Earl's new cue

The first Earl and Shane match, as soon as we were asked to play it was on. Earl played where they wanted for what they wanted with their rules, we lost, we paid. I tried to get Mike Sigel into a match with a true athlete and now Shane, lot of talk but no commitments.

Be careful what you wish for...

Guys,

I will say this:

I have shot pool for about 10 yrs now and hit with many cues thus far trying them out and looking for that "hit".

I purchased a Judd a couple months ago and loved it. I came into a trade and now have a Gilbert. The Gilbert hit good, that's why I traded. I never knew Mike and was in the Greenville area and went by to get a tip put on one of my shafts. Mike let me go upstairs and hit a ball with the cue like Earl's. I hit where I'm aiming and still get action on the ball. Weird in all my 10 yrs of hitting a ball. I had Mike put the taper on one of my shafts and there is nothing like it in the world. Awesome.

Thanks Mike.....

Sorry I was on vacation and just now found this thread.

I will stake Shane for up to 10-100K against Earl in a race to 100. Shane and I are both very busy and scheduling a match can sometimes be difficult. I am willing to do something at Derby, both Shane and I will be there the whole time. I don't think we will have time to do a race to 100 but we can do 5-10K sets race to 21 as time permits.

As far as the rules go we can play call everything the 10 doesn't count on the break and you can break from wherever you want. A six inch break box is a joke, Shane has practiced his break for years and you want to match up and tell him where he has to put the cue on the break? Any diamond table that hasn't been modified is fine with me.

The ball is in your court, hope to play this match soon.

No talking?

No talking is always a tough one to enforce.

Earlier this year I bought a custom jump break cue from Mike. Awesome cue for me built just as I requested. Over several conversations and a few months Mike produced the cue I envisioned. His work is top level.
This cue will never be sold and may go with me to the grave!

I highly reccomend Mike's cues to anybody.

Like I said last time we played his rules on a table at a place of his choosing. We want to play in Youngstown Ohio at Ice Breakers Billiards. My partner owns this place and would like to host the Earl Shane II match, 10 ball to 100. The call shot is good with the option. Ten goes last and the other stuff can be negotiated. I will commit to this match today if you will play at Ice Breakers. The Derby is out. I do not know if we are even going at this point.

Mike,
You should consider streaming the event. It could possibly give your partner's place some well deserved recognition.

Lets see this happen.....

Shane VS Earl.... America's ace vs Amerca's legend....this is gonna be good. do the race to 100...forget to 21...do the longevity test...test of skill, mentality, and true heart... I've seen earl play and lose it all with a couple bad rolls and he just starts throwin the cue around.....If he can play through his somewhat uncontollable anger...then this could def be the Color of Money match we have all been waiting for since the original....

If Earl won the match.......

Imagine all the things we'd learn in watching this match........i'm already getting a notebook ready to dissect every shot....

Test drives

You have to remember we are talking about a legend who has probably hit every great cue on earth thru the years. Most regular people rarely get the chance to play with a Zam or Bushka! I would guess he has hit these and many more. To me it would be easy to pick a cue I liked f I could line em up and hit balls. The best hit I ever was impressed with was a Wheeler. When someone I know gets a new cue I say let me hit some with it. This is how we learn. My string of sticks reflects more my skinny wallet than serious thought. Adams, McDermott , Bludworth sneaky(butt heavy) , Shurtz and a new custom still being born. The Shurtz is the best hitter by far once I dumped the OB1 and got back to org. Shaft. Never heard negative reviews of a Shurtz, I guess there sort of new to the scene. Gabes dad is involved I understand. I stumbled on my Shurtz having never heard of them about 2004. Guy let me test drive it. 4 point coco $180 new! Believe that cue sells for $400 now. Buying a cue just like a pro plays with is insane. You can't move the rock like they do. Notice how you don't really like anybody elses cue, it's cause it plays diff than what you are used to. I should have bought that Wheeler that's for sure. Bottom line is it ain't the arrow it's the Indian!!
