Worlds Greatest Player vs. the Peoples Champion

Anyone else sick and tired of hearing ppl on here whinning about how diamond tables play? I get it your chinese gold crown plays so much better. The fact of the matter is both tables do play different and most idiots shoot on a diamond one time and can't get used to it right away and then it "sucks"

If anyone really thinks that Earl has a chance at this game, please rob me. I will give up 3-1 on the money and take Shane. If Shane loses, I pay off and if Shane plays the second set on the nine footer, I get to bet the same amount and the second time I will lay 6-1. So, if you really think Earl can win, and he cant, bet at least 100 to win 300. The window will not close for a while so go rob some 7-11's or collect from your bookie. All money (including mine) must be posted with someone reputable. Nobody barred as long as you post, even Nasty. Wow if anyone bets I feel like it is a late Christmas present. Oh, and by the way, 15 years ago Shane would still hijack Earl.

Fifteen years ago, Shane was 12 years old! I think Shane would have needed a little weight, like maybe half the balls!

Sorry Jay I couldnt control myself. You are welcome to bet on Earl at 3-1. But only if you are mad at your money!!!

BC,
I will put $100 on Earl. I don't know if you will be at Derby City, I can post there if you'd like. The local pros know you, I'm not worried about you posting. I've always enjoyed your participation here.

I hope the match comes off, and I hope its streamed. Should be a great match no matter the outcome, perhaps Earl can tap into 1985 (25 years ago) and actually win a game or two.

P.S. - I'm still casing the local 7-11, I will contact you if the heist is successful....

You got me for a $100. I'll be there and we can post or we can both give it to Chris to hold doesn't matter. Let me know how the 7-11 goes, I'm still dying for more action.

im saying svb is in better pool shape.
Thats all that matters here.
In fact it dont even matter here they playing a race to 33
each day.
Play the whole race to 100 1 day.

i like this idea...... Anybody can play 25 or 30 games a day....... But 100 in one session that would b great to watch

OK i just read all 11 pages of this and its getting rediculous, first Earls old eyes, what is Earl like late 40's maybe 50 (I dont know) you guys act like he's 85 or something... how old were all these great straight pool players when they were winning, some pretty old

second, Earl def. has the skill to beat anyone at anytime so i dont understand why everyone is so on Shane's johnson, great player yes, I understand he won the last time they played, but haven't players (us included) played somebody and the results were onsided only to have it go the other way the next time, you're lying if you say you haven't

I am not one to stick my neck out there and disagree with probably like 1/2 of you, but anyone is beatable at anytime and I dont feel that 1 person has anyones number not from what I've seen,

also can we stop it with the Diamond table complaints....it goes back to the old saying IMO we both have to shoot on the same table dont we.

I am a fan of Earls and agree that his high gear is untouched but that still doesn't mean that things wont happen(bad rolls etc.) or someone else wont hit their high gear at the same time. is this really gonna prove who is best? I dont think shane has enough titles under his belt to be considered the best at what he does. sorry

Mike and Earl forgot one major factor from last time....the GREMLINS. :D:D:D Bar them from ringside and Earl may be victorious. Anything less = SVB win

i kinda like this idea, it made me think of the valley forge SBE amateur open format. Maybe someday someone could do races to 10, 15 round title bout. First person to score 8 points wins. This action would be more intense for the viewers, maybe even for the players. Some points would be more well deserved than others, however. Let's say that one guy does run a ten pack, then loses the next one on the hill. Might not go to that extreme, but I'm sure you get the point.

A 20 ahead set or something would be cool too, but might never end.

Might be good to keep the race to 100, but add a 20 game mercy rule after 75 games or something. So if there is a blowout, then we'd all be spared the anti-climatic finish.

aaah but think about it...10 sets of 10 would also raise the possibility of betting on a draw between the 2 players;)

I am not quite bored enough to do it but I think that if the Hong Kong Challenge/Color of Money between Earl and Efren was that format Earl wins that match simply on how that match played out.

Efren won the race to 120, but I am guessing Earl won the majoritty of races to 10 in that set.

In that sense you could also have the whole set over in 6 sets with a total game score of 60-54 because at best Earl could only win 4 more sets and could actually come out winning more games, but losing the game.

I still like the race to 100 better and love that it's being played on a 5x10.
