World Famous Lock Society Members pool matches and tournaments you have played in?

Welcome or unwelcome, good luck herding the cats

Hey Terry, the table is nearing completion so it's time you got up here for a visit.

Dave

I am not herding anything, Blue Hog ridr is my friend. And I hope I am his friend!
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

I try to play in two weekly tournaments, one in Albuquerque at Doc & Eddys and one in Rio Rancho at Slate Street, no big deals. Occasionally I'll get in the money.

The last tournament...... Sorry, I just realized that I'm not a member so I can't participate in this thread.

Terry:

That opening sort of had a "band camp" feel... :D

On topic with the thread, though, these are some of the tournaments I've played in:

  • Super Billiards Expo's Diamond Open/Pro 10-ball (3 years running)
  • Predator Pro-Am Tour's Open 10-ball (several stops, over the course of a couple years)
  • Mike Zuglan's Joss 9-ball Tour (a couple stops, here and there)
  • ...many smaller local tournaments, just to pass the time and for something to do on those rare times when the job doesn't get in the way:
    • weekly (Sunday) handicapped 9-ball tournaments at Fast Eddie's Pool and Billiards (New Milford, CT)
    • weekly (Sunday) handicapped 9-ball tournaments at Jack-n-Jills Billiards Cafe (Brewster, NY)
    • Greenfields Sports Bar & Pub end-of-year Open 9-ball (Denver, CO -- when I'm out there visiting my folks during the Christmas holidays)
    • ...etc.
I hope to play in more, but my time is entirely dictated by that continuous distraction to playing pool, that day job thing (which, unfortunately for me, sometimes seems like a 24/7 thing).

Hey Chop Doc,
You have been playing pool a long time. I bet you are not a banger now! Probably play real well. I like your story it is good. Good to hear from you too.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Well, thanks, but I really stopped playing in the early nineties and only just recently started playing a few games every few weeks or so. To say I am rusty would be kind. So, yeah, just a banger. But I'm cool with that.

Hey Sean,
That day time job is a holder back when it comes to our pool playing. You are right about that! How are you doing other wise, besides the job thing?
Many Regards,
Lock N load.

Hey ChopDoc,
I guess you think that when you have not been swimming in a long time you forget how to swim? Let somebody push you into the big water and see what happens! You can't fall in around Water Lock though he will be trying to save the water for Hanks famous water bottles. He will play you for a bottle of Hank's water too.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

All games

I (Rock Lock) have played in 8ball, 9ball, 10ball, 14.1, 1P, 3cushion tournaments. I have not won any of them.

I like to play some snooker, golf, banks.

I play mostly for the enjoyment.

Can I change my Lock Society name to Dead Money Lock?

ps: I practice good:confused: I play bad:frown:

I am not sure how you fared in the the other tourneys but if I recall correctly you snapped off the Denver deal:cool:

Nice work;)

Nice try, Tim. However, that match video had already been discussed in a previous thread. While Joey T. no doubt played great, it was my first time on a live stream table and I was suffering an excruciating sinus headache that day (you'll even hear the commentators talking about it at one point when they noticed I was in pain). Not a great showing by any stretch of the imagination and I fully admit that.

But of course, as is your nature, anything to throw potshots and create discord, right?

Meaning this is all pool related. List your pool matches and the tournaments you have played in. Buddy Hall who's Lock name is Original Lock has been busy winning some tournaments in Tampa, Florida, and Illinois. He was back at Paul's Place in Tampa last week. Una Lock, who's the Lock name of JoeyA. Won the One Pocket tournament at Buffalo's Billiards, the worlds pool hall, a couple of Fridays ago. World Famous Lock Society members, are representing good. Lock Nut of the world Famous Lock Society, won the once a month the first Saturday of the month Nine ball Tournament at Buffalo's Billiards, the worlds pool hall two months in a row. Congrats are in order to Lock Nut!

Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

I'm lost. I can't tell if I want to contribute to this thread or even if I'm allowed.

Freddie <~~~ has played one tournament in two years

:p I'm wondering if these "World Famous Lock Society members" are riding around in Parades in little funny looking go carts with dumb looking hat's like Shriners?

Probably not...they aren't supporting a hospital.

One things for sure, we or not posting in threads wasting our time, if you dont like this thread or any other, why bother, does it hurt that much?

Played in? Well... the first competitive match I played was in 1988 at the prestigious St. Stan's Social Club in the beautiful mill town of Turners Falls, MA....

You want to hear about the second match?

But seriously, my first tournament win was a single game double elimination 8-ball bar tourney at another local social club (see a pattern?) in 1988 also. I won this tournament the first two weeks I played and they politely asked me me to not to play again. All the players were friendly and liked me but the club felt that they'd lose the members who were playing just for the fun of it. I complied and ended up being a member and eventually played many times there as a league player. But, this was a significant thing for me because I was suddenly viewed as a local top gun, even though I was almost always the youngest player in the field.

Freddie <~~~ has at least a couple more stories

2 Turning Stones (played Larry Nevel, Brittney Bryant and Greg Antanoks)
Predator Tour events (played Phil Davis)
Bob Stocks Memorial
Hard Times Shootout
BCA Tour event #9 1999 (lost to Gary Spaeth)
Seattle Open 2005
Tons of weekly and monthly tournaments

Not at all - was merely trying to help, that's all. You are perfectly free to link footage of you not suffering from a bit of a headache, and maybe even potting a ball or two. ;)
