Deleting threads

Let's not kid ourselves that those kinds of threads have any historical value. They're for real-time discussion when they're on the first page, and then they disappear, as they should. I'm sure some of the threads about how to clean your cue or how to make a kick shot get found via searches for several years. But this was just rehashing a topic that had been rehashed over and over, and degenerated into cleary following CJ Wiley around and harassing him and mocking his posts. Posterity will be just fine without it.

He ruined that thread as he has ruined this forum.

I wouldn't exactly say that CJ has ruined this Forum.

If he does have more detractors now than before, that is his own doing due to multiple
cheesy TOI Sales Threads fudging up the main for longer than they should have been allowed.

I am far from being opposed to Industry folk selling their wares or DVDs in the Main, but they tend to limit their Threads to only one at a time. I believe that many of those threads are an asset to the Forums.

IMO, CJ reached his limit in no time flat and wouldn't take subtle hints from other members.

So, if he has left himself less than credible in certain areas, or people are just plain tired of looking at his posts these days, that was 100% his own doing.

He pushed the envelope and found out where the end mark was.

Pretty simple really.

I know that it isn't necessary but I love to type and make short stories Long anyway.

My favorite CJ thread was this.

Free Video. I was thinking, oh boy, now here is a bit of free instructional pool by CJ, the same as what John Brumback and Lee Brett had done before in selling their DVDs.

I anxiously clicked on the provided Link and what was it. Yep, a Free Video of CJ Selling his TOI dvd.

Now to myself, that was the Ultimate Cheese and CJ lost me on that one. Admittedly, I did end up buying one and quickly found out that the guys at the pool hall had been teaching that one for some time. They just didn't have a name for it. I watched half of it, pulled it out of the PC and Air Mailed it onto the couch somewhere. To this day, I have no idea where it is. Prolly under a cushion.

However, I did keep the CD Jewel case as they come in handy on occasion.

In my opinion, CJ is doing a lot more damage to this forum than good.

I can ignore his DVD sales pitches.
I think his smart answers are way counter productive.
A little humor goes a long ways - he keeps clogging up the threads with crazy crap.

This forum is supposed to encourage intelligent discussions. Hard to do with posters that just won't stay on point.

I've always felt everyone has the right to express their opinions and feelings - but to intentionally derail serious thread are the acts of a juvenile mind.

I for one, am highly disappointed in CJ. He could be an asset to the community- instead he acts like a 5th grader. I can't tell you why - but he is beginning to remind me of Fast Larry.

You two fellers don't have a monopoly on "real talk". I wrote this six days ago. I didn't see either one of you then.
Old Nine Baller said:
C.J. is about nothing except C.J., that much is obvious to all. He talks in another thread about the "groupies" at the L.A. tournaments, I think he could use one now. He seriously needs to get laid.

C.J. is nothing on this forum except a troll.

Six days ago? What took you so long? I said it two years ago. Dealt with two bannings saying the obvious. Writing was on the wall right away, only a few of us bothered to read it I guess. But, nothing is going to change with him, he's an "untouchable" on here.

Would be a feather in the cap of the site to have pros post here regularly. They only have one, and don't care what he says, he has free reign on here. They are blind to what is happening to the forums. Threads that put him in a bad light, no matter how truthful, will be deleted.

Jeez Neil, gimmee a little break. I wasn't here two years ago:).

CJ knows something that Freddy Bentivegna never learned; All publicity is good publicity. CJ keeps his name and his ads on the front page no matter what it takes. He doesn't curse, call names or be overly rude but it would be much nicer if he did.

He's rude constantly hijacking threads and turning them into "who I beat" and "two-foul is great" and "my road stories with Strong Arm Omaha Pittsburgh John".

My satirical aiming system thread got removed in short order a couple years back.

It was my Cue Low & Outside or Wherever's Needed System (CLOWN for short). I had so few orders coming in I could barely not keep up. Then my thread disappeared. I wonder why? I probably deserved that one.

Maybe you just used the wrong approach:D. Did you think of this?

Colonel. Funny ain't it, when people don't realize that they have been the Masters of Their own Destiny, yet, continue to blame others.

When certain people reach that level of narcissism, there is no hope.

Glen is just another that members don't miss when they are not posting.

Why don't you take a poll to prove that, it might just shock you as to how little you really know. There are a few people like you that if gone, would make a better AZB for everyone else as people like you....really have nothing to contribute but babble.

Hit a sore spot did I Glen. I don't need to start a Poll to prove a point that you have already proven yourself, many times.

If you're so much into yourself, as you are, why don't you start a Poll and read the results.

Don't give people a reason to start Threads in your Honor and then you won't have to endure other members opinions on your actions.

Other than that Glen, don't puff yourself up, cause seriously, your opinions mean very little to me.

And exactly what do you contribute in the long run. A bunch of opinionated Look At Me and How great I am Pictures.

So yer a pool table mechanic. Good for you Glen. I'm happy.

You sound jealous, get over yourself, you opinion has never mattered to me, and never will. At least I bring something to AZB, what do you have to offer AZB members? It sure isn't posts of wisdom, that's for sure!

In the long run you ask? I have 100 ' s of AZB members waiting on me to show up on their door step, how many do you think are waiting on YOU to show up?

My first post was to point out that AZB has made what appears to be a change in an effort to cut down some of the troll posting in threads. It would appear that it's just simpler to remove an entire thread than it is to bann the members that are causing the problems in the thread. It's a simple solution when you think about it. It's like putting a fire out with a fire hose and it's done, instead of trying to put it out with one cup of water at a time! Do that enough time and the message starts to become clear, if the thread can't be kept civil, and on track....it's going to be removed, so beware trolls!!
