CJ Wiley uses that term, likely a part of his TOI system
It's really not part of 'The Touch of Inside' System although it does compliment it because of the accuracy required in "tip targeting".

used to describe when someone was accelerating the edge of their tip precisely at impact.

PS..Thats why they have such frequent giveaways !
Ahh, I see. You must mean, TOFT. Touch of Follow Through.
Or, you could make is easy and just explain to the members exactly what Pinning is.
Instead of being Vague and making others guess as to what you are speaking about.
Now previously, you stated that you actually try and help members of AZ.
Ok, explain exactly what Pinning is.
Why and when you would use it. To what advantage it would be for a Player to use it.
How it works, and how do you execute the shot using Pinning.
Ya know, that sort of stuff that would make it so much easier for us Dummies to Grasp.
Like, either shit or get off the pot. Explain it, (if you can), or quit talking about it as your, I Know Something You Don't Know, game does get old fairly quickly.
Most of us have been playing for a good part of our lives. If by now, we haven't known about or used Pinning, it is very doubtful that it is or has been detrimental in the way we have been playing.
Tip Targeting. Now here is another New One. Yer just making this Shite up as you go along, aren't you.
Surely you can do better than this, Captain Mosconi.
Yeah Dick, I have seen the Give Aways. Click here for a Free Video. The Free Video was the original DVD sales pitch. Well, it was Free.
Since i am the OP he has explained it to my satisfaction. If you would stop trolling and brown nosing SJD ass you would know that.
Thanks CJ
It's not a "stroking technique," it's a description and training for how the wrist releases. It doesn't matter if you currently use a "Pendulum" or "Piston" style, it can be used effectively for both. It's much like the release into the golf ball, it doesn't matter what kind of swing you have, it's important that the wrists release in a way that creates the most precision and accuracy.....it's the same in pool. 'the GAME is the teacher'
You sir, are quite unique !...You are one of the very few, who can possibly make any sense of his endless ramblings about Yoga, martial arts, zen, morality, and whatever else he claims to be an expert at !..Even his attempts at anything pool related, are so 'off the wall'. he cannot adequately explain them to anyone !
He may have beaten a few good player's, but any one of them can give him the five out, when it comes to puting "how to play pool", into words that ANYONE can understand !..I admire his persistence, and I have no problem with his trying to make a buck off people like you !.. But it looks like he would eventually realize he is NOT, or never will be, a "pool instructor" !
PS.In fact, in an honest poll..'Cocabola Cowboy' may edge him out, at teaching anyone how to play pool !![]()

Using you're analogy, you're saying the release in golf is not part of the swing?
Why not just talk openly about things without all the bluster? You've had plenty of opportunities.I will debate ANYONE in the world about pool techniques, systems, mental game, or any other topic that AZBILLIARDS wants us to discuss.
This does mean ANYONE, and if they win, I'll stop posting on AZBILLIARDS forever!!!
That's right, if ANYONE can win a fair, professionally formatted debate on AZBILLIARDS with them asking us questions and allowing 1-3 minutes for our responses and input on the topic.
Where I come from men (and women) are willing to discuss things without all the barking and defensiveness.Where I come from in Texas, men gamble when they have a disagreement - any takers?
I'll accept that challenge!!!

The release is part of the swing, it just doesn't matter what type of swing you use.
Only the better golfers release the club properly, and this is what generates their additional distance, accuracy and consistency.
The pool stroke is the same concept, the release is very important, and yes, it's certainly part of the stroke. My point clearly states that it doesn't matter how you describe your stoking style, the release is critical to play the game at your best time and time again.
The HAMMER RELEASE is nothing new, it's been used to teach many younger players, including myself, Rafael Martinez and even Earl Strickland hammered a lot as a youngster. 'The Hammer was our Teacher'![]()
I think that folks on both sides of the question do have to admit that CJ's hammer photo in his #109 post really does look like a whole mess o' pinning going on:

The odds of finding anyone willing to preside over such a debate, would be next to impossible !..You have given new names, and new meanings, to every possible facet of the game !..In the few years I've been following (or trying to follow) your offerings, I have seen you contradict yourself dozens of times.. This has been called to your attention many times, but you just keep adding to your Wiley-isms, by coming up with a 'new' name, for whatever it is your talking about !
I have been heavily involved in pool, for 15-20 yrs. longer, than you've been alive !..I have befriended, and talked to dozens of top players, and pool lover's over those years..But, I have NEVER had a conversation, with anyone, remotely like the 10,000 + posts you have tried to "hammer" home, to your fans. And please don't lecture me, on what a big Texas 'gambler you are..You could have gambled real high with me, (like Cooney did) when I was on my last legs ! You chose not to, so don't try to win my money with a silly, undoable bet !

Apples and oranges ,,, the golf swing and the pool stroke have almost zero in common and both have nothing in common with swinging a hammer which is a entirely differant motion ,, unless your smacking the cue on the table or throwing a golf club ,, that's it

I thought so, talk is cheap, but once the money is put up SJD runs for the hills.
So no one in the world will accept my challenge because WHY? I use different terminology? You really want to take that position?
No, it's because you make things up and change definitions of common words when you find that they're not correct in your attempted usage. Like arguing with a child - there's no reasoning with them and they don't know any better.
