Can we get the Forsale section separated?

This has been brought up numerous time's and is a good idea. Another point that has been suggested is adding a trade section. It's just like the action room and having to scan through a ton of sports bet's. It would save a lot of time and would eleminate a lot of unwanted pm's. Would'nt it be nice to go straight to a certain category of what you are looking for.....

- Wanted
- For Sale
- Trade
- Case's
- Accessories
- Other (video's, training aid's, apperal....etc)

Sub-forums in the For Sale area is a good idea but there needs to be enough categories to include everything. Besides cues/cases/accessories, there should be sub-forums for tables and especially one for instruction: instructional materials and lessons. Instruction needs it's own sub-forum.

Once you start creating sub-forums, having plenty of them to ensure everyone has a category to put their stuff under is win-win. It will keep the seller's stuff on page 1 longer and it would make it way easier for a buyer to navigate to whatever it is they are looking to buy.

I dont agree, if you have same thread displayed whole day on first page would remove all excitment of the forum. it will become too boring and If someone wants their ad to be displayed whole day on first page than they should make their own website. I love the this section as it is and dont mind to bump my thread a couple of times a day,may be 3 times. There are hundreds of members want to sell all of them cannot stay on first page forever.

It is fine as it is. Just my thoughts

This is a good idea and it's overdue. There are too many items listed together plus people bumping threads after an item is sold. James

I am a newbie... I get it. I see both sides. I agree with Monto though. It sucks when you are trying to sell a killer cue and it's 5 pages deep. But at the same time looking in one section brings interest to great deals on other stuff that you might not see. I think it would make it convenient for sellers but buyers might get lost in sub-categories and might not see something completely different they didn't realize they had an interest in.
Like I said, I'm a newbie. I haven't been around long. Just my thoughts.

idea

hkpro.com makes you put
"wts" want to sell
"wtb" want to buy
"wtt" want to trade
in the begining of the subject line
if everybody did this it would make searching easier
you could seach wts if your interest in buying etc...
or you could just browse.

While I understand what you are saying, as a buyer in the market for a cue, the benefit of having a separate forum with nothing but lumber in it outweighs the advantage of tripping over a deal on a DVD set I wasn't looking for. Same thing goes for if I'm looking for a table etc. In addition to that, the one for sale forum as well as the new threads button gets cluttered with bumped threads the way it is now.

SUB SECTIONS ARE NEEDED BADLY. A GREAT CUE GETS LISTED, AND WITHIN 10 MINUTES IT'S ON PAGE 3 BECAUSE THERE ARE 20 GUYS TRYING TO SELL THE SAME PRODUCTION CASE, OR TIP TAPPER, OR QUARTER HOLDER.

IT'S GETTING WORSE BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SELL WHATEVER THEY CAN TO GET SOME SPARE CASH, AND ARE LISTING SOME REALLY LOW END STUFF.

FOR SECTIONS:

CUSTOM CUES AND CASES
PRODUCTION CUES AND CASES
ACCESSORIES (WOULD INCLUDE INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL)
TABLES AND TABLE PARTS

Only thing Marcus, is the instructional stuff needs it's own section. There are too many guys selling either books, DVD's, training aids, or lessons to lump them in with chalk, tip-tappers, and moose head bridges. On top of that, they would no longer have any excuse to keep posting their sales pitches in the main forum.

Agreed

I don't sell a lot here, but when I do it is always a custom cue. I like the idea of having sections such as Marcus outlines. General dealer ads may need their own section as well. Custom Cue for sale section should feature a single cue with complete specs and price.

^ THIS

But....It would require a moderator to be vigilant and move all of the production cue posted incorrectly, that some actually believe are "custom".

Some things to keep in mind if we seperate items into sub-forums:

1. Sometimes people sell a cue & case as a package deal, so it will never be as clean as we would like

2. People often post large lots of cues with both production and custom cues...same problem

3. Who decides if a cue is custom or a production cue? I know 90% of the time it is pretty straight forward but my guess is that people will disagree at times on some makers that blur the line.

None of these are biggies of course, just adding my two cents

I have thought of an idea which some might like and some may not but perhaps having sections like we all have mentioned but also being able to search by pricing too. I know it would take AZB some time and perhaps money to do this, perhaps to post in the classifieds with unlimited postings you would need to be a club member or something. Could generate some revenue for AZB which would be nice instead of people just coming on here and posting links to Ebay and other BS.

I totally agree with the sub-sections. There should also be three more
labeled - Keyra, Megan, and Jesse.

Cues/Cases/Accessories?

You put up a cue and in three hours its on page 5...

Just a suggestion....

JV

I agree this would help a lot. If the mods would put a stop to all the threads with nothing for sale in them it would help too. Every day you see help me ID this cue and what is this cue worth.

How about if we separate it like this:

1) Dealers and Cue makers list in one section. They can limit or eliminate all bumping if that's what they want.

2) Pool players who like to sell or trade occasionally on the other section. Pool players like to try different cues from time to time. Or, maybe they don't need the instructional book any more. They have watched the DVD of a great match several time and want to sell it to another pool player or even trade it.

I don't seem to have any trouble finding the things I'm interest in whether its on the first page or not.

Sub-Forum ?

I agree that the Wanted/For Sale section should be broken down (somewaht, but not too much), BUT the big problem, (IMHO) is having someone put a thread in the wrong section, ie., something for sale in the Main category. I know some threads border more than one section, ie., ID of a cue, but any improvement to this section would be helpful.

I agree on the seperate sections within the for sale section.

Additionally I think there should be a way to remove a thread once the item is sold and no longer for sale. This would help remove some of the clutter within the sections.
