That last swing looked good. I coached h.s. ball for 2 years then have donated my time to some of the local rec teams as well. I'd say his swing at that age looks good. Only thing I seen wrong was the bat looked alittle big for him (camera was far away so hard to tell).

My youngest nephew just finished his last year in tball and was crushing them into the outfield. He shotgunned a pitcher earlier in the year and thank God the ball hit the poor kid in the shoulder, because he never had time to react. If it would have hit him in the head it would have hurt him bad even with the softer ball.

If you ever wanna talk baseball hit me up through PM or something.
I agree, the bat looks too big but its actually alittle shorter then the bat I have him playing with normally. He had a shorter tee ball bat but to me it was too short for him,the bigger bat has him hitting alot of balls and is building up those arms too, trying to build that big swing up. :D

Yea I hope JS kills Sigel and Sigel has a meltdown on the net. Honestly I'd love to see Schmidt play Efren in 14.1

I know that Efren might not or hasnt played it in forever but the man can string racks together and has run well over 100 in a tournament I seen YEARS ago. Two of the best shotmakers and pattern followers out there.

About 8 years ago in NY Efren played in the US 14.1 Championship. Efren not usually playing the game had a high run of 130 something and came in Third. John was in the top 10. Ralf Souquet won it and a Taiwanese came in second. Efren was driving the 14.1 players like Dallas West crazy. He would bank a ball crosside and go 3 rails to smash the rack. To keep his run going he wasnt afrais to bank a ball. Not to mention his safety play was awesome. But he wasnt to keen on the intricate rules. He took a foul and touched the cueball with his ferell and immediately Dallas West jumped up and called a major foul on Efren saying that any part of the cue other than the tip was a major foul. Deducting 14 points and he had to break the rack. They had to get the rule book but Dallas was right. Efren was teed off and proceeded to run out as soon as he got a shot. Efren showed a hell of a straight pool exhibition. When asked about the tournament Efren just said I dont know, I just pocket the ball, and dont stop till I miss!
From the loser side Dallas went on to beat John Schmidt who had a terrible day that day when he had the lead and just couldnt get out.

Thanks for that info. Never heard about that. The video I have I think was his first ever 14.1 tourney and he ran 135 I think. Cant remember if he won the tourney or not. I'll be rooting for JS and I hope they let the public vote to play whoever wins between JS/MS and let Efren play them.

It was the Maine Event. Efren beat CJ Wiley to take top honors. Earl was there too and did well trying to prove that he could play the game. But it was hilarious that the top guys were essentially 9 ball players. Efren was not the super phenom of one pocket then. Try to get the tapes. Very enjoyable. Try to get the tape where Archer runs 150 and out the wrong way. LOL! This was after Nick Varner gave Johnny a couple of lessons.

I have one of Archer and Ortmann I think:confused: Is that it?

Yea it was amazing to see Efren play in that tourney. He was running racks like he had been playing that game his whole life (kinda like he does with any billiard game.....lol)

I think the Archer one he was talking about was the 150 and out against Jeff Carter. Can't remember what tournament that was.

AS for Reyes running racks in the Maine Event, you might recall some of the commentary by Johnny Ervolino and others. They were pulling their hair out trying to figure out what Efren was doing. Using draw on some break shots that JE said you should use follow on. They also said he was getting better and learning more as the tournament progressed.

i think i have my next all around opponent in mind.my sponsor called me and said jon kucharo walked up to the ob booth in vegas and asked what would you pay efren to play with your cues.royce said basically something to the effect of ,we have a player already and we are happy with him.kucharo replies and im not going to put words in his mouth but basically yeah john schmidt is your sponsored player , ha, i can beat him.well players bad mouthing me behind my back is nothing new.the thing is kucharo saw me 4-5 times while i was there in vegas for the bca tourney even coming up to me in the ob booth and saying hi and asking how things have been going.what i cant stand is someone acting nice to me and then as soon as i go 3000 miles away he comes up and basically tells my sponsor i suck and he would beat me gambling.now just to make sure im not being two faced or misunderstood, here goes.now john kucharo is a great player.i say that so people dont think im picking on some bplayer or something like that.im simply saying if jon kucharo wants to play me the next action all around for 20,000 ill play.also ill say that to your face jon the next time i see you and not wait until you are 3000 miles away. now the next 10 replies are probably going to be something to the effect of jon kucharo is so great and has more talent than anybody etc etc.i know he plays great but if anybody likes his end of a all around match with me for 20,000 i am not hard to find.14.1 ,1hole,10ball on 9ft.

