Az Get Together

Let's get back on topic

Where we gonna do it?

If you think Colorado ain't central, check out a map. Plus, DIA is maybe the third busiest airport in the country, and thus enjoys the lowest fares. I live within a few miles of Paradise Billiards (now Hank's), a room that could probably host some preliminary matches. The quarters and semis could move to my joint.

Let's make this happen, folks. I've got a home table with a fully stocked bar, with a happy hour that goes 24/7. During happy hour, all pool is free.

Of course, I'll have to clear this with the general manager, but she's pretty friendly about my eccentricities. Usually, anyway.

You ever been to the 'Dam.... ?

Much cooler cities to hit in Europe.... even ones where you can smoke a lil goosh...

Buy hey whatever.. I will volunter tour guide services... (for a nominal fee)
I have been to the Dam. Loved it.
Also loved Berlin...Rome too. The goosh, which I am not 100% sure what is...is not such a great concern, my pee is clean! I just love being in the old cities, so different from the USA (where we tear down perfectly good buildings to put up new ones)

OT- Atlanta sounds like a great location.

(P.S. I love AZB)

I say everyone who is interested should vote for a first, second and third choice of locations. We can go from there to the planning stages.

I vote for,
1. Tulsa
2. Minneapolis
3. Atlanta

i am for it !!! i would LOVE to meet some azers :D :) . matter of fact i was thinkg of looking some up myself but a group meeting would be lovely . i have alot of buds here and would love to hang out

Good idea. My preferences:

Tulsa
Kansas (Wichita?)
Texas (Dallas?)

(Colorado MIGHT be a possibility for us.)

My Vote

1) Vegas (convenient, optional entertainment.. especially for the spouse who hates all things pool)
2) Oklahoma (looks central on a map)
3) Atlanta (Good ol' deep fried southern food)

Option 4) Hawaii (cuz well, it's Hawaii!!)

Yearly event- mobile

You did say "annual" event?
2008- AZ
2009- GA
2010- CO
2011- etc.
Move it around every year maybe everyone would eventually be happy. I'd start in in AZ only because that's where Mike started AZBilliards.

Once you've made a selection, get your local connections from the people who live there. Any main "HUB" will do for travel. Dang gas $3.69 gal it may be cheaper to FLY.... I've lived all over the US. *See above... I've forgot where I live. I have many low-life connections. LOL

*Do we have a leader? Who's leading this groupie effort anyhow... gotta go back and re-read the post again... dams dementia... (Jay...sorry dude)..

I think moving the show every year is a good idea, too. Never know what kind of great organizers can be found and what kind of terrific ideas they can come up with.

But, for this year, we still need more input on everyone's fav 3 locations.

Hope that stirred things up enough to get some more feedback on this. :D

I thought the original idea of having this in Colorado was a great idea ;) (I live in Fort Collins). But I'm in for wherever the final destination would be within reason and if I can get away from work, at least for the one-pocket.

If you have it in Detroit I can visit family and my wife can too, but that might be a deterrent for me . I also have a brother in the Dallas area and friends in Chicago. Although I'm guessing room rates in Chitown & Dallas would get pretty high. Any rooms in Omaha, NE to play in? That would be another possibility for me.

Depending on the timing, I would try to attend anywhere, assuming 9 or 10ball were going to be an event.

However, I would have to vote for Dallas or Tulsa as being the most convenient.

If it is only one-pocket and 14-1, I would try to attend, but would not be quite as motivated.

Location ...

A.) Atlanta
B.) Kansas - Ray Town ... Shooters
C.) Jacksonville

I am in for it. Tulsa can work, great room. Alternative:

Kansas City:

Shooters/Olathe is Kansas City located
Great room prices very close by
Superb pool room
Great shopping for travel partners
Centrally located geographically
Half dozen Casinos
We can bring in TAR (maybe)
JAM: You said you wanted to see the Shooters pool room sometime!

I'm in. I like that Don Brink's Raytown Rec Center, too, in Kansas City. :)

Annual tournament in changing locations? First year west, then midwest, east, south, montana, Tx, Chicago, etc? Those who are free to travel get to come every year and others get to come once in a while.
