, I'm the person that bends over backwards to make sure things are right:grin:
Glen
PS. I know, some of you just have to add more comments, but this thread is dead.
