Being a loyal AZ poster should have nothing to do with it, he deserves better than that without posting on AZ.
Chris is a great player, willing to get into the box with anyone if he feels the game is reasonable, and from the little I have been around him seems to handle himself with class.
When matching up great players, anyone can win or lose on any given day, and they both fit that catagory IMHO.

Chris did not play his best. Showed good class and accepted his lumps. Busty played great and it just seemed to me that Chris was getting the tougher layouts. When you struggle nothing goes right. I think the spot was fair and on another day the result might be different.
Chris gets a 10 for heart, character and class. The nits who like playing with the nuts for $10 can be ignored as always.

We have all been in that boat at least I have. I don't always play my best when I play a stronger opponent. In fact I rarely play as good as I do when I am relaxed. Busta was relaxed and it showed. CB will come out of this match poorer but those are the experiences that keep him moving up the food chain. Personally I can't wait to see him play again.
I watched the steam last night and I thought Chris really played well . This was the first time I've seen Chris play and playing against Bustamante is a hard task .

Chis is one of my favorite posters on AZ and one of my favorite players to watch in action. The man is a class act at all times. He tells it like it is. No ones business but his who he plays. His or his backers money is on the line so he/they must have thought it was a fair game. Like someone else said, two great players match up and one plays great and the other can only play up to 75% of his game that night for whatever reason. The bad luck and bad rolls seem to follow that also. He'll be back in action soon and pump back up for another battle. No one matches up right all the time and nobody wins all the time...nobody. Didn't see the match & haven't seen the negative posts you refer to, but I agree it is way out of line to offer any bad press to Chris Bartrum. The guy is all heart. If he ran into a buzz saw with Bustamante - so be it. Not the first time that story has been told about Django.
I must have missed that but I'll go searching for it after I post this...
Chris has by far the most posts of any pro on these forums. Even when he's wrong
D) about how he ranks players of today vs the past legends, it's easy to like him. He's definitely a better player than he is pool historian, that's just fact! I never met him but feel like I know him somewhat. He's funny, has heart and nobody should be getting on him if he lost a set of pool. He's our friend and it's good that he can read positive threads like this one to offset something that may seem negative somewhere else.
he lost to a world champion. why would anyone think less of him because of that?

I thought he played very well. A lot of people have lost to Django and should not be disrespected for that.
