he gets on here and insults me ,says im hiding, and begs to play, now great moneys offered and he wont play.
thats ridiculous danny.

I think if they played an all-around, Strickland would be an underdog....even now. Sigel doesn't have that "quit-stroke" in him like Strickland has. Sigel is a far smarter player... he'd prob have Earl talking to himself.

So then, they would both be talking to themselves.

Ummm....not really. Just cause you don't see him often doesn't mean he misses much. He ran 180 on me not long ago (1 shot at a time, wasn't even trying) and won something like 20 straight games of 10-ball at a regional tour event.

I know he can still play, but has he really been in the grease within the last 20 years? Truth be told, I would have no choice but to root for Mike if it did go down, but I would still take Earl if you wanted to get a little sweat bet down... even if it was an all-around format.

Ok TAR, line it up.

I watched Sigel run 150 and out against somebody at the World 14:1 from last year. He doesn't look like he's lost much of his former pace.

As you can tell from my avatar, I'm Earl's biggest fan and have a real hard time rooting against him (I never do, actually). If 14.1 was part of a 3-way line up (Earl is a HUGE underdog with that), I'd have to bet on Sigel regardless of what the other games were since 1/3 would be locked up and 1 of the next 2 (assuming banks/1pkt) would be a slight favor to Mike. This is all conjecture because it'd never happen anyways.

Back to the goat....

Lol. Thats me lock artist. Next time you come out of the house to a tourney we will take a poll on this, i highly doubt i get that label. Now you, thats another story.
And if im getting robbed so bad get them here and stake em...I like to play...

Your slipping. You being you are supposed to ask for much more weight from a US Open 9 Ball Champion. That's the irony in this whole situation.

And lighten up, I'm just messing with you. And yes, I would bet against you playing John with the 8. And yes, John Schmidt thought I was Big Pusssy from the Sopranos back in 2006 at the IPT in Orlando. And yes, he asked me for my autograph and a photo with him and his girl...(true story)

And yes, I have a friend named Cheddar Bob. And yes, I have a job that requires a major amount of travel. Last thing I want to do is hang out in a smokey, dirty pool room for 16 hours on Saturday and possibly Sunday if I don't go two and out.

Ya, Earl would definitely be a dog in 14.1. I don't know, you may be right. It would be fun to see, but I'm sure you're right that it won't happen.

Love the avatar, BTW.

Take care,
Aaron

I played a few events with Sigel in the not too distant past and- while I know we bored him with out little events- I hope he played better back in the day! My uneducated a$$ puts him @60-80% speed these days.

heres the deal ,i owned a business and worked 12 hours a day for last 14 months.lost nothing but money played pool rarely etc.
there is no diamonds anywhere near where i live maybe 160 miles etc.
ill practice 3 days for about 4 hours on gc then hit balls for about 4 hours 1 day before match on diamond.
hes just being difficult etc

Yea i remember you talking about riding motorcycle the whole month before the bartram match and not practicing...way to protect the backers money...

DogsPlayingPool :So then, they would both be talking to themselves.

AtLarge: ...and everyone else in the room.

InI: NO BET.

ive played pool 18 years i have quit for 90 days and gotten razor sharp in a 4 hours., its not that hard once u know how to play.

John,
Why won't you tell them the Big Pussssy story from the IPT in Orlando? Of did you forget? Ima back you vs Jumpin if you come down here.

When was the last time a pool player was offered flight, hotel, (and I am sure that meals would be bought by some do gooder in Vega$ as well) plus a guaranteed $1,000 and a chance to win $5,000 more? This is before you get some backer to put up more cheese for you to fire at.

To me, it is unreal but I guess I shouldn't be surprised that two pool players didn't jump over a goat on the edge of a cliff to get to this opportunity. However, it shouldn't break down to people calling these two names (or for that matter even more shocking is that Danny would even call JCIN any kind of name even in fun) as I respect John (but don't really know him except for drinking a beer with him one time in Vega$) and respect Danny as he has had his quirks but is a pool player that I feel can be trusted with money. Beyond that, why the two of them can't realize that this is another big stepping stone for TAR. I was involved in one TAR match (and another as a after the main show event) and can tell you all Justin got was a % of the live attendance gate and his hotel paid. In honesty, it didn't amount to much but was something which was better than nothing. Unfortunately, Justin won too easy and the DVD was never made so he got nothing from that as well. A few years later, we are to a nice offer of guaranteed amount of money by TAR.

I am not sure if JCIN thought this would get into a negotiation. If so, he might have started with expenses plus $500 guaranteed and $3000 to the winner. But again, in my mind, there should be no negotiation -- it should be a done deal.

John and Danny - how much is the most you have made in a year from a sponsor? Was it $118,548? I'll do the math for you -- $1,000 guaranteed for 3 days play for TAR. That is $333 a day X 365 days in a year = $118,548.

And this is just the first go around for TAR. What if the PPV is more than what JCIN and his business partners think it will be. Maybe next time it goes to $2,000 and $10,000 for the winner.

But all that is being talked about is what has happened in the past. Nothing about the future. Once again, a pool player(s) is ready to cut off their nose to spite their face. Between this thread and reading about CW and Mika, no wonder why pool is dead.

Virginia is for lovers, but Vegas is for goats? I don't get the goat analogy.
