An Open Discussion about an improper Banning

Put me on that short list.
I like what SJD and ONB bring to this forum.
...and about 70% of what CJ brings also.

If all three stopped posting, AZ would be a much poorer place.

Do you like how he doggedly tore down Freddy Bentivegna every chance he got? He came on onepocket.org and I was interested in his input because he did have a rep of a top player, albeit from the 60's. Then he proceeded to try to discredit everything Freddy ever did and said. After Freddy had been one of his supporters that helped him get in the HOF. He comes over here and starts the same thing with CJ. There's a pattern, he can't stand for anyone to get any acknowledgement in the pool world unless it is him. He used to say Freddy knew he was joking, but I know for a fact that was not the case. Even Steve Booth limited him to Member's Only.

I had a friend before he passed that reminds me so much of SJD that I can't help but read SJDs post. My friend was about 6ft 7" and the biggest smart a.. I've ever met. If you acted like a know it all then he would simply call you knowy.... As in know it all. He would ask for you by that name and address you by that name until you said uncle. His way of addressing people paralleled SJD. Wonder if SJD knew a big man named Darryl Johnson from Kentucky . They'd be about the same age. I was going to ask SJD if he knew him from his youth. Looks like I'll have to wait a little while

Getting Pool Back on a Major Network Again - Same Time, Same Day

Yes, that's first time I every heard of "SJD" - he was a great one-pocket player, no doubt. I really wish he would share some inside knowledge, but he never has and probably never will.

Unfortunately I didn't stay long at the "One Pocket.org" site because of the constant slandering of Freddie Bentivegna......I had always looked up to Freddie and it made me queezy to see how he was being treated. RIP Mr Freddie Bentivegna, I'm sure you're "banking" in Heaven right now.

Then he came to AZ after Freddy passed away and took dead aim on me. I have news for him, I'm not Freddie and don't appreciate being treated like him. My only goal is to talk about pool and share as many stories, articles, and video clips as we can before we get pool back on ESPN (or a major network) again..

All the more reason to stay. After all, isn't that what a Friend would do. Anyone that would desert me and leave my butt in the wind wouldn't be considered a Friend.

CJ, you share video clips?

Your posts towards CJ have become stalking.

You are on one.

Oh, now a joke is stalking. I suppose it's not stalking when he does it to me. (had the wrong link, will show the correct one)

On second thought, what's the point. You already know he does it to me, and don't care. Just like the other thread getting yanked.

You also know that I am not stalking him. You just don't like hearing the truth. When Mike tried to call me on it, I spelled it out for him and you and you yanked the entire thread so no one else could see it. Now you accuse me of stalking which you know is not true. Why don't you two just come out and admit that whatever he says is fine, and no one is allowed to challenge his statements. You already had a lot of people complaining about just that. Guess you don't care how many you lose on here.

edit:
Unlike others on here when they are wrong, I will apologize. It wasn't removed, it was moved for whatever reason to the aiming forum. But, that is all I apologize for. You know as well as I do that I do not stalk him or anyone else. Try reading posts instead of just listening to what others keep reporting to you.

I'm not sure if the mods yank threads or just quietly move them to the Aiming Conversation forum in the hope that they will just quietly die.

Thanks for the directions.

I don't understand what logical association can be made between racking & aiming, except that they both involve pool balls.

The " deleted " threads are simply made invisible to the public. Not gone forever.
Sometimes moved to another category if appropriate.

For the purposes of the members they are identical. Threads shouldn't be removed, deleted, hidden, made invisible, stashed away, or beamed to mars. They should remain publicly viewable. Ban the people that need it and you will never have a need to "hide" a thread to begin with. Close the thread if you feel it is too emotionally charged and just too many people can't control themselves and one hundred people would have to be banned, but leave it viewable after closing it. Too much good stuff is lost to these "hidden" threads, and people never can tell why they were halted if the record isn't left intact.

maybe there can be a deleted/locked threads forum where these can be viewed but not posted to any more.

thread boneyard.

and if anyone has already suggested this, please forgive me but the meat cleaver in my forehead makes it hard to see sometimes.

best,
brian kc

Really so a thread about racking was just moved to the aiming conversation forum.
Just read the word aiming was mentioned once in 9 pages, makes perfect sense.

That must be appropriate, correct ?

I think the aiming forum is sometimes the mod's catch all for for threads full of idiots and arguments. I don't agree with it, and could be totally wrong, but I think that is essentially what is taking place in some cases like the one you mention. I think the thought process is that it fits in in the respect that they are sending the thread full of arguments to the place where just about every thread is an argument but I'm totally guessing. Argument purgatory so to speak.
