Earl's new cue

I don't get the whole 6 inch break box? Why not just put 10 balls in a bucket along with the cueball, hold the bucket 3 inches above the endrail and just dump them out.

How do you like these rules. I guarantee that this will produce the best player. Not the guy that makes the 10 on the break or comes with 10 ball combination's, but the guy that can get out of the most racks because of great shooting.

You are starting to talk out both sides of your mouth and with every post you add more rules.

Here is what we know so far:
Only play at one pool hall
Only play on a 5' x 10' table
6" break box
10 Ball doesn't count out of turn
All shots have to be called
40 second shot clock
Referee has to rack the balls
Referee calls the fouls
I am sure more would be added....

How about these rules:
No elbow pads
No pool gloves
No weights, ass or otherwise
No pool cue greater than 59"
No talking to the crowd or to the other player

The bottom line is if you truly believe that Earl is playing the six ball better than he was in his prime you wouldn't have all of these stupid rules and you would just play.

How do you like my bucket dump break rules? I think that could be fun.

well mike all i can say is that cuetec cues is better then your cues because theres no way in gods green earth that a cue stick can be 63 inches the standard length of cues today is 58 i have shot with cuetec cues and i would love to be sponsered by them to me mike cuetec and me go han d in hand quite well allison fisher is still shooting with cuetec and to me allison might not win a wpba event but she is still the best earl could never beat her ~travis trotter:thumbup:

Back to the original topic of this thread. I saw this thread shortly after Mike posted it and as the owner of one of his custom cue's I knew that if he put half the amount of work and talent into the MGLD as he did the custom cue I have then it would be nothing less then awesome. I have the advantage of living nearby (35 miles) to his shop so I made a beeline the next day in hopes of being able to buy one. I have to say I'm torn between the custom I own and the MGLD. The MGLD requires a level of expertise that I have yet to acquire but I feel that it will helped me more then any other cue I own and it has really helped my game more then I thought possible. On a side note, I've seen post's on here that borderline "flaming" and my thought is this, "If you can't say anything nice then it your own insecurities that make you lash out at others to try and make you feel better about yourself". I know one thing that makes a pool player great, if you can't respect a makers cue or even learn how to shoot with it, then you have no business on a table. Mr. Gulyassy please keep up the great work as I know your cue's are winners and they serve to improve my game as I know anyone worth their salt would do as well. Hope you get to feeling better, cause this cold, flu or whatever is kicking my ass too, LOL.

I agree, but welcome to AZ billiards. This sort of thing happens all the time, normally worse.

Its ok if you're scared John, we'd all understand. ;)

I am scared, I am staking shane on some prototype one off gaff table with every rule trying to help only one player.

I don't think it matters because Shane can beat Earl on any table with any rules. I just hope we don't hear excuses after Shane bbq's him on his terms.

By the way the window is WIDE open on this match if you like Earl and are willing to bet even.

I think Earl BBQ's Shane!!! You got $2K I can borrow to bet you? Just add it to my tab. ;) Can't wait to see ya in Youngstown brother. I will bet I can grab the dinner tab before you get it!!

I know that Russian Pyramid is a totally different game with bigger tables, balls and strategy. But since I first saw the specifications of Earl's new cue I said. This is what they use, a Std 63" cue. So they "idea" isn't that brand new, only in "American Pool".

Post Up

Allot of woofin' too bad we don't have audio attached to these threads.
Ran across a pair of Mizerak Balabuskas years ago they were 61-62'' long. Players with swings like Earl and Steve have the ability to play better and do more with a longer cuestick. Being 6'6'' I've always had a big advantage of getting in closer on shape to balls down table in rotation games, also feel my long arms give me allot more to work with when it comes to swing. It almost feels like Earl with his new cue now has arms as long as I do, Mike, what length is Earls break cue?
