Earl "the pearl" Strong in first round

Ok who did he play ?? Hmm

He played Michael Yednak from NYC. I believe he is an A speed player so not really on Earl's level. Nothing at all against Yednak, but lets see how Earl handles a world speed player before we get too excited. Im guessing melt down sooner than later.

they figured the Miz was done once too, despite some of his problems and antics, EARL CAN BEAT THE WHOLE WORLD!

If people say effren can still do what he does, then so can earl...remember people also thought Matlock was washed up about 5yrs ago and he missed the all around at the derby by a point, to none other than effren. It's gonna be over when earl says its over.

I'd love to see earl pull it out again, but wouldnt bet on it. Hopefully him, SVB or Rodney Morris win. Def want an American to win this year.

I think Earl is one of those types that if he's right, it doesn't matter who he's playing...he's got the firepower to shutout just about anybody. If he melts, it'll be b/c he's just cracked, not because he's intimidated or knows he's outclassed.

Earl played very well. He would have been hard to beat. Yeah his opponent was not world class but still a goodplayer. Earl did to him what he was supposed to. I think it was either 11-2 or 11-1. If he wins the whole thing u guys will see me on TV do a Barry hearn on him, like he did to Steve Davis when he won his first Embassy title.

Earl seems somewhat subdued and more focused this week. Maybe we will see a flashback of a once great player. The first tough opponent he has to face will be more telling.

Has anyone ever noticed that Earl Strickland has never won a major title on Diamond tables!

I noticed that also since Diamond became the main table for men's tournaments. His 5th US Open in 2000 was on a black Gold Crown and Earl made the statement that he's won most of his tournaments on Brunswick tables.

I hope that he will win his next match an so will Zion Zvi so they can play each other.... I love Earl (when plays pool and doesn't speak) but GO ZION!!!
