The Action Report is proud to announce our latest production. TAR 38: Darren Appleton vs Dennis Orcollo. TAR 38 will take place at the TAR Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 17th thru 19th. The match format will be an all around consisting of One Pocket, Eight Ball and Ten Ball.

TAR 38 will be available to watch via Live trimming PayPerView on theactionreport.com. The match schedule is as follows:

Start time for each day is 5PM Pacific/8PM Eastern
Day 1: One Pocket Race to 7
Day 2: 8 Ball race to 30
Day 3: 10 Ball Race to 30

Commentators for TAR 38 will be Jay Helfert and Robert "Cotton" Leblanc. TAR 38 is sponsored by CueSports International and Lomax Custom Cues. Please visit theactionreport.com for information on how to purchase TAR 38 or to contact TAR for any information.

Fantastic match up. I am very excited for this one, but what happened to SVB and Appleton all around in January?

Looking forward to this one. It will be nice to see a match between two powerhouses where the break is less likely to be such a deciding factor and balanced between the two players.

All the power to SVB for developing the ultimate weapon in the sport but it has made his most recent TAR matches almost a forgone conclusion before they even started.

Also TAR love the 8-ball, cannot wait to see these two do battle in that particular game. As much of a 8-ball champion that Darren is I gotta like Dennis there, when he played SVB on the tight TAR rails in 8-ball he never played safe and never missed a ball, he ran out EVERY TIME he stepped up to the table and the break was the only thing that ever caused him to sit, for the whole match, and he lost...
 
Dennis is still the better breaker. Can't wait to see Darren get torched! :D

Just found out I have qualifiers that weekend. But will check out 8 ball, maybe I can get the bar to project it on the wall off a laptop or something.
 
... When is the next podcast!.. This is s wonderful match... nice way to kick off the DCC... Thank you TAR..

the "bad" thing for the home front will be explaining why from the 14th until the 19th I am watching pool.. need to upgrade the Christmas present to get over on this one...!

This one should be good. That's why I offered to come over and get in the box with Bobby. Love working with that guy! Much better than I liked gambling with him ;). I'm a two time loser (once in my own pool hall) to a certain Cotton!

No savers here! These guys will be out for blood and best of all both are good sportsmen. Should be a very competitive three days between two of the best on the planet. Love working with Justin and TAR as well. He's a straight shooter and a good guy to boot. Justin takes pride in every match he produces, doing his best to bring you high quality match-ups. This promises to be another one.

How do I handicap this match? I have to pick Darren in the Eight Ball but I know Dennis is not that much an underdog. I like Dennis in the Ten Ball, but same thing here, Dennis is only a very slight dog. In the One Pocket Darren actually has more experience, but Dennis has learned the game so fast, almost Efren like. Dennis' game continues to improve. Give Dennis another year or two and he may be the best One Pocket player alive. But not quite yet.

This is a match I call Pick 'Em! :wink:

When you do the introductions could you please include the cue, shaft, tip, and chalk that the players use? Would be nice if that was a part of every introduction. I can't be the only one curious about that stuff and I'm sure the sponsors would appreciate it too.

That handicapping sounds @ right to me. We know Darren is in stroke, but not sure what Dennis has been up to the last few weeks. Anyone know?

This match could be one for the ages - and I seriously mean one for the history books. Give me 1 other (other than Efren @ 12 years ago) that would be favorites over either Daz or Dennis in this matchup!
