The ring game was great, playing in it was fun to say the least. I wasnt nervious, no stage fright etc, wasnt shaking, butterflys in the stomach, etc. I havent played in that enviornment ever and anything could have happened. I was confident, and felt 100% at home up there. Thats the real reason I played-I didnt say anything before about it but I needed to, it was to test myself in that venue for personal reasons-stemming from something long ago, I scored a 9/10. I wasnt intimated by any of the other players-20 years ago I would have been ratteled by that BAD.

For what ever reason pool is comming together for me later in life(i have awalys been a late starter in life) but thats cool, hopefully I will keep my eyes good, there is a haze in my left eye still but has zero effect on pool.

I didnt really have any shots the whole game, but thats ring games, so I never was in line to run a rack so the test of my nerves wasnt perfect but I know its not an issue.

I had 2 shots, first was a backwards cut on the 6 which was hard, I had to let the rock lose to make it, I saw a kiss/scratch possibility, I was scared to bank it and chose the cut, I scratched. But I that was cool because I did see the scratch it wasnt that obvious so I was happy I read it right. My other shot was a very low % shot for me anyways and I just missed it-it was the kind of shot that seperates the men from the boys. Other than those 2 shots I never had a shot. I know that if I would have been in line I could run out with everyone watching, I saw Efren for a few seconds, I think he left I wanted him to watch me hit some balls, I think he did before the game started(I want to play him and hopefully will this week)

It was 90 degress there the rails and slate were very warm, I felt like I was in a tanning bed. I like heat so I was fine, Had 2 bottles of water and a Mountain Dew. I sat next to SVB and we talked, I know him so that was cool-real cool.

I appericate all the support from everyone here from the bottom of my heart and that aint bullshit, its the God's honest truth. I did my best(wanted to win a game but just didnt have a chance), held up great, and will be back next year, I talked to Grady and I'm in.

oh yeah my back, i stayed in bed all day yesterday and was out for a few hours at night and stayed in bed all day so it would be good, its been bad recently, it wasnt an issue, by the time it was over I was hurting bad, but it 100% didnt affect my game,

no one asked for a autograph......LOL

thanks again to all

I can't rep you 'cause I gotta spread it around first. All I have to say is you're the man for stepping up to the best players in the world and taking a swing.

You have a lot to be proud of-

thanks, the scarest part of tonight was when I asked him if I could play again next year to play in the ring game Grady said he really wants me 2 B there next year, his exact words were "I would be honored to have you again' he likes me and has confidence me, I was scared to ask him about next year, i didnt want to seem like a banger and compaired to those guys i'm am a banger so when i asked him about comming back he loved it, and he told me befor he never watched ne a hit ball. he has had talent of all levels to make it intersting. net year i;ll feed off that vibe and If I get shot i will do alot better

Ring games are brutal. Tough to fade not getting a shot and with that many champions in the mix it's really tough. You get pat's on the back for being out there doing it.

Eric

Good to hear that you gave it your all and that you maintained your composure with the match.
I am sure you had a blast and hopefully you will be able to have more chances to play in the future (if your back cooperates).

Enjoy the rest of your time at the DCC.
Myron

Glad you gave it a go Fatboy. Those of us logged into TAR last night were pestering em pretty good for updates on your game....even though someone had to actually to leave the feed to go find out how it was going.

Two shots is pretty rough though...it would have been sweet to get at least one "real" look and bang a few I'd imagine....but like you say, there is always next year.Well done!

Sounds like you had some fun in fast company. The story implies you had a time of popr performance at some time and felt a need to prove to yourself you could do it.Anyone who hasn't had that feeling is either decieving themself or us.
I talked to a former champion Ed Kelly about this ,and he gave me several instances of this, and its not just playing for money or lots of it.

I have played a lot of great players with big spots and when they realize the game might be too tough they break down. The same thing has happened to me when I realize I am overmatched. The only player I ever saw that never broke down was a young Saint Louie Louie.

Keep firing away.

Kudos to you for getting in with all those hammers. That was a tuff lineup!

I had a bit of a similar experience...in 2005 AZB took up a collection to send a Member to the US Open. I was fortunate to be the one selected and (dammit) I went 2& out. Played a couple of hammers myself, 11-7 one set, 11-10 the other. I tried my best, but it still was still supremely disappointing to be the nail.

I think you had the tougher proposition, like I said, kudos to ya!

Eric,

You may have lost the Ring Game but you sure won the public opinion battle - those Action Report commentators were talking about Fatboy and the guts you had to put your money up instead of just talking about it like the rest of us. You razzled them and dazzled them - and didn't even need a cuestick to do it.

Sometimes we just have to test ourselves. Here's to you, Eric, for showing us how it's done.

Chris

Here to you Fatboy...

My life is richer when I meet those of the 2nd variety.

Take a deep bow for having the courage and conviction to compete at this level.

YES, THE COLLECTION GURU MET SOME AZER'S AND WAS SHOCKED; FATBOY AIN'T FAT; HE IS A FRAUD!!!!!!!!!! I AM FAT; ERIC IS MATURING.
HE HAD NO SHOTS AS HE MENTIONED AND IS A GREAT GUY I CONCLUDED. I WAS INTRODUCED TO MATURE MAN BY JAY WHO WAS ALSO A CLASS ACT WHICH DID NOT SURPRISE ME. MET 9 BALL, ZOEL AND JIM FROM VEGAS WHO I HAD MET BEFORE. I HOPE I WAS PLEASANT ENOUGH TO THE GENTS I MET THAT THEY MIGHT ACCEPT MY CAP CRAZE. THIS IS AN AWESOME TOURNAMENT; WORTH SAVING UP TIME OFF IF THAT IS NECESSARY TO ATTEND THE WHOLE THING.
