Hello from China!

I went to China a lot over the years. Enough to hang out with the hotel managers since I was a regular guest. They told me once that they had 2 sets of mattresses. One hard, as often requested by Japanese clients, and one soft for the European/American clientele. Just ask the hotel manager, they may have the same setup in your hotel.

This is good advice most of the time (most hotels have both style mattresses). Some hotels have the hard "tatami" like mattresses, which are like sleeping on the floor.

*Edit- Have fun & shoot well, Grumpy Munchkin!

Good luck Sarah. Hit them straight and get some good rolls. You know you can beat anyone with your "A" game. Johnnyt

I just wanted to let everyone know that everyone has arrived in Shenyang, China for the Women's World 9ball Championships. There is a block on many websites (Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Blogger, etc.) here and I know that is a problem for most of us. I know a lot of girls were planning to communicate through those sites. I just wanted to pass the message along that everyone arrived and the draw is at 4pm today (3am est) and play starts tomorrow morning.

I am not sure what website will have brackets. I think there is a way to search for the Asian sports channels on Sopcast. There are going to be two TV tables each round.

Sorry I'm not much help! I will try to post updates when I can. Right now all I can say is that the hotel is very nice and the people are very friendly. The only downfall...really hard beds!

Sarah

To hell with those updates. You bear down on the job at hand. Post later.
Thanks

Hi there Joey,

Your right on the button again.................... great advive...............

We want Sarah to play her best pool and posting will only get in the way of that. She can send us her stories after the tournament. She is just being nice as always but we want to see her play her best pool. THAT TAKES EVERYTHING YOU HAVE.

I and all of AZ Billiards wants to see her focused on playing well. That has to be the all consuming goal.JoeyA

Excellent advice from someone who knows what they are talking about! I am forever grateful that Joey spent so much of his time and attention at one of the few major events he gets to attend each year gathering signatures for Smorg's jacket but it certainly derailed his competitive efforts.

For someone to be successful on the world stage competition has to come first, last, and in the middle when they are at an event. Time for PR and socializing when the competition is done.