Since your at the peak of your game, and Kuch' made a decision years ago to walk away from the game, its a total mismatch. When I see players woof at me now (COCKTAILS??? talkin'), since I the made the choice to walk away from the game it only amuses me, its no different than a player thats gotten much better over the years and with me not playing anymore wanting the same spot I gave em back in the day. It's too bad you didn't let this smoke just blow on by John, I know Bobby Hunter would of never taken this path you have chosen...I think you have more class than Kuch has shown by his actions, let it go...

That was a beautiful summary of that match up. A couple of weeks ago, Williebetmore & I were talking on here about Efren's cross-side bank that kept his run going.

You also brought chuckles with the comment in the other post about "Johnny Archer ran 150 & out the wrong way"....I know what you meant, but it still sounds funny.

BTW, Dallas West is a very gifted commentator. It's a pleasure listening to him anytime he works the booth. But I would pay high $ to listen to him do a "players review" of that match with him & Efren that you alluded to. I can't even imagine how he would try to describe some of the shots that Reyes took!

Revenge shows the bad character you have. Not a good thing. Stop giving me bad rep.
When Johnnyt gave me bad rep this is what he wrote:
"i know you don't care but it makes me feel better"
Johnnyt does not respect other people's opinions. I did a comment and johnnyt does not have the courage to send me a pm a discuss my post, instead he gives bad rep right away. You are out of line my friend. Fortunatelly my green is up there. You must have given some free tips away to have your green so high. I replied to your bad rep as well.

Who really gives a crap? Nobody cares when you get good rep or bad rep. I think the only time anybody ever posts that they receive bad rep is to persuade others to give them good rep. Pretty gay if you ask me.

have my life threatened by one poster & called a fat piece of shit by another poster.

I see your point, but don't you think you are exaggerating a bit? Maybe I missed the life-threatening post, and the other post just said that you "look like you spent some time on the couch as well". I'm just sayin'.

Yeah you can't see the life threatening post because JAM got it all deleted.
And EZ I just translated as others did.....if "get up off the couch" translates that to you are a lazy bum then "look like you spent some time on the couch as well" translates to I am a fat ass. Guess this picture of me makes me look skinnier--JCIN is a magacian with the camera. I just wish Roy would have let me known I was a fat ass in Vegas so I would have stayed away from all those buffets & meals, and worked on my physique. Nah, I still would have been at the buffet at the Wynn, it was top notch.

Luckily, the USA has guys like you that are in shape to defend our country.....while I spend time on the couch. I am seriously grateful for that and hope you have a relaxing Memorial Day.

Are you saying I'm skinny?!?!?!:D:D Maybe you didn't take a close enough look in the Tar Pit! I am 6'1" and weigh in at about 270 lbs. Thanks anyways:D Have a good one too.

I believe he did it against Jeff Carter from Chicago.

I think you would of gotten a different opinion from a 14.1 players point of view about Efren. Mosconi would have screamed and hollered. Efren uses a lot of English, particularly inside. Where as Mosconi would only use just enough. Efren cue ball wouldnt be afraid to let his cue ball go and yet he will finesse a rack chipping here and there and positioning for a bank or combination. All no-no's as far as a straight pool player is concerned.

Great memories

Thanks Terry! Thats why attending these tournaments live is so important. I saw so many things there that Accustats didnt get on tape. Like when Souquet beat Earl and Earl went up to Ralf and said "you wouldnt make all those balls on a tight table", in that twang of his. Or when the Taiwanese second place winner was asked who are you? He said in Chinese that he was no big thing. He was humble and kept saying there are guys better than me in Taiwan and that he was down on the list. Watching Jeanne Balukas cheering for Alison in her match.
It was worth the plane and hotel to New York City for 10 days.

Fair enough. I'll take it back. JAM did not have the thread yanked. I just translated the second quote as you being the only person I read almost gloating that the thread got yanked that it was yanked on your behalf. It is sad that the thread got yanked & people can't read what simple words lead to.....Since you are a fan of Wikipedia (hope I got that right), here is an entry into what can happen when threats are made over the internet. Megan Meier was the niece of a close friend of mine. His family has lots of $$$ and they are fortunate to have it so this story wouldn't die and justice can be served.

BTW, I like your new avatar. My ignorance and I am not really sure what that statue is. I am a huge fan of the Statue of Liberty & was just recently there. I think it had more meaning now after 9/11 than ever. Sad that the Coast Guard with large machine guns has to escort the ferry away from Battery Park for fear of another terroist attack on our country.
