Nope, I haven't heard that. And the website still says Jan. 3.
But I just learned the following from reading the AzB Headline news announcing the Bonus Ball alternates. The Boston Young Guns team has been replaced by the Minnesota Outlaws. Hohmann and Engel made the move from Boston to Minnesota, and Ralf Souquet has replaced Mike Dechaine (who dropped out). If that was previously announced (other than Mike's leaving), I just missed it.
Edit: I now see that the BB website does have a news article from a couple weeks ago announcing this. But I'll leave this post up in case others missed it like I did.

I found it interesting that though there are different city teams it doesn't seem that the pros necessarily live in those cities since Bonus Ball is being filmed in Las Vegas. It seems like an artificial representation to me. This may not matter as most outside the pool world don't know the pro players to begin with and as such have no idea where they live.
A lot of baseball, football, and basketball players don't live in the state or city they play for. Johnnyt
I just got word it's delayed again. New start date is Feb. 7.
The WPBL website still shows matches scheduled for Jan 3. There is no announcement on either the WPBL website or AZB of another delay.
If this delay is for real, it either hasn't been officially noted, or it's not viewed as a sufficiently major story in the world of pool to merit an immediate press release.

I know, and many of those folks have multiple homes. Still, I think it would generate more fan interest if players representing a city lived there.
Yes, but every single one of them plays half of their games in that city and that's why local fans support them. Without having an association between the players and the city, where's the buzz?
Rest assured, although I'm a New York City guy, I wouldn't support the Knicks, Nets, Mets, Yankees, Jets or Giants if they didn't play any of their games in the New York Metropolitan Area.
Nonetheless, I am committed to giving bonus ball a chance, not just on their stream but by attending a bonus ball session in Vegas at some time. If the game itself is exciting to watch, that will make a serious fan of me.
Good luck to all at bonus ball. Whenever it begins, I'll definitely be checking it out.
Oh, its official. Tonight at 7 it was official. Delayed till Feb 7. Has zero to do with derby. Now it gets even stickier as it may run into the bca 8,10 ball, one pocket. I surw hope not, but these players dont have a say so. Because the bca is my favorite event. They are collecting checks and not playing right now. So they will have to be loyal to bonus ball before any other tourney.

Just because NO one has updated the website for something that has not even started yet is an indicator of the schedule adjustment but Jay getting confirmation from any of the Bonus Ball Pro's would sure be an indicator due to the non compete contract.

I am curious if they will pay the players who were scheduled to play in January? I mean $100K here $100K there....pretty soon thats starts to add up with nothing coming in.
One thing I am positive of...I hope no players signed a six month lease in Vegas back in November.
I used to be a professional high diver. Yes I got paid to jump around like a monkey into water four times a day.
Whenever we did shows or a season we would rent one or two apartments and all split the rent. There might be five or six people living in one small apartment and rookies got the couch or less.
I really hope that the players with BB are making similar arrangements and saving the cash. This all reminds me of the seasons I spent diving where my main goal was to get out without anything broken and as much cash as I could.
Larry paid the players enough cash have a Merry Christmas and yes, it could have been delayed only another week or two but Larry decided to skip past Derby. I think it was a great move for everyone involved in billiards. However, the BCA 10 ball is affected by the rescheduling. The good thing is there will only be four teams still playing at this time. That means the BCA will have the majority of the players available. Everyone have a great Christmas and get your tickets for the derby!
How many pool fans now will actually be going to the Derby now because of the new scheduling? I certainly hope that there will be many.
The format of the league is the way it is because of the enormous cost of building twelve venues in year one. Starting in one venue in Las Vegas made sense. With millions of visitors flying into Las Vegas for holidays anyhow, i think it was a good choice for the league to start here. There is no doubt that Larry and his partners will expand this league in the future to the actual cities. There is another modern sport that started in Las Vegas that you may have heard of. MMA. It has grown out nicely. Support which ever team you like. It really does not matter if you are from Winnipeg and you choose the New york franchise as your favorite! I already see that pool players are doing that already. It should be a fun year in the world of billiards. Everyone will survive the year nicely.
The first team battle is still going to be the Atlanta Scorpions vs the New York Pride. That will be a great match! We had many close matches in our training sessions. It was very entertaining to the very end of the majority of the matches. It will only get better as these players adjust to the strategies that Bonus Ball and the three pockets throws at them. I'm excited as hell to get this started!

I dont think the rescheduling is the question people always have and always will go to the dcc i dont think personally your rescheduled it so the players could go from the posts i have read in the past. but to answer the question is yes i will be going to the dcc and i am sure plenty others as usual will be there too..
