Are you saying I'm skinny?!?!?!:D:D Maybe you didn't take a close enough look in the Tar Pit! I am 6'1" and weigh in at about 270 lbs. Thanks anyways:D Have a good one too.

The A.F. allows you to weigh 270?

john, you're a great guy, but i say this because i like you.... you could handle situations like this better in my opinion. why not call the guy and tell him all this if you're really wanna make this happen, which im sure you do. when he says no, maybe even mention to him you don't appreciate those comments. anyway, no offense intended, i just think you get mad in the heat of the moment and i know you'd be better off using your level head and thinking about these things more.

Again, I never requested to have the thread removed. I never posted in the thread either.

Since you are a fan of Wikipedia (hope I got that right), here is an entry into what can happen when threats are made over the internet. Megan Meier was the niece of a close friend of mine. His family has lots of $$$ and they are fortunate to have it so this story wouldn't die and justice can be served.

I am not sure why you are providing this link to me, but I did not threaten you.

BTW, I like your new avatar. My ignorance and I am not really sure what that statue is. I am a huge fan of the Statue of Liberty & was just recently there. I think it had more meaning now after 9/11 than ever. Sad that the Coast Guard with large machine guns has to escort the ferry away from Battery Park for fear of another terroist attack on our country.

The full name of the bronze statue is the Freedom Triumphant of War and Peace, but today it is fondly called the Statue of Freedom. Today, it sits on top of the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.

The statue is of a female figure wearing flowing draperies, representing freedom. Her right hand rests upon the hilt of a sheathed sword, and her left holds a laurel wreath of victory and the shield of the United States with thirteen stripes. The helmet is encircled by stars and features a crest composed of an eagle's head, feathers, and talons, a reference to the costume of Native Americans, which is why I like it a lot because of my Native American heritage.

The statute sits on top of a cast-iron globe encircled with the national motto "E Pluribus Unum." The bronze statue stands 19 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 15,000 pounds.

i understand what your saying.but i dont post on here to vent or because im mad.im trying to goad a guy with a massive ego into getting staked and putting 10-20 thousand in my pocket.i have alot of bills and basically cant be friends with all the poolplayers.i said what i said about kucharo because its true and if he wants to play me he can get pumped up in a hurry.i know if i called him politely and told him that im mad and want to play.he would say something to the effect of, oh i never said that and i think you play great and are a good guy and all that 2 faced b.s. so instead i figure i will woof and put him on the spot, trust me it works wonders with some of the pro mental midget poolplayers.

Holy crap Eric. You must work out a bit then, because you carry your 270 much better than I carry my 260. :(

Heck, I thought you were at least 280 plus change. :D

Wow, what a read this was.

I don't understand why people are criticizing JS for calling out JK, or for JK calling out JS. I disagree with the 2 face move he pulled, but celeb status has its downsides too. People are gonna say things, and you can either rise to the challenge or back down. Yea, he's messing with Schmidt's livelihood, and John would like to show why he's on the top of the mountain others want to be on. He's a damn fine player. Here on AZB, we call out others livelihoods all the time. What about true scum like Chris Chance or J.Holmes who's livelihood is scamming others. Should we let their livelihood go on?

Let's face it, pro pool players aren't exactly making the millions other pro's make. Everyone's got their expenses & bills to pay. Let the players do the matchmaking and just enjoy the match.

Anyone wanna knock JK should step up. He was practicin' with me last year and put a 6 pack on me. He came to Chicago and gave a BCA master the 5 and the snap and whooped him. You people have no idea.

?????

JK beat a BCA Master with the 5 and snap? Ain't that somethin'? You don't say.

Well, then.... I guess he should go through Schmidty giving him the last two.

What is john k. doing looking for efren a sponsor anyway?? I think efren has enough history that all cuemakers are chomping at the bit to get him to play with their cues...Doesn't seem Efren needs john k but john k. needs efren??... Or am i missing something??

Interesting thread

Just read 9 pages of posts. Most of it has been said at least twice. The only thing I have to add is that the story speaks well of John's sponsor:

Cheers to Royce for holding up his man even when the Magician's name was offered. I bought an OB2 shaft today. I thought the OB stood for outrageous backspin, but given the loyalty Royce shows his player, it could mean Outstanding Backup or Outspoken Benefactor.

or maybe to some, Oldschool Beating.

No one owes me this favor, but please let this die. Jon has had a lot of time to think about what might have been and let his ego get the best of him. Jon doesn't need to be drug thru this again. The post ran its course...a long time ago...let it go.

i think i have my next all around opponent in mind.my sponsor called me and said jon kucharo walked up to the ob booth in vegas and asked what would you pay efren to play with your cues.royce said basically something to the effect of ,we have a player already and we are happy with him.kucharo replies and im not going to put words in his mouth but basically yeah john schmidt is your sponsored player , ha, i can beat him.well players bad mouthing me behind my back is nothing new.the thing is kucharo saw me 4-5 times while i was there in vegas for the bca tourney even coming up to me in the ob booth and saying hi and asking how things have been going.what i cant stand is someone acting nice to me and then as soon as i go 3000 miles away he comes up and basically tells my sponsor i suck and he would beat me gambling.now just to make sure im not being two faced or misunderstood, here goes.now john kucharo is a great player.i say that so people dont think im picking on some bplayer or something like that.im simply saying if jon kucharo wants to play me the next action all around for 20,000 ill play.also ill say that to your face jon the next time i see you and not wait until you are 3000 miles away. now the next 10 replies are probably going to be something to the effect of jon kucharo is so great and has more talent than anybody etc etc.i know he plays great but if anybody likes his end of a all around match with me for 20,000 i am not hard to find.14.1 ,1hole,10ball on 9ft.

( and I look like the Old Man And The Sea............food platter ) :)

I guess he doesn't have a functioning caps key or shift key on his keyboard. Times must be really tough for professional pool players. Maybe we have an Ebay auction or a donation to get Mr. Schmidt a new keyboard.

John,
I think you can sleep good tonight. Kucharo on his best day couldn't beat you. Only the highly respected Mark Wilson was the only person that I can recall thinking Kucharo had a chance at big time pool.

I'm not a Jon Kucharo hater at all....(here comes the "but")....but, when I think of Jon Kucharo, I think of a player who was an above average safety player and a decent shotmaker. Nothing special stands out in his game.

What else comes to mind is a lasting image from the 2001 Master's 9 Ball Championship. Kucharo is playing Efren Reyes on the TV table. Whenever Efren racks, Kucharo goes up and inspects every rack from every possible angle. And not quickly either. After this scene repeats itself several times, Grady, who was doing the commentary with Howard Vickery, lets out what his opinion is of people who inspect the racks in an overly exaggerated manner, as Kucharo was doing that match.

When has anyone ever given anything other than a cursory glance at an Efren rack? Nobody has ever accused him of sharking or slugging a rack. Efren's reputation is as sterling as his pool skills.

Anyway, Grady suggested that that type of behavior from a young upstart against a legend disturbed him. (My paraphrasing).
Kucharo has quit pool and came back almost as many times as Roger Clemons retires.
Me thinks he smells a paycheck if he plays his cards right. That's all. Getting lucky enough to be selected as your opponent or Shanes opponent in one of the Action Challenges is the closest thing players have to hitting a mini-lottery.
If Kucharo really thought he was such a force in pooldom, he'd be mixing it up with the pros on a regular basis.
Instead, he indulges in other things to pass his time....

You don't get it. Just because you look at efrens rack everytime doesn't mean you think he's trying to give you a bad rack, but the only way to see what kind of rack you're getting is to look at it.
